Nice to see Wilshere scoring.

Sorry VI. Really need to stop tempting fate.

Ohh man not again.

Ahhh come on man Nicklas. This is what happens when I defend a player so much.

Have I spoke to soon, Ronaldo pulls one back. If I'm right, Madrid are now playing something like this: Higuain Ronaldo Kaka Guti Van der vaart Alonso

Suddenly turning into a rather decent night for Barca after all.

Not quite, but that individual performance from him today would have certainly got him a man of the match award in many of our other games. Okay so he's a bit of a speed merchant with limited ability, but he does offer us natural width which is very useful. Some of his touches and passes were especially excellent today. after a nervy first 10mins his movement was very good. the win and lay off for the pen were very good. didn't he set upi carrolls very good in the first half aswell. caused them bother all afternoon. still don't think it's enough for him to still be here come the summer but credit where its due. I think his most important attribute is that like Routledge he gives us natural width and allows Guthrie to play in a more central position. It's not about the individual but how he effects the shape of the whole team. Absolutely agree 100%

no no no......why run the risk of injury through playing pointless games. I'd like to see him at the WC.
-
See how he does between now and the end of the season I guess. I don't think he'll be much use in the Prem, but he's definitely a good squad player to have around in this division.

Twente are having a great season under McClaren like. Although the club has been steadily and stabily built up before he arrived there - they'll definitely win a title within the next few years if they don't this season.

I really hope that Jonas goal is as good in highlights as it was at the time. What a moment. -
I've hardly seen anybody English that actually rates Ibra, so don't see how he can be overrated. Divides opinion tbh, people who watch him twice a season in the Champions League formulate a consise opinion that he's rubbish, while people who watch him regularly realise how talented he actually is. I'd agree he's having a stinking time of it atm, and he's not worth anywhere near the money paid for him. However he absolutely carried Inter for 3 seasons, and it's taken 3/4 players to replace the goals/creativity he brought to them.
-
Ibra's playing pretty shite at the moment, but to even suggest you'd have Carroll over him is just backward. 2-2 anyway, Messi.
-
I'm sorry but

Was just wondering, who would most Newcastle fans support? England, or an Argentina side if Coloccini & Jonas were in the side? Errr, England...

Gotta say I literally cackled when I saw this news. Fuck you Owen.

Absolutely class

Could go either way then. -
True. Football would be a boring game if everybody was your straight as a dye, model professionals.

I lol'ed when he put on the Berlusconi mask after the derby win... http://www.marcomaterazzi.it/public/materazzi-berlusconi.jpg

Politically driven yes, but with the emphasis firmly based on the football - and superb football at that. The Old Firm is the other way round, where the whole rivalry is based on longstanding religious divisions, and these divisions create the focus for the whole thing. To me it just seems like the football is just a stage for them to better one another. When you see them with the Irish flags on one side and UJ on the other - it's just a bit sad. And then you have Celtic fans supporting Ireland and Rangers fans supporting England instead of both of them backing Scotland. I did the whole Irish history thing in school aswell and it was tedious as fuck, such a pointless argument and an uninteresting subject. Definitely.
