  1. Aye, call to Everton and most likely Merhdad but judging that on the headless figure's gut not being big enough to belong to Eales. Eales appears to be sitting down chilling. Makes more sense if it's husband and wife semi-bickering
  2. Fuck it, I'm gonna watch that bit again
  3. Fair do's, call to Everton makes more sense
  4. These fees are bad news for us mind, we are shopping in different markets but they'll most certainly inflate the market as a whole. Milan probably gutted they didn't wait a few months to sell Tonali now.
  5. Klopp showed his true colours with the Super League stuff, while other "big six" managers were condemning it. The manager of the holier-than-thou, YNWA club refused to condemn it out of fear he'd be left behind. He's clearly obsessed with winning which is no bad thing but he reached the point long ago where that manifests itself in a really ugly and obnoxious way. Like Mourinho went from likeable to unbearable, it's similar. Can't stand him.
  6. It's all clearly building up to the moment they've teased a lot anyway, Wilson being reunited with the teacher he used to fancy.
  7. The only whiff I had of any trouble in paradise where there was a bit of tension in the room was when Staveley was about to make a phone call (to Ashworth?) and Eales said "think about what you're going to say" and Staveley snapped back "I know what I'm going to say"
  8. This isn't what was said. Staveley says "at the beginning the big issue was that they (critics) said PIF was the Saudi state... which is absolute rubbish". Yasir then says "some journalists really don't understand what PIF is". Then Staveley: "We had pushback obviously from Amnesty International. Everyone wanted to talk about human rights and they didn't want to talk about anything else. So we've worked really hard to address the concerns that people have". Not saying that's a great deal better like but nobody dismissed Amnesty International's concerns as "rubbish".
  9. Think the next ep will be largely about the buildup to the cup final and the game itself, and maybe a bit about bouncing back after it. Then hopefully the rest is focusing more on individual league games and how that run got us into the CL. Staveley is a lot more emotional than I expected, I mean that as a compliment as the club has clearly got under her skin in a big way. I already trust Howe massively with the playing side but seeing her contributions to the Gordon deal etc impressed me and she'll clearly make sure every penny we can spend is spent on the squad.
  10. Yeah I could literally field 54's 11 apart from GK I am v tempted by Richarlison in for Maddison as saves 0.5m and he'll be playing striker but I've been on Maddison all summer so will stick with instincts and probably rage switch for GW2.
  11. He's on loan aye, he is listed as a Forest player on mine so maybe check again
  12. Yeah the documentary basically seems to start around January, the first half of the season is sort of skirted over after a bit about the first partial season under the new owners. So far it doesn't appear to be an ultra-detailed deep dive into our season but more them picking out some key moments to focus on for their narrative. To be expected really, given it's only 4 episodes and needs to appeal to a broad audience rather than just massive Newcastle fans who would obviously love to see absolutely everything.
  13. I've got him as my bench forward, I think he'll be rotated at first and play his way in. Decent tip I've just picked up on on Twitter - that Turner who went on loan to Forest from Arsenal is likely to start for them in goal. Is only 4m so a cracking option for your bench keeper and apparently rotates quite well with the likes of Pickford, Onana, Steele, Johnstone if you wanted to take them out for their tougher games.
  14. I've seen Chelsea make that signing 100 times before.
  15. That Tyler Adams will hardly play for Chelsea. Wish something could be done about clubs piling up players just to recycle for FPP purposes. Another way it's rigged for the rich clubs to keep getting richer.
  16. I'm sticking with my team, pretty much. I've gone very strong in midfield other than no Salah and decent in defence and midfield. I had Kane practically all season last time but want to try this where I'm happy with pretty much every position and tweak if and when needed. Hopefully a few cheap gems emerge that allow spreading funds a bit.
  17. Yeah DMs are bad FPL assets generally, if you want someone for your bench who will start every game and pick up 2-3 points then there are a few options at 4.5-5m.
  18. Has me considering ditching Maddison tbh, could be bad vibes at Spurs the first few weeks plus he's not got a top striker to assist now.
  19. Kane is understandable as well because he's dead expensive. Everyone has Haaland and the best midfield options are generally £7m+. No Pereira this year at £4.5m to give you funds for elsewhere. Same with Salah and Trent, they are too expensive imo. I've chosen Odegaard alongside Saka but I understand why he's least favoured of Saka/Martinelli/him. He's 0.5m more than Martinelli and the same price as Saka who is on pens. Also we don't know the effect of the Havertz signing on Odegaard positionally yet. Groß is a good shout but honestly it has been a toss-up between Brighton midfielders for quite a while now and more people have gone with Mitoma. I've done this because I think he's more explosive with a higher upside but we'll see. Maddison plays for Spurs, might take time to settle and there have been doubts Kane would stay. I've selected him but know it's a bit punty. I think selecting the most risk-averse 15 on day 1 is probably the best strategy because it hopefully limits your need to make wholesale changes with transfers and wildcards in the early stages. It is a bit boring but hopefully it will open up a bit. I do have a problem with people blindly following YouTubers or whatever throughout the season but think being fairly close to the template on day 1 is actually a good bet.
  20. I disagree tbh, I think player by player they're template for a reason. Generally the best bang for your buck for the best teams where you want coverage, with kind early fixtures.
  21. TAA was in my draft for ages but swapping him for Shaw gives me £2.5m to make the midfield really strong which was too tempting. I'm mainly not that happy with Watkins as my second striker but he seems the best bet at that price tbh. Joao Pedro and Colwill are vague punts as well because we might see their minutes challenged, we'll see.
  22. This is my side for now, might tweak slightly but not by a great deal. Edit - should say it's very "template" sort of by design as I'll see how the popular choices perform then make more differential moves later.
