We better not just sign a load of wingers when we have far more pressing needs elsewhere.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan
Interpolic replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
He should start running us like a £350m football club then. We're valuable when it suits him, worthless when it doesn't. It's because of 10 years of failure including an appalling transfer record that buyers aren't exactly queuing up to pay his asking price. The club is worth fuck-all without its Premier League status, and we're clearly going to be perilously close to losing it yet again. -
... Gannin' alang the Scotswood Road, to see the Blaydon Races!

Who? Dennis Wise ? http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/newcastle-united/11211758/ashley-wont-sell-to-just-anyone In just under 3 minutes, he managed to say the words "football club" 13 times. What this moron is doing on TV f*** only knows. Why did you count? Because the phrase "football club" when clearly said in a football errrr club context is one of my biggest pet hates. When I heard him trawl it out 3 times in the first 10 seconds I decided to keep counting. Plus I'm currently unemployed. He does say "football club" a ridiculous amount there. He's talking utter shite like, what an evil thick little wanker he is. -

Go to the Giraffe bar before the Burnley game and tell him yourself I'll try to remember next time I'm up. He's obsessed with the Krays mind, be careful wormy.

Christ, felt like I'd seen a ghost reading that Tweet tbh. Speed's death has been so shrouded in mystery I didn't think we'd ever hear of him again other than the odd tribute.

Newcastle United 1 - 1 Swansea City - 13/01/18 - Post-match reaction from pg16

Well this was our first league game since then. Presume Rafa doesn't think that set up will work at home when we won't have as many chances to counter but I agree, would have liked to see something similar. Not sure how to approach Man City but should be similar approach to Stoke (or West Ham actually) when we go to Palace. Ah fuck, so it was. Games have come so thick and fast lately I got mixed up That definitely needs trying again, there was promise there. -

Why haven't we gone with the front 4 that looked so good at Stoke since then? Looked like we'd finally cracked it in terms of having a fluid attack with good pace, movement and incisiveness, albeit against shite opposition. -

Tbf. We had 1-2 good chances vs Bournemouth, the other chances were excellent attempts by Atsu and Ritchie. Today is just very poor finishing from the bits of the game I've seen. Yeah they were mainly long range efforts against Bournemouth admittedly. Point still stands though that we haven't allowed things to fizzle out after half time recently so hopefully that continues. -

Feel like we've been here a few times before this season. Having by far the better of it first half and feeling like we'd rue missed chances, which is exactly what happened for a while (Bournemouth at home for example). But more recently, away to West Ham and Stoke, we've persisted after the break and done the business, so fingers crossed. -
The difference is that previous managers used to lie about it for him.
