Why dont we have him running into the box from the right to overload the defence like he did against West Ham when we stayed up. He took out two defenders due to his size, yet we've never used that since. Probably as we've never had a left.

Sigurdsson has scored in 9 of their last 14 games. He's the main reason for their revival, need to stop him really.

Stick him right & Townsend left. Mbabu behind Townsend. Mbabu should've come back way earlier for us. He was quality.

We've conceded only one goal 4 times in the last 5 games this lad has played. Stokes was Shaquiris long ranger, Leicesters was a bicycle kick, Sunderlands a corner & Southamptons from a corner when he was on. Teams arent destroying us in open play when hes on the pitch. Bournemouth got 3, but one was a taylor own goal & the other a last minute finish. Norwich & Southampton scored 5 in two games without him on the pitch.

Not surprising, the only player we have with a brain and positional sense. He was only dropped because he missed that sitter v Villa. I thought that was poor management by Mcclaren, the guy was just rebuilding his confidence & came across as a bit of a leader on the field. Fairly sure he'd assisted the first goal in that game with a corner aswell. One miss and dropped.

Someone nailed it on Sunday supplement the other day. Players join us to get a move on as we all know, they sign with us to get noticed in the prem & to get that move. They dont sign up for relegation battles, nor do they care much about the club beyond how it serves their original goal. So its no suprise that when it clearly wont do that, they look demotivated. Our issue is almost that we sign better players than our current fellow relegation candidates. The likes of Wijnaldum, Sissoko etc make their national teams. They dont NEED to perform for us to get another move to a decent side they already have their reputation. They can get back in the shop window at the Euros also. What motivation do they have to keep us up? Norwich's players are fighting because they have to to maintain status at this level personally, they cant just move on regardless. Same at Bournemouth, Sunderland etc So thats the obvious difference. It becomes about pride beyond that, but Wijnaldum clearly didnt sign up for this & is no where near the guy even pre when he scored 4 against Norwich. He doesnt care about the fight.

Draw i reckon, 2-2 or something. Our defence wont keep them out, so we need goals. Cisse & Mitrovic as people keep mentioning, get them occupying a different CB & get crosses in. Let townsend run at the fullback & have Dejong/Wijnaldum/whoever there for any cutbacks. Gotta go attacking at this point.

Suppose the one thing is the players seem to respond slightly better at times when they're not expected to win games. Might help half of them to be written off now. Id just go all out attack. Play Mitro, Perez & Cisse. Go at teams.
