  1. as we did with the cup final. Worked canny iirc.
  2. Consistent tbf Seriously though I'm glad that the future of the most important man at the club isn't actually precarious enough to sack him for losing one specific fixture, at any point in time
  3. crowd can't get themselves up for these games, can't be very inspiring for the players.
  4. Tbh it's no surprise like - the price of everything atm is ridiculous, it's Christmas, there are lots of games and NUFC reckon they can charge London ticket prices.
  5. If we build a new ground we need to think about the next 100 years, not the fact some fans attach so much of their own ego to the club that they couldn't handle what other fans think about a few empty seats now and then. 52k is clearly nowhere near big enough even though it was fine 20 years ago. The popularity of football is only increasing. Ticket prices don't need to be sky high, that's a choice. So if we have issues with attendance we can lower prices, especially if FFP dies a death. Nobody knows what the future holds but if you want to future-proof you build it bigger.
  6. The cup final stuff was an eye-opener for me and have found my obsession with getting tickets waning ever since. A lot of that for me is life stuff - so much money going out atm, I'm getting my granda's ticket in the East Stand a fair bit as he's not been well etc. But the absolute fuck-on getting tickets when all games are on telly and I'm looking at £110 minimum if I want to bring my wife - I'm absolutely being way more selective now. And a massive part of that is feeling like they're taking the piss.
  7. Just working it out now myself, I think it was a 25% rise from 23/24 to 25/26 (i.e. over 2 seasons) for members and "only" 17% last year. Cheapest tickets went from £44 to £47 to £55. That £8 rise with no explanation or justification feels no less mental to me the more time passes And no fuss whatsoever. Nobody gives the slightest fuck about members
  8. £55/£58 for the cheapest tickets this season is an obscene price point for those paying game by game. It somehow slipped under the radar but in this economic climate with so many games in the calendar I almost want them to struggle to shift tickets because it's what they deserve. Any new stadium should be as large as possible with staggered pricing so there's a price for every pocket, but say that to any football executive now and they'd laugh you out of the door. There isn't even a pretence that fans aren't just cows to be milked dry anymore.
  9. Doubt we'll ever find out. I like the bloke and his achievements are beyond question, but he's imo more boring than Mourinho except in a very different way obviously. Endless keep-ball, excessive tactical fouls, the neutering of countless flair players, mad rotation leading to a lack of standout stars, centre halves aal ower the shop. Can't stand Klopp as a bloke but his teams inspired far more entertaining changes to the game than Pep's ever did imo.
  10. When he looks languid you can guarantee he's going to frustrate the hell out of you, and he's looking languid most games these days. Wingers tend to have a USP and his was pace, intensity and relentlessness on and off the ball. It certainly wasn't technique, guile, ability to strike a ball, link up particularly well with team mates, find an incisive pass, or whatever. He's forgotten what he's good at or can't or won't do it anymore. And the optics are awful, comes across like he fully can't be arsed except for the odd game. He's performed well as many times for England this season as he has us, too. That said I thought he was OK tonight by his awful recent standards Bilbao was the worst I've seen him and this was a step up from that. But as usual some of his decision making was completely inexplicable. The one before HT is an easy goal for anyone who'd keep it simple.

    Harvey Barnes

Gordon played in 23/24 like his career depended on it, because it basically did. That player is a menace and would be first choice in terms of general play on and off the ball, and had a decent output too. If he can't replicate that intensity regularly he's not that useful a player. This season he has looked like the 23/24 Gordon 2nd half vs Benfica and also for England. That's not enough and I'd prefer not to see Barnes shunted off to the right or the bench to accommodate him anymore. Barnes has rarely let us down other than a few patchy runs that all wingers have, and his finishing is special.
  12. It's blind desperate hope on his part.
  13. As far as I know Happy Days was quite well regarded before the Shark Jump episode.
  14. Exactly. Imagine your critical thinking skills failing you to this degree. Keegan turned a team that nearly got relegated into one of the top sides in the country within a few years, but if he'd finished 2nd in 92/93 his time would need to be judged a failure.
  15. What is a football forum, in any case?
  16. It's somehow class that, tbh
  17. Cheers for explaining, that doesn't even register as a negative for me though and I'd imagine the majority. Every manager in the world has their own set of quirks and makes errors regularly.
