Think we'll nick a draw, just looking at the fixtures until October and McClaren will want us to get something as it's going to be tough going until then. It would have been interesting to have seen Beresford in a more solid team, it's apples and oranges really given that Enrique was in a team set up to defend primarily.

Disagree with that entirely, he was a Steady Eddy in Keegan's side, who often paid the price for the showman in front of him. He often looked suspect defensively but it was a by-product of the way we played. He was handy going forward as well. An underrated player, given that he was often regarded as a weak link. He wasn't top drawer but he was a good full back.

Nor should we for dross like Townsend. He'd be alright for £5m or so given what we're used to, but Spurs are taking the piss with that price. I'd be staggered if we bought him and paid more than about £8m.

Time and time again we're linked with these sorts of players and we never buy a single one of them. "The English Premium" is not something we buy into.
