We've got a long season ahead. Both will play plenty. We're suffering at the moment for prioritising depth rather than first XI but you would think the wisdom of it will pay off as the season continues.

I'm not convinced by him yet. He's much better when games open up a bit though.
  3. Not sure tbh. Every game I've gone to in Italy the checks have took place before you get to the actual gate, with name on ticket crossreferenced with your ID when queuing to get in. You just scan your ticket in digitally when you get to the gate - nobody checks it at that final point. My understanding will be that NUFC will have wrote these names on, and then sent back the details of each purchaser referenced to each ticket back to Milan so there is a record as required by law. This has obviously been necessitated by the quick turnaround of paper tickets (usually the name would be actually printed on the ticket itself). If people are able to wipe the ink off the ticket and re-write the name I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Not that I'd recommend such a process in a public sphere of course...
  4. Im gonna go along to the KOR game on Tuesday I think.
  5. https://mancity.com/news/mens/away-supporter-information-paris-saint-germain-v-manchester-city-63768105 An idea of what to expect from PSG away here. Think I'll be in the home end.
  6. If I knew I could get a ticket I'd definitely be doing Dortmund by any means possible. Brugge, Kharkiv, Benfica were all great last time. Drove across in my dad's van for Brugge - slept in the back. Kharkiv we went via East Midlands airport and Istanbul. Benfica flew to Faro and got the train up. But personally if I can't guarantee a ticket I'm not bothered about going to all the effort. Don't really have an interest in just going for the sake of it. I'm doing PSG this time with the old man as we have family in Paris and just going to go in the home end if it comes to it, but it's not the same like.
  7. Yup - they're great, regular and affordable. Particularly in the north. I did four games (Venezia, Verona, Brescia and Milan Derby) in 48 hours on trains. You couldn't do that in the UK (largely because of kick off times too mind). Honestly if people do have the time and resources (although I honestly don't think it's that expensive if you look around) I'd even recommend bookending it with other (nicer) cities as opposed to just going direct to Milan.
  8. Not just on the Italy side either. If you're willing to go down a London airport there's loads of very cheap flights to both Milan Airports even on the day of the game. Obviously you're gonna have to have a bit of travel, but that's part of the fun to me like. Getting to Kharkiv was more fun than the match itself If I hadn't already been to San Siro multiple times I'd definitely be going. Tbh I still might be tempted if it somehow goes to members sale.
  9. Trains between Roma Termini and Milan range between 2.45 and 3.40 depending which service you get. Rome airport to Termini is about 30 mins. So I don't know you got to 8 hours unless you are meaning there and back? It's definitely not going to be 'easy' but there is a lot of options if you're able to take a couple of days off and travel either side to other airports.
  10. If you're wanting to go direct from Newcastle to Bergamo then it's a fortune. However there's quite a few ways to get there if you're willing to travel. Trains in Italy are really good so I would say there is little issue with flying into any of Turin, Verona, Bologna, Pisa etc and making your way there.
  11. It's not just Milan, it is every professional game in Italy as it is required by law. You (in theory) cannot go to a game unless you have ID which matches the name on your ticket - and they do check on the gate. I did manage to jib into Verona vs Juve with somebody else's ticket, after waiting for the stewards who had stopped me looked the other way. On another occasion at the Milan derby they didn't end up bothering to check tickets in the 'away' end as a big crowd built up close to kick off so they just let everybody through. Generally thought they will be checked.
  12. The % pre-collection thing is something that NUFC have appeared to ask for in this instance. Agree I don't really see the point in this case. However the passport/driving license at the gate is standard at all Italian games and required by law so not something NUFC would have any input on.

  14. Tell you what mind including PCHS high school pitch is stretching it even by my standards
  15. Welcome to join me on jaunts to various lands that time has forgotten. Getting close to completing the Northern League 42 (much more prestigious than the 92).
  16. Lovely stuff. Agree it's a great way to see places you wouldn't normally have a reason to go to.
  17. There is a general tendency to boycott the games Vs the U21s. Or was when they were first brought in. Attendances for those games do remain very low in most cases.
  18. Yeah I stuck it on for a bit and there was a sizeable away end in the main stand facing the cameras. Can only presume it was made up mostly of NUFC fans located in the general vicinity both sides of the border?
  19. I can't find a single report that says he's on that. Romano reported it at 7+2 million euros. So around 100k going up to 140k including bonuses. Gazzetta reported it at a similar 8 million euros flat. Where is the report of 210k a week?
  20. Headlines a bit much. Sounds like he just has an injury - not great news for us.
  21. In response to the thread, this website is cool for tracking them: https://www.footballgroundmap.com/sewelly 171 - with 50/92 for the current football league clubs.
  22. Yeah I went to Brondby Vs Braga a few years ago for a Europa League qualifier. Bought the ticket on the door for that, which was easy. Can imagine a big derby might be more difficult like in terms of getting tickets like - maybe check historic attendances for those games and have a read around. The stadium was mildly difficult to get to by Danish standards. About 25 mins walk from nearest Train station - but there was matchday shuttle buses from said station.
  23. I thought they were having a low key window but they've spent 350 million euros , not including the 80 million for Ramos which is kicked down the road to next summer via loan with obligation. They've brought in 150 in sales, but still. What the actual fuck.
