  1. Well my Dad was never that hugely into football so I was only a passive football fan for most of my life - watching the odd big game, never really that interested at all though. Strange that I ended up liking football really, started about 03/04ish when I really got into it. Can't remember really why I suddenly got hooked with it. This is my fourth season with a season ticket Funnilly enough my Dad got a season ticket for the backend of last season and now he's turning into a proper fan, so it's kinda worked the other way round to what it should have!
  2. Muntari and Stankovic are dm's? Stankovic has always been naturally an attacking midfielder, but in Mourinho's system I think he's played more often as one of 3 defensive minded midfielders. Muntari plays the same role at Inter aswell, but he's proving more and more that he just not Inter quality whatsoever anyway. Anyway, neither of them are technically astute enough to take Inter to the next level. Without Sneijder they often look toothless in midfield. Look at their team. In goal they have the arguably the best keeper on the planet, in defence they have Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Zanetti..all top class players, and upfront they now have Eto'o, Pandev and Milito - who have all been superb this season. From what I can see the midfield is their 'lacking' area - it's just not dynamic enough. Then again Mourinho won the Champions League playing with this system, so who am I to argue!

  4. Beyond Sneijder Inter's midfielders all seem a little samey. Muntari, Motta, Stankovic, Cambiasso, Zanetti and now Mariga all competent defensive mids but you only have Wesley to play the AM role. Don't you think Inter are going to need another top class technical midfielder if they want to have enough to challenge for the CL?
  5. Defintely think Celtic have seriously upgraded their overrall squad. Will take time to bed the new players into a team though.
  6. England Swiss Bulgaria Wales Montenegro
  7. We played Wales in qulifying for the World Cup in 2006 I think. Pretty sure N. Ireland were in that group too (and beat us). Aye I remember the Northern Ireland defeat - just can't for the life of me even remember playing Wales.
  8. Nice draw. Don't think we've played any of them in qualifying for a while. We'll finish comfortably ahead of the rest, with Switzerland edging out Bulgaria for second.
  9. Ketsbaia is Georgia manager now? Nice to hear he got straight back into a job after that joke of a sacking from Olympiakos.
  10. If Lovenkrands had played as many games upfront as he should have, he'd be well clear. Now I think Hughton is beginning to realise his value to the team more he'll finish as our top scorer.
  11. Shit, Football League Show. Telly off.
  12. Great wrasping volley for the 5th though.

Okocha is just about the most ridiculously skillful player I've ever seen. Some of the stuff he could do with a football were incredible, often unneccesary, but still incredible. Beyond the tricks there wasn't enough of the important stuff to make him a great player though.
  14. Big numbers are funny. I have a Cassano shirt with 99 on the back.
  15. Will he be eligible for the U18s? And if so, would he be involved?
  16. Sky announced the KO as 8:00 according to my mate, so a canny few people stayed in the pubs a bit longer and missed 2/3 goals.
  17. Gotta say this sounded superb, especially when it was sustained for ages. Definitely better than the 'fat cockney bastard' chant, it's positive aswell as being defiant
  18. At the end of the day: 4-4-2 2 natural wingers No defensive midfielders There should be no fucking surprise as to how well we played, please stick with this Hughton! All in all though I'm absolutely over the moon Routledge was worth signing purely for the party tricks
  19. What a great source of information Wikipedia is.
  20. A marked upgrade on the lack of absolutely anything in a Butt/Smith partnership though

Has Cassano been mentioned btw? He was the first player that came to mind when I saw this thread. EDIT: Previous page, doh.
  22. Yeah, born in Denmark though. Man City's current 3rd keeper Gunnar Nielsen is Faroese.
