Wonder if he cried. Bet he cried. Cry me a river Pardew you sad wanker, hope they've got you paying for your own flipboards and they went buy one get one free the week after you bought yours. Fuck off.

Get the transfer record monkey off Ashley's back once and for all, and even better on a waste of money so they can justify never doing it again? It's ridiculously cynical to think like that but everything's about the PR with these cunts. They'll probably stop spending money on players, spend a few quid on the training ground and say "You asked, Mike listened".

No, and this is why I said it stinks. Leganes are 2 points from safety, this could send them down. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1244939/Barcelona-Martin-Braithwaite-Transfer-Leganes-News-Rumours-Gossip

We don't really counter attack any more, we just launch it long. That's why the comparison with Liverpool and Leicester is a bit disingenuous. Is that down to us having poor quality players compared to those sides? It will be a factor certainly, but you also have to wonder if the coach is capable of actually designing methods to improve it. We have seen Brighton and Sheffield Utd improve their football significantly thanks to the direct input of their managers, you can't tell me that is down to them having better players. I suppose I should have said the 'main' difference. We're never going to construct a formula for rating every manager, but there is one factor that Bruce (and our previous managers) have had to deal with, which isn't the same problem at Sheffield United or Brighton. That's the pressure of being a 'big' club, with high expectations, historically low achievement over the last 60 years and a strong local involvement hungry for success. Our status as the great under-achievers pre-dates Ashley and Bruce. In terms of the combination of those pressures, we're quite unique. Bruce has managed that syndrome pretty well, and I'd say better than most. Expectations are non-existent at NUFC these days. That's why Bruce has the job.

It's impossible to prove or disprove whether sustained boycott would work, since the vast majority of fans won't even at least fucking attempt it. Any protest that has affected Ashley's image or bottom line to any significant degree has always been met with a reaction from Ashley, whether it's a ramping up of PR campaigns saying a sale is imminent, media interviews from a guy who was once a hermit, player purchases, free tickets, whatever. We're seeing that reaction under not much pressure at all, how on earth anyone can say with certainty that half a season of sub 35k attendances wouldn't tip the balance in our favour is beyond me. Seems a very convenient opinion to hold when you "just love going to the match". Some of us used to love going to the match as well but won't support this voluntary glass ceiling the club has imposed on itself for over a decade now.
-
I'm furious about it tbh. Yet more divide and conquer tactics from the club to negate the effects of protest. And also makes geordies look poor / unprincipled / stupid. Another reason why it's a win-win for Ashley.
