  1. He was better today at times, he still lost the ball in the build up to their goal. We were attacking and he got caught.
  2. He had just got up from making a decent save to be fair to him. no excuse imo. If he an't keep his head cause he made a save he shouldnt be a Prem GK He was fingertips from deflecting it away man be serious. Elliot did nowt but make a couple good standard saves today. You should be asking wtf they have two free men at the back post if anything. Hendrick shouldn't have half an hour to bring a ball down onto his knee and side foot it calmly in.
  3. He won the ball in the air a few times, his layoffs were mostly dodgy though. That standard today is not high enough in general play to keep the other strikers out of the side if that's what he's meant to bring. That shot he did put wide was actually intended for Atsu in a better position.
  4. Benitez has to get over whatever issue he has with Gayle previously and whether he was as injured as he claimed or whatever. The guy can score goals, give him a continued run in the team again. No striker can build form as a sub every single game.
  5. Diame's been good tbh, he has cut out interceptions and tackled well several times. Probably more than anyone else.
  6. Ah man, Bravo's been v good tonight
  7. You have to take into account that Benitez is actively improving players also though. While his tactics are a huge part of it, he's finding ability in players that is there & working on it. Think its a bit harsh to see us still largely as a championship side, when players do develop. Give it time & other sides may want our players.
  8. Pens, fair play wolves. Superb that
  9. Its not even close like. Wolves have had by far the better chances, Man city have barely created anything of note. Just keep Man city out wide & pack the box. They've no one big enough to get on any crosses if there isn't much space to be found.
  10. No De Bruyne or Sane today though. The former especially has been fantastic this season, a good reason why City have been so dominant. I cant get my head around you feeling that people might not be aware of that

I like how he adds "being there" as if it adds more weight to his pov despite that being 10+ years ago. During a specific time when we also finished 4th, 3rd and 5th. Yeah what wholly unrealistic expectations they would have been for the context at that time. He must be well confused about his current career if he doesn't understand the concept of expectations changing with time/results.
  12. Not sure Elliot or Manquillo are much to blame for their first. They both assume he's going across goal as that's the way he's running and where the gap for the shot is. He just pulls it near post instead. If Elliot isn't going to his right and it does go across goal instead he has no chance and likewise we'd be complaining if Manquillo didn't try to block the shot across goal. Probably needed a second defender to push Gabbiadini away from goal if anything.
  13. Great that he's settled in so well, was a superb spot from Rafa and his team. This lad will start getting noticed more with time, Rafa is the perfect manager for younger lads like him to be working with really.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41558174 Doing this with your side 2-0 up and then losing 3-2
  15. Changing his entire name by deed poll was a strange reaction to their goal really.
  16. He scored a total of 6 goals last season, he has never scored double figures in a top flight campaign, despite playing 20 plus games a season for the last 5 seasons, his league goals record is 5,9,8,4,5. Three starts for us is enough to judge that he's the player is record suggests he is, as a sole striker that's not a good enough return. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joselu Context is obviously important & other factors such as confidence. He hasn't had much consistant faith shown in him previously. Run through how many consecutive starts he's had and what those "20+ games" are in actual minutes played. As I say, Rafa will likely choose our best gameplan anyway. Its important if a striker is getting chances which he is. He did well the first two games & missed chances in good positions the following two. Thats a very short period to decide anything. I still expect Gayle to come back into the reckoning myself.
  17. Maybe we could give Joselu more than two games before writing off his ability to finish chances also. Not much point discussing it though, Rafa will likely pick the correct decision.
  18. Ignoring Man city's 5-0 against them due to the sending off, Watford scored 3 & Leicester were a pen away from 3 also. They look shaky at the back away from home. Equally they can score a bucketload in any game also. I'd play Gayle in this one.
  19. Looks like he's been playing pretty well to me
  20. Gamez did really well, defence looked good in general. Some of the quick passing going forwards is lovely to watch, can tell they're confident on the ball really. Close game today between both sides similarly matched, but considering we were the away team you have to be very happy with that.
  21. Clearance off the line & a goal the other end just like Clark last week. Well done lads

Should clearly play with Vardy and Kane up top
