  1. It's basically not going to happen because the crowd's pretty divided, people are pissed off but a lot of them still want to go to the game and there'll be a lot bringing their kids. There'll be between 20 and 30 thousand there I reckon.
  2. I always send an overdone steak back. Chef boy might like the taste of burnt leather but I don't.
  3. Imagine the first time he did a bicycle kick man, they must have thought he was fucking mental.
  4. He's so fucking dreamy, damn it!
  5. It doesn't really matter if January spending is aligned to this summer or that summer. We're in desperate need of another 2 forwards, simple as. Again we'll go without.
  6. It's been building up since the Kinnear appointment and the gaps in the squad are plain to see. People have every right to be annoyed.
  7. very much doubt robson would've bought him tbh. whether he could've made something else out of him had he been an inherited player, who knows ? Why? bother at other clubs and gives the ball away too much. Very strange perception that. Agree. Robson would have been in there like swimwear. He bought Robert who was infuriating at times, and also loads of young players that were known as trouble.
  8. Re boycotting matches I remember when not many people went to the Spurs match in the League Cup (not long after that Hull match) and apparently a good few stayed away in protest. I thought the attendance was tiny but just looked it up and it was about 20k, which isn't even that bad really.
  9. it does happen. I'm sure joey bartons "free" transfer to QPR cost them 2mill. This is brand new information. don't misunderstand it, it means qpr shelled out to the player, his agent etc, not that we received a fee and when a player is a free in the manner barton was, or a desirable player has let his contract run down (ie ballack style) they will expect higher payments due to there being no transfer fee. I know, man.

  11. On the more general subject, it's easy to see why it is in Ashleys interests to keep NUFC revenues as low as possible whilst maximising SD revenues by whatever dirty tricks he can manage. That way he can keep us owing him a hundred million whilst boosting the profits and share price of SD. Also, it justifies nil expenditure at NUFC. Man's an utter shitcunt, and anyone who willingly gives him another single penny needs their head looked at. The less we make in profit and the more he can use us to make money for Sports Direct, the less money he has to justify "trousering" to service the debt that saved us. It's starting to come together now. That's exactly it. I know I keep banging this drum but Sports Direct share price rose to an all time high today of over £7 a pop, 20 times more valuable than the day he bought NUFC. I'm with you on that to a degree, but also must point out that NUFC alone hasn't seen the share price multiply by 20 and this is why you keep seeing people like Ian jumping on your point and trivialising it. There are other factors in it of course, and I don't have loads of knowledge on this, but you'd guess the fact SD has gradually killed off many of its rivals to the extent they're not trading anymore, the economic climate driving people to cheaper goods above all else, SD stepping up other marketing/PR efforts, Ashley buying up more sportswear companies to increase profit margins, etc - it all plays a part in making SD more attractive on the stock market. I'm sure the Newcastle connection has served them well and deserves its place as one of those factors though, especially with the global reach of the Premier League.

  13. I know someone mentioned this the other day but can't remember where: The thread title at the time is priceless: "Club for sale: £100m, anyone interested can email!"
  14. Crossed my mind too. Whenever he leaves I'm sure he'll leave a lingering smell.
  15. We're pleading poverty, I can only guess people are looking to see why. We have done so for a while. I veremently disagree btw and I understand why it has come to the fore but it's old news. I'm not sure it is old news, I had no idea that NUFC weren't counting all revenue from the club shop (online or otherwise) in their own revenue figures. Maybe people are just joining the dots now but this is quite a big deal.
  16. The money paid for a free transfer.
  17. Nah, can't see the tickets being like that. Though remember the Rangers Ticketus scandal! Doesn't all of rangers merchandise go through SD nowadays? http://www.rangersmegastore.com/CustomerServices/OtherInformation/TermsandConditions Looks familiar like.
  18. could that not be classed as fraud ? Is it not similar to the catering?
  19. £17m from merchandising and sponsorship in 2011/2012 http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mike-ashley-want-prices-low-1361584 Eh, that doesn't make sense to me, is he saying we bring in £5m on retail but retail costs are £4.8m-4.9m? Appears so. No way that is true like. It can't be, they'd be the worst business people ever. Oh, hang on. In all seriousness, they might as well shut them down if the profit margin is that s***. Like you say it sounds like f***ing bullshit, as ever. Unless it is outsourced and the club gets the £100,000 - £200,000 as a commission or fee on the £5 million of sales. If you see what I mean. Like the catering.
  20. They mentioned SD tills in the club shop, nothing about online sales, I think. Hmm true, I might email True Faith and see if it helps it gather any speed.
  21. True Faith got us started to be fair.
  22. Actively taking money away from the club in terms of sponsorship, merchandise, catering, then using any profits we still somehow manage to make to pay back the loans he "saved" us with. All while preaching about poverty and prudence. It's the lowest of the low if it's true, and we already know the sponsorship and catering stuff is.
  23. How long has the online shop been http://www.nufcdirect.com/ ? Is that link a piss take? Nufcdirect Nope, click "Shop" on the website and that's where you end up.
