  1. I just think its likely Ashley wants 300-350m. We've all known from the start he wanted money above 250m, this hasnt happened. Whats the basis for the "its all a game, he'll never sell" posts? He lied again about the lack of realistic communication, but thats a given. Still, clauses for 50m are not little footnotes in a negotiation. Staveley has not bid near this amount, without clauses. She is also stating she was going to spend 200m on transfers/the training ground. I mean realistically, if she really wants the club he may just think there is the option to give him more & simply spend less on transfers. Its basically just two sides who aren't budging waiting for the other side to back down. With the current television deals going insane all the time, 50m really shouldn't stop a negotiation of this size. I think they are playing games with eachother. 1: Staveleys pov was that she has leverage, due to the transfer window, Rafa giving the club value, the fans patience. So she expects him to feel pressure & time constraint for the deal. 2: Ashleys pov is that he's an absolute lunatic, who routinely loses/wins large sums of money at casinos gambling (based on multiple stories online) & is not the kind of person who will bow to any leverage of any kind. He doesn't care about logic, pressure etc he will expect to come through it all. So really she'll need to get closer to his valuation to persuade him to not gamble on us anymore. The media comments are just attempts at putting pressure on the other side again for me.
  2. He clearly wants near 300m at a minimum, no clauses involved. Her best offer is currently 250m really, maybe more dep on clauses in the second. He's not going to accept a 50m if we make the champs league clause. He's tried to smoke her out to a better offer after his "oh we totally have another interested buyer" scarcity tactic which obviously didn't work.
  3. Rooneys recent points man, how you meant to predict that nonsense. I get that he's their pen taker, but 4 pens in 5 games? A keeper dropping it at your feet? Assists for missing pens? Assist for passing it to someone to put it in from 25 yards? I decided his hattrick was a bit jammy (Bar the longer ranger) so left off. He's ofcourse just continued being jammy as fuck.
  4. Salah's just unstoppable atm Him & De Bruyne are on another level
  5. I just think we've not connected the dots yet. We scored 2 against both West Bromwich and Leicester, that's enough to win a game. Scored against both Man Utd and Chelsea, again expecting more than that is unlikely. Woodwork then twice v Everton... The issue is we've been conceding too many. Lascelles has come in, we've conceded 1 in both games due to a mistake and a good finish. Just need to match up this defensive level with our previous attack. Gayle has to be playing, Murphy and Ritchie also for me
  6. I've not seen the game, but it doesn't look too bad as a result From the gist of it they scored a quality goal and defensively we've been better again with Lascelles? It's not surprising we didn't score given none of them had scored in the previous 8 games. I think a spine of Lascelles, Merino and Gayle upfront is important for us. Don't understand the logic behind Gayle not starting tbh
  7. Of our last 8 games, we've scored 6 goals. Gayle has scored or assisted 4 of them. Ritchie's assisted Clark & an Own goal for the other two. So you could say the way its been going, something different would have to happen today to say the least given none of them are playing
  8. Zaha's the main difference for Palace on his own, all their form changed when he came back to get a winner v Chelsea in his first game. Should clearly be playing for a much better side. Still see Roy Hodgson as the guy who's logic put Harry Kane on corners. Obviously club management helps him.
  9. We were unfortunate in the last game with two off the woodwork and an error being the difference. We can't talk about flukey goals though after Joselu V Liverpool, literally the last people who can say anything.
  10. Agree, it doesn't annoy me that he wanted to get something so much he went for the second tackle. I'd have been more annoyed if he let the guy run the ball to the line no hassle. Everton sat back and made it difficult, we ran out of ideas. Our best attack actually came via Shelvey going past a man on the wing and whipping it in. So think people are being a bit harsh. Rafa may see it differently though.
  11. On the plus side we didn't concede many chances with Lascelles back. Their goal was a mistake and then Sigs chance was their next best. If we can keep it tighter at the back that's at least step one. Gotta give Perez/Gayle or Mitro/Gayle a go at some point.
  12. They seemed to give up after the Diame chance. Whole sides belief just deflated and Everton sat back. Basically just passed the ball to Ashley Williams head after that which was superb.
  13. I got the impression Jayson's comments applied to every player at the club. Strange that you should use something that reflects the honesty in his post to disagree with him. Well he called Perez "Absolute w***" in the quote i posted above, so no it doesn't apply. Just to clarify it does. You're quoting a post a few mins after we lost to Burnley. I'm not expecting people to not have a pure rant period and just happily talk about players potential after they've seen them be useless for 90 mins Just that after that you have a come down and get back into normal discussion. I've given Clark bollockings aswell, but he can clearly play better & has recently. Perez can also, but he's been less consistent.
  14. I feel like we shouldnt always go for simple answers. Ie: He's playing poorly so he's now obviously championship standard again. We saw him playing well for much of the beginning of this season. He played 7 and a bit prem games and only conceded more than 1 goal v spurs with 10 men. Yet now he's not good enough for this level? Context does matter. The context is clearly he's been paired with Lejeune and it's gone pretty woefully. The reason for that is the issue. I don't get the self congratulatory way some base opinions on current form. Oh he's playing badly, I knew he was bad. And hes playing well now, yeah he's a good player. You're literally just doing what the opposition fans or anyone could say. Surely with your own fans, the idea is to consider a players top potential that you've seen and support them to achieve it when they aren't at their best. Like supporting someone not at their best, isn't that the idea of support?
  15. I think we'll do alright. Extra days rest may help. Think he should go back to the Gayle up top championship formation we had, shore up this gap in the middle. Teams will think they can score now, just make it hard for them and counter.
  16. Charlie Austin would be a perfect signing for us. Wouldn't be surprised if they cycle him back out of the side either soon.
  17. Girouds pretty good at doing that
  18. Found it odd he gave Coutinho, Firmino, Salah etc 90 mins midweek when they were 4-0 up after 47 mins. Especially when he's rotating players out for a rest you'd assume as he did Salah before. Strange decision making.
  19. Same keep watching it. Can only assume Clark has no faith in Lejeune so goes over thinking he could be easily beaten. He does fall over simply chasing vardy tbf. Perez lets his man go past but should never be our furthest back anyway. Hayden, Yedlin and Manquillo are all at fault there really, caught out of position at the very least. Positives are Gayle looks like Gayle again. This lad is good enough for this level & we will score and make goals if he gets chances. The clear issue is our defence. Before Lascelles got injured if you take out pens we hadn't conceded more than 1 goal in a prem game with 11 men. That's impressive really. Since then the only side who've scored less than 3 against us were managerless West Brom. It seems whatever his ability, Lascelles simply organises our defence better as bar him it's the same players.
