Without a shadow of a doubt. Downing is such a limited player, he's a decent crosser of the ball but he doesn't really have anything else to his game. His best attribute is his left-footedness, and the fact that there are very few left footed wingers around. Johnson on the other hand is also left footed but can play on either side due to his dribbling ability and general better versatility, not to mention the fact he's quicker and infinitely more skillful. Just an all round more talented player tbh, which yeah could have been summed up with the simple '>'.
