  1. Villa deciding to realise they're shit again with Liverpool away on the horizon.
  2. So annoying the narrative after that. They were genuinely dreadful, should have conceded a hatful, then got a goal with their only shot after City played it like it was make-a-wish foundation.
  3. It should have been a mauling. Allardyce is jammy hateful toad.
  4. Fucking annoying game. Should have been about 7-0.
  5. I did it at 8/1 the other day on Sky. If Liverpool win today by free bet double on them beating Fulham/Brentford comes in. Gonna then stick it straight on an Arsenal away win
  6. I'm betting on Liverpool every week at the moment like. Also put a little wager on us missing out on top four. Haven't gambled on football for about a decade before this
  7. Our slightly leakier defence has coincided with us scoring goals for fun and going on a winning run. It's about balance. There was definitely a spell where safety first was coming before our attacking fluidity and costing us points with draws.
  8. No striker. Although I suppose Ferguson is going to be the one - and Pedro now too coming in the summer.
  9. That was absolutely thoroughly deserved. Got to say I've probably not watched as much of Brighton as I should have, as I loved De Zerbi's Sassuolo team. They looked really impressive.
  10. Genuinely blew my mind to read that Neymar is 31. We're all just marching towards oblivion aren't we.
  11. Exactly. 5th would be fucking devastating at this point. That's why everybody is losing their minds.
  12. Turning that shite off, waste of time. Just got to hope we do our bit because there's no way they're dropping points with these kind of decisions.
  13. I just wish Liverpool would drop some points. One slip up and I'd be at 100% confidence. Not just because we'd have such a huge margin for error at that point but I reckon once they slip up once they'll probably do it again.
  14. Real Madrid's new stadium redevelopment will be an absolute game changer for their revenue streams going forward tbf. With the ability to put the pitch under the ground and the covered roof they can host city centre concerts, exhibitions, sports events etc every night of the week that's not an actual matchday. It's a license to print money.
  15. There's often good players in relegated teams. I actually think that's becoming more and more the case now PL clubs are becoming better at scouting and signing from all markets. Honestly these days loads of good players are already in the PL player pool - it's not the early 2000s anymore. It's often no slight on a player to be in a relegated team that has a good scouting process but bad overall operations and coaching. Anguissa was relegated with a dreadful and chaotic Fulham side but has been brilliant for Napoli as a recent example. However it's definitely a case of seeing past the numbers/MOTD highlights and picking those with genuine quality. It takes good scouting not just a case of picking those who have stood out in a relegated side. Indeed often players can shine in relegated sides because of the way said team plays to their benefit. A no frills CB looking great because he's in a side that defends deep (Scott Dann/Roger Johnson), a striker scoring loads because the whole team is built to feed them (Charlie Austin). I was worried Pope was a goalkeeper making lots of saves just because his team was under pressure all the time - but we clearly looked well past just the stats for that one.
  16. I'm gonna be in bits if we're ever going for the title or later rounds of CL. Genuinely find being good ridiculously stressful. Keep re-checking fixtures, odds, percentages, weighing up permutations. We're better than I can ever remember us being and yet I stress watch through games with my heart pounding along. I think making the CL is a particularly huge deal for me this season because I think it's a way to skip forward so much of FFP restrictions. It can supercharge our progress. I think EL or ECL could actually hinder us - getting a load more games but without the additional revenue or pulling power.
  17. For me JWP is a good mid-table/bottom half PL player. He has technical quality and his set pieces make him a real asset for a certain level of club. However there is no way he is good enough for a CL pushing club. Lacking in the required pace and dynamism. Southampton have been picked mercilessly (and willingly) for their talent over the years and it's never even been remotely likely that he would get picked up.
  18. What odds can you get on us missing out? Must be longer than those 6-1 for Liverpool making it. Might offset the potential obliteration if we bottle it.
  19. His best ever PL goal scoring season now.
  20. I still think they'll win all their games like. Load of teams either on the beach or already down. If they drop so much as a one game as a draw I think it's done.
  21. Think they'll win their last 5 like. We're going to need 72 to be sure.
  22. All 3 is better. Max Spurs can get in 69 which is basically 68 with their goal difference. A Spurs win and this is all over.
