I like my job a lot and generally I am very positive about my employer - but I'd say it is very unhealthy both personally and societally to not talk socially about what is bad about it too. Regardless - he says absolutely nothing wrong in that video.
-
Exactly, this is the main thing. He comes across as sociable and polite to a complete stranger. It's honestly amazing that it is then used as an attack on his character

I slag off my employer socially on a daily basis. Thankfully people don't record it and upload it to the internet as a means to attack my personality.
-
If he says 'for Brentford in the Premier League' it invites more attention and more questions. It bigs himself up (whereas pro footballer could be at literally any level). If I was a top flight footballer I would be doing everything I can to avoid micro-interactions like this when not in a context I'm prepared for it. I mean this is a clear case in point. He's given the bloke the time of the day for a quick and polite chat and it's then subsequently been uploaded to the internet and used by people he's never met as a reason to attack his entire character.
-
Exactly - he's politely and modestly closing down the conversation with a stranger as quickly as he can. And little wonder - the way people microanalyse everything they say
-
Footballers get shit when they're caught giving it the 'do you know who I am' shtick in public, and rightly so. He's talking to some random stranger who doesn't know who he is and so is trying to play down who he is as much as possible. If anything it comes across as humble.
-
Yeah, he's clearly playing down the fact that he's a bit of a celebrity to somebody who doesn't have a clue who he is. Footballers really cannot win.

I'm amazed anybody had an issue with that video. It looks clear to me that after the last incident he is simply trying to avoid unwanted attention and being self deprecating.

I think we'd have got a fee of some kind for Woodman as he's gone permanent. I also reckon Hayden's move would have had some kind of small upfront loan fee. The other two I doubt it.
-
Could still potentially raise some money in sales from Darlow, Manquillo or Lewis, Murphy or Almiron. Can't see us getting anything for Gayle, Ritchie or Fernandez but you never know there could be some very nominal fees for the latter two. Could perhaps get 500k-1 million together for Watts and M. Longstaff. If we're lucky there may be 10 million or so all told which could a long way to paying for somebody like Mara.

Decent chance he's basically first choice there and will have loads of games. London lad and won't have to move at all. If Chelsea are only willing to do a loan I honestly don't think we'd have a chance of convincing him.
-
Less than 3 weeks to go before the season starts. It's becoming likely that even if we do get a signing in before then that they won't be in the starting line up for Forest.
-
Seems like Broja might be going to West Ham on loan. Seems a missed opportunity for us but a loan move where he gets to stay in London and have a load more chances to play with European football too was always likely to be preferable.

I actually thought it seemed like quite a big gap between Mainz and Benfica (8 days) so not surprised they've put an extra game. The squad is huge atm too. -
I thought Leeds wouldn't even entertain it tbh but it sounds like the club are happy to sell players and also that Marsch is looking to essentially play a wingerless system - so may be more of a goer than we think. I get the impression it's been basically lined up all summer but we've been exploring other options first like Diaby.

He was lean as a cat

While I agree there's a chance we won't be in the CL for 4-5 years, there's also a reasonable outside chance we will. West Ham and Leicester have both not been far away in recent years. Bit of momentum can go a long way.
-
All true, like. It's why we can't hang around too much.
-
Think it depends on both how he does over next few games and who we sign to decide whether it's worth him staying. If he goes out on loan I reckon it'll be right towards the end of the window.

When I was reading about Ekitike I had seen something about that kid actually being better

Adam P is actually superb now I reckon. He's leaned into it completely and it's paying off -

We look a professional outfit. Obviously miles off in terms of fitness but love how clear the style of play is and that everybody knows what they're doing. Love seeing the likes of Longstaff and even Dummett just slot in and get in with their game. -
