He had a shit attitude before he came here to be fair.
-
Everyone's a fraud.
-
If he was clever enough to put on a bet you'd accuse him of matchfixing after that 1st goal.
-
Dave, there's smoke coming from the relegationometer.
-
That's surprisingly unequivocal. Where's that from? Most articles say he 'wants' to be here next season rather than 'will' be. Then when asked if he would stay if we got relegated, he said he has confidence we will stay in the PL and that's it.
-
Absolutely this, said it all along. That makes no sense either. His primary aim is premier league exposure - he'd just keep us if successful, he just can't be arsed to do the necessary legwork. I agree he wouldn't sell it quickly as he's a stubborn arsehole but if we're down there long term is that attitude going to persist? I don't know how you can be so sure either way. So much of the motivation relies on being in the big time. Put it this way, if he wants £400m* then Mike Ashley is the kind of person that will still want £400m after a couple of years in the Championship (in fact, he will probably want more as we will get less income down there). He won't flog us on the cheap, he just won't - otherwise he would have done that by now. *for the sake of argument, not saying that he does. MA has never had the majority of the fanbase against him though. That's more likely to happen if we go down IMO. He bought the club to advertise SD, if his ownership becomes toxic to SD then he might think twice about waiting for the money he wants. It's up to the fanbase to drive his asking price down - boycotts, anti-SD protests whatever it takes. Fans can be as cynical as they want with regard to protests but the fact is that the fanbase hasn't actually yet fought against MA as one, no-one knows what will happen.

Was Ashley, the real reason for our problems, who said that not Charnley. He was in charge of buying the horse though... Charnley's an idiot and incompetent but it's the same old story, idiots replaced by idiots and the blame gets directed away from Ashley. Waste of time waiting for a competent chief exec to be appointed, just get rid of the fat bastard hiring the rubbish ones.

If someone offers a price he is happy with , then he will sell. It really is that simple. He is a businessman not a football man. This is true to some extent. The problem is that, as things stand, he's getting free (global) SD adverts for the next few decades. It's going to take a massive offer to convince him. If fans want him out they're going to have to force it and make SD's association with NUFC toxic. This is easier in the Championship, which is why a lot of people want/wanted us relegated.
-
He bought the club to promote SD and our ground is still covered with SD adverts so he's doing what he always planned. Don't see how there's any evidence he actually wants to sell. He says loads of shit (or gets others to do it) to keep fans pacified and clearly it works.

Yeah, it does seems like we've given up on the Leicester game and only care about getting someone in before Sunderland (if at all). Like you say though, they'll not have much time to prepare and if we lose that game we're playing catch up.

Lee Ryder @lee_ryder 4 hrs4 hours ago Rafa Benitez interested in taking Newcastle United job but could walk away if club are relegated Could walk away? We'd be lucky if he comes in the first place never mind going down with us.
-
Swansea, the lowest of those teams, are nine points (assuming we lose to Man C) clear of the relegation zone. Even if they lost every single game, which is unlikely given that they've won 4 of the last 9, then it would still require two of us, Sunderland and Norwich to improve on our less than 1 pt per game record so far this season.
-
All 3 of those teams are completely out of it.
-
As if Benitez is ever coming to nufc. Where do they get this, if he does he must be so desperate or Fatman has done a total u turn and offered silly money, either way it would have to be short term so he could get rid after he keeps us up, then look for another monkey who he can pay peanuts too. Why not? Keep us up and he's boosted his reputation massively. We go down and everyone knows it's not his fault, he'll leave in the summer win-win for someone like him He's most recently managed Real Madrid. I'm sure that's a good enough selling point without needing 'saved NUFC from relegation when 1 point from safety' on his CV.

Seems pretty much everyone in the media is agreed on the fact that Ashley is poison now. Just got to wait for the fans to do something about it...
-
I bet morale at training will be sky high
-
Eh? When was Moyes ever approached by us? Dunno if he was, just says in that Times article he was reluctant to work for Ashley in past.
-
Moyes was previously not interested but now is? Wonder what changed for him? The addition of Steve Black? The signing of Saivet? The beckoning relegation?
-
Whoever comes in, you've got to question their sanity. The last few managers only came in because their careers were on a big downward spiral.

Ashley will sack McClaren and it will go quiet again for another year assuming we can somehow avoid relegation. I think that's why people need to get behind whatever campaign they start up again. Needs to be something long term to get rid of Ashley.
