http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2470047/Sir-Alex-Ferguson-admits-mistake-letting-Jaap-Stam-leave-Manchester-United.html Ah, I remember now how they were pissed off about his book.
-
Think Ferguson said somewhere that the only one he really regretted selling was Stam?
-
Good ones. Obviously Pogba as well. Fuck it, Gabby's mint man.
-
Fergie always knew when to let a player go, he must have shown some ability at some point to get there but if Fergie is actively selling someone there's a reason for it. Should never have taken him, Butt or Smith. Can't think of many good players he let go - Stam's the best example I suppose, and maybe Beckham and Van Nistelrooy. Butt and Smith were so clearly finished.

Absolutely rinsed yourself there like, you'll be "anyone do that for me?" in no time.

Fucking hell mate, how much did you bet?
-
Skrtel was down for about 10 minutes there, seemed more of a precaution by the time he got stretchered off mind.
-
Fucking fed up with managers saying "the football club", Sherwood and Pulis both at it on MOTD.
-
And that was after 2 transfer windows where we never made one permanent transfer.
-
Wow, that's unbelievable.
-
Alderweireld moved to Southampton because we couldn't possibly sign a player before another one leaves. Think of the books man. The fact that Alderweireld, MYM and Santon are all playing extremely well is irrelevant because we have Mike Williamson and he doesn't cost much. We're just about to announce profits of anything between £30m and £50m and we couldn't afford to risk getting a new centre half in. Pathetic.
-
I don't buy this idea that we've not had a pot to piss in until now like, unfortunately I can't be arsed to understand the accounts enough to argue otherwise.
-
Imagine being a fully grown man and saying a lass looks "stunning" without taking the piss. Sort of bloke who's after a 40 year old scorcher presumably.
-
He'll score at least 2 or 3 before the end of the season if he's playing pretty much every game.
-
See what you're saying midds but that'd be very dangerous given the favouritism we see towards certain clubs, fuelled by media campaigns. Unless you can guarantee complete objectivity, it's going to be the same thing happening with potentially even more dodgy consequences.
-
Eh, isn't the elbow earlier on this season the first time he's acted like anything other than an absolute saint since he arrived at NUFC?
-
Bollocks this like, what's becoming clear is that anything the media jumps on gets picked up and acted upon quickly and harshly by the FA whereas other stuff slips off the radar. Which is completely ridiculous when you consider that most people in the media aren't in the least bit unbiased or without an agenda of their own. What has happened to referees over a number of years has made its way into retrospective punishment - decisions not being made based on the crime at hand but rather for the fear of consequences in the media. The worky ticket managers and ex-players of big clubs fuel that of course, and it ends up with more of these things going their way.

'Newcastle say they paid my wages when I was in jail but they never. I was not paid. 'They were giving me an ultimatum saying if didn't sign this contract on a fifth of the money I was on they would sack me. I was sitting in a jail cell at the time so I had no real power. 'As a principal I told my agent I'm not signing, I will let them sack me. I was quite confident I would get out of there and get back to the player I was. FA rules proved they couldn't then sack me.' Players can generally do what they like when they're on a contract with a club, a long ban is not much of a deterrent in that sense.

Barton wasn't paid when in prison People seem to be saying that lately but it's not how I recall it at the time. Perhaps I'm remembering it wrong and he was insisting on getting paid but was ultimately unsuccessful. Regardless he went to jail and we carried on paying him when he was out. My point is that the journalist is talking shite about the club holding any power.
-
"The wrath of the club". We paid Joey Barton £60,000 a week while he was in jail and for years afterwards.

The pair of them should be sent on a bonding trip to Naples, the spitting capital of Europe.
