Unsure if already posted but this is on nufc.com via the BBC: UEFA has stood down the VAR who made the decision to guide the referee to give PSG their penalty last night. Tomasz Kwiatkowskiwas supposed to be VAR for the Real Sociedad v RB Salzburg Champions League game this evening. However, he has now been replaced. Although UEFA are yet to make a public statement over the decision to award PSG a penalty deep into stoppage time against Newcastle last night, it is the clearest indication yet the think the ruling was incorrect.

Liew's tweet last night showed a (wilful?) lack of understanding of the ebbs and flows of a football match. PSG were chasing the game from the 23rd minute. The final stats make PSG look dominant but I assume the first half stats were fairly even as they felt as though they were. And most observers would say we shaded it, both on and off the ball. Yeah,. we dug in in the second half but as above and he's also ignoring the context. We didn't make a sub and we are down to our bare bones. Of course we were hanging on. I've seen Liew pontificating on SSN a few times and noticed the guy never smiles even when the conversation is lighthearted. Takes himself way too seriously. Get on the list

Steve Bruce Roadshow: Dates in Hexham and Blackpool announced.
Interpolic replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
Bruce is Wallsend's most insufferable export, which is more of a feat than it sounds as it includes Sting ffs. I'd happily chip in for the creation of an effigy of him, to be permanently hung outside The Anson and laughed at by all who pass. Re Longstaff, Bruce's poor little ego can't handle not having the last word about something that reflects badly on him. You nearly ruined the kid's career with your arrogance and ineptitude man, show some humility for once in your life and shut the fuck up. Knob. -

It's a total mess tbh About half of the players have a season listed against them and about half have a year. I'm not sure why seasons and years are listed at all tbh, it's daft. Andy Cole should say 93/94 as that's the season he scored 41 goals. 92/93 was the promotion season and he didn't sign until February. Harper is down as 1993 which is interesting since he didn't make his first team debut until 1998. Tim Krul is down there as 2006, he didn't make his debut until the November. It was also the only game he played that season. Admittedly it was versus Palermo in THAT game, but it's one game. Peter Beardsley listed as 1996 when that's when he had been shifted out to the wing and was becoming more of a bit-part player a year before being transferred to Bolton. 93-95 were more his prime years for us in his second spell. As solid and underrated as Darren Peacock was I don't think I've ever seen him in an all-time NUFC 11, and I think there are good reasons for that. No Jackie Milburn. No Malcolm Mcdonald. Which would be fine if it was a modern 11 but he's got the likes of Hughie Gallacher in there. The positions are just all wrong, won't explain why as you all have eyes. I could probably keep going, the more you look the more you notice

The state of that club even after they've been proven to have spent far too much money Sorry @Neil

That's out of order, if he's said that.

it's true mind, when I'm in the haze of a great result I think to myself I'd love for him to stay for 10 years plus, and keep growing with us. Just love the way he carries himself, how he represents the club, the togetherness he's created, how we bow down to nobody anymore, our intense and entertaining style, and the multitude of fantastic moments he's already given us. I think/hope these reports that come out every time we lose a couple of games are from lazy journalists who want Newcastle to fail, so they're desperate for the owners to be impatient and trigger-happy. Think Staveley at least is acutely aware how lucky we struck it with Eddie though and would fight his corner even if we're in a really bad spot. We're massively on to a good thing here and hopefully we'll not do anything to compromise that.

Can Arteta keep being reminded he was wrong every 3 or 4 days until the end of the season? As I'm quite liking that schedule atm. -
Thinks he can prontonise Trippier. Nar.

Look at the state of that cunt with the tash, man. -
Speaks really well as always but that's about a downbeat as I recall seeing him. Seems shattered and a bit gutted. Clearly really frustrated at the injuries as well.
-
Gordon as emergency cover at CF would be absolutely fine if every fucker else wasn't also injured.
-
Gutted at that like Some good spells but just came up short, unfortunately. A few less injuries and the last 2 CL fixtures might have been different. Really need some players back soon before it derails our season completely.
