    Alan Pardew

I'm stuck in Scotland with limited connection to the outside world. We really keeping him then?
  2. The wagebill I agree is high. But you can't argue that the fees have been at that level.
  3. Don't Arsenal put their youngsters on high wages earlier in a bid to keep them but their wage structure stops them from offering stupid wages? High wages for youngsters, once they hit their peaks their wages are lower than equivalents at other clubs.
  4. If it wasn't for Abramovich and the Sheiks then it would have stayed the two horse race of Man United and Arsenal for another decade. Those two went toe to toe, and Wenger was dealing nearly as many blows as Fergie was. Some would argue the injection of cash into other clubs has created a greater and more competitive league and broke up that duopoly for the better, it's a matter of opinions - however there is no doubt that Arsenal have been set back ever since Chelsea were bought out.
  5. Another problem for Arsenal is that their top players have all been on disproportionately low wages compared to equivalent stars at other clubs, again down to Wenger historically nurturing rather than buying talent. Makes it difficult to keep them long term when other clubs have so much cash to burn on wages. Ultimately, Chelsea and Man City have ruined Arsenal from numerous different angles. Arsenal's barren spell began the moment Abramovich turned up, that's a fact.
  6. Well then they are f*cking morons. Not really. They are the 4th richest club in the world without a trophy for 8 years. Even Ferguson would had been sacked if he went that long without success, it's Arsenal's 2nd longest drought without a trophy since the 2nd World War. They've had their best players sold season on season. They've not been able to pay the fees and wages that Man United, Chelsea and Man City are able to because they're paying off the stadium every year. Wenger has done an amazing job to build the stadium, fight against a counterproductive board and keep them top 3/4 every season. Any Arsenal fan that can't see the bigger picture doesn't know a thing about football. Like the 100M Wenger's had sitting in the bank for the last 2 years but refuses to spend? You don't know what you're talking about. If he had money to spend to attract the top class players, he'd do it. He doesn't though and he's been fighting a losing battle to fund the stadium and try to stay competitive. Only just now the final repayments on the ground are coming to and end, and the new sponsorship deal will give them a further boost. If Arsenal had stayed at Highbury, they probably would have had more success. But obviously Wenger wanted to leave a lasting legacy along with all the other facilities/foundations he's helped build up. Maybe in 20 years time we'll see whether it was the right decision to focus on those foundations over short-term success - if football continues the way its going in terms of financial doping it will probably have been done in vain. That's fucking cheap. http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/arsenal-song-remains-same.html Largest cash pile in any club in England. The final repayments for the Emirates are not due for another 23 years, they've chosen to pay off the stadium early as they weren't spending any of the profits they were making. I've just said that to you. They've decided to fund the stadium rather than invest to stay competitive in the short-term. Time will tell if its the right decision, I hope for Wenger's sake it is because he's an exceptionally principalled individual who has done a remarkable job at Arsenal both on and off the pitch.
  7. Wenger sitting there, stroking this huge £100 million pile of cash telling the club they need to sell another captain and top it up.

  18. Di Natale stretchered off today, hope that's not the end of his career. Him and Zanetti both going through injury would suck.
