I agree. I just don't think that's how he will see it, or he would have started doing it already. Paying off his £29m first would back you up. What reason was there for him to repay that beyond a stubborn principle that he had said he wasn't putting any more in after the Keegan affair? I think he'll stick to that though and stop repayments with the £29m satisfied. Why? It's an assumption as I said. I'm far more likely to believe he'll start pumping excess cash into anything but the playing squad unless we find ourselves in danger again. I firmly believe that they want us to actively avoid cup runs and European qualification in favour of the bare minimum that guarantees a place on the Premier League gravy train. Based on 7 years or so of evidence, and reading their bullshit about 5 year plans to become the next Arsenal or Villa or whoever suited them at the time. I understand that you think you've spotted a trend and am always interested to read an argument that is built on solid analytical grounding, but in this case I don't think your guess is better than mine or anyone else's. Who's to say he won't start using excess cash after the initial loan is paid off to pay off the remainder of his loan or do whatever he likes with it for that matter? Not you, not me, not anyone but the fat, evil, unpredictable cunt that's done whatever he likes since he stepped through the door. Assume the best all you like, but forgive me for assuming the worst. PS you said that this financial trend you'd spotted was the reason you had no doubt we'd appoint the best candidate as manager, so I'll be interested to hear what you have to say if Carver gets the gig full time or we go into next season with Mike fucking Williamson making 30-plus appearances a season. Again not a dig like mate, but this was correct then basically. Any attempt to assume the best was exactly that - an assumption. At that point nobody knew owt but I'd always be more inclined to assume the worst with this lot.

Said before. I now think we're at £5m as the kitty for this summer. Basically Our operating Profit. It'll actually be lower because we're going to finish lower in the league so broadcasting income will be down too. £18.7m profits reported in 13/14 and I make it an 18.6m net spend in 14/15 up to and including the sale of Santon. This isn't a dig but weren't you recently saying that you expected us to spend plenty in the summer and have plenty stored away for January? What's changed to make the budget £5m? Simply down to lower profits than expected (which seems to be a by-product of this mystery hike in costs)?
-
Will you give it a fucking rest man FFS.
-
Hypocritical given what I said the other week, but for the love of fuck somebody lock this cunt.
-
It's a good point like, whether the profit's as high as expected or not they recently admitted pulling out of a deal for a centre half in January, just in case the MYM transfer didn't go through. I know we're talking different financial years but I think the point still stands.
-
Same, what the fuck. How the hell did I miss that?

All of his articles are weird, he's off his fucking tits.

Get in, name check.

Aye but it was a similar situation, almost radio silence from the club - he was just "injured" while they kept him fresh for a transfer. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with Tiote or one of the others. Pretty sure they did it with Jonas once upon a time as well, not sure if that was before or after his diagnosis.
-
This happens all the fucking time, man. So ridiculous. This season alone the amount of never-ending injuries we've had is unreal. Aarons, Santon, Tiote, De Jong, Haidara, S Taylor, Abeid. Anyone else?
-
Pardew clearly models himself on him like. I'm getting to the stage where I can't stand him based on the fact I want to see entertaining games, and he doesn't.
-
Not including strikers, I'm more on about wingers and attacking midfielders.
-
How many attacking players have become more creative/effective under Mourinho's management? Seems to happen all the fucking time, man.
-
This makes me feel better than some random Internet table. I can't even imagine being in your position, bickering with Man Utd over who is the most successful English team ever. Therefore:
-
Worthy a thread tbh, not just a fave NUFC player thread but who did you think was over-rated, under-rated, under-used, over-criticised, etc.

Aye but his personality has nowt to do with it really, I loved Bellamy but always said he was a cunt that I loved but I wouldn't stand for it if he wasn't our cunt. Off-the-field stuff shouldn't come into it IMO, plus I personally just think Beardsley was more of a genius for us in the time I watched him play. Robert was certainly the boss when it came to end product, i.e. goals, assists and creating mayhem, despite him being ineffectual a lot of the time. It's scary (and a bit of a shame) that we didn't have Beardsley for more of his prime years. Was the perception he was getting towards finished when we signed him from Everton?
-
Beardsley by far for me, although it's a bit like bands in that the things you love when you're young and impressionable you'll always have the biggest soft spot for.
-
I was at that one like, think it was 0-0 at HT? And he just went fucking apeshit and scored 2 of the best goals I've ever seen, ended up winning 4 nowt.
-
Fuck off, wacko.
-
Assists were through the roof as well. One of our best ever players.
-
Remember when Roy Keane kept on trying to say "Neymar" and it sounded like "Nightmare".

So beating Oldham, Boro, City (then in second tier), Arsenal, Sheff Wed and a Spurs side containing Ben Thatcher and Chris Perry better than taking Boro (via victories over Stuttgart, Roma and Basel) to the UEFA Cup final? Yes, winning is better than finishing 2nd. That's before you even take into account which teams listed there were taking the respective tournaments more seriously. Kuffour, Mexes, Chivu, De Rossi, Perrotta, Dacourt all started for Roma against them. But hey ho. Sorry, are you saying losing 4-0 to Sevilla in the Uefa Cup is a better achievement than wining the (admittedly shit) League Cup with Blackburn? I'm fucking bored with this shit, anyway. Anyone legitimately wanting Steve 'Derby are doing well in the Championship and he did well at Boro' McClaren over the suggested/approached realistic European options is a mong. End. Wasn't the argument though. I think the 2 League Cup wins are comparable as achievements, although I don't know the 2 respective squads off by heart admittedly.
