Got to say I've never gone to SJP and felt like I was missing out by what was being offered. I turn up 5 minutes before kick off like any sensible person, having ate/drank in one of the hundreds of other establishments in the city. I then stay in my seat and watch the match unless I'm bursting for a piss to the point I can't avoid it. It genuinely amazes me that people are looking for anything else from their visits to a football stadium to be honest.

Already gone to Forest.

St James Terrace is Grade II. Leazes Terrace is Grade I.

Not enough foam fingers and waffle fries I guess

I don't think we'd have the level of opposition we did in the 90s tbh. The council and freemen were in support of the previous project, and I'd imagine would be again. I think public support would generally be increased too with a clearer justification for needing to rebuild. If you extended the existing park right down to Strawberry Place that would actually be a huge benefit to the city which has few proper green/recreational spaces in the centre. The biodiversity value of The Moor isn't even that great either. Again for me it's the only option if we can't extend the Gallowgate and East Stand to achieve 60-65k. Keeps the stadium as the centre piece of the city.

It wouldn't/couldn't be directly on Leazes Park. It would have to be primarily on the Castle Leazes area of the town moor to the north of LP - with perhaps only a small part of the footprint encroaching the edge of the existing Leazes Park. And you would have to offset this by extending the existing park down to Strawberry Place. Worth noting that the university have been looking to rebuild their Castle Leazes accomodation. Buying that site together with Castle Leazes Town Moor would give a very big footprint to develop. It does push the ground further away from the centre though.

Gala did bomb out to Ostersunds a few years ago as well, like. -

Get through this round and they'll surely go out to Galatasaray. But unbelievable story nevertheless. -

Wonder why they've moved it as they played both the earlier rounds at home. Bit of a shame IMO - suppose it means a bigger crowd in. -
Competition supposedly.

Yeah. Except it wasn't left back, he played left wing back in a midfield 5 and it was literally one youth team game. You can see that singular time mentioned on the stats if you look at the link I sent. It is the only example of him ever playing on the left side in his entire youth and first team career. It's hardly an extensive record to go off and certainly doesn't suggest that he's comfortable there. Again - he might be, particularly if he's two footed and comfortable on the ball. But there really doesn't seem to be much evidence to support it. An example of a half truth from one report being extrapolated out as fact.
-
Again, this seems like something which has been regurgitated without any evidence to support it. You can see all of his youth and first team appearances here which have been exclusively RB and RM: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tino-livramento/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/503981
-
Has never played there at all at youth or first team level, so certainly not proven to be able to.
-
Fully expect us to sign a young keeper at some point but if we did bring somebody in of that profile this summer they'd be straight out on loan imo.
-
I was a undoubtedly a Gordon skeptic prior to signing him but having watched him for U21 and for us in pre-season he clearly massively passes the eye test. I'm amazed anybody is still criticizing the signing at this stage tbh. He should be great this season if it clicks, and will offer us plenty across muiltiple positions.
-
Not saying it's likely because you have to be spectacularly bad but you can get 150/1 apparently on them beating Derby's record, which seems good odds.
-
He has played right wing back loads for us though, with mixed results. It's hardly a huge jump for him to be doing ok filling in there.
-
Also really vindicates getting rid of both Wood and Shelvey when we did, even if it weakened the squad on paper. Don't think it's unreasonable at all to suggest we could have been in a similar situation with both of them, particularly Shelvey.
-
Yep it'll be right at the end of the window. Nobody wants/can afford to buy them and also know we just want them gone. Clubs will also have other priorities first. It'll be a case of waiting right to the end of the window and see which club gives the most favourable deal, even if this in terms of % wage contribution on loan.

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa: 12/08/23 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

Also a striker from Argentina and still linked with the Leverkusen defender on top of the one from Wolfsburg. Their spending will go behind 200 million, easily. Can't see them doing that unless Kane is definitely leaving. It's a rebuild job like 2013. -
Both because of wagebill and squad size a lot of signings going forward will definitely be dependent on trading out as well. We wouldn't carry 3 LBs + Dummett/Ritchie. So we'd only sign a leftback if Targett was to go for £10-15 million and we bring in a new first choice.
-
I still think a left back could happen on top of a CB but that would only be if there are any takers for Targett.
-
Yeah the wage thing is very true, it's just as important to look at that as it is the transfer fee. Livramento is reported to be only on 7k a week at Southampton. He'll be getting a big pay rise coming here but will still be very clearly within our wage structure.
