  1. Haven't kept up with this much the last few days, I'm more pissed off that we're wasting time and potentially part of our tight transfer budget on a backup left back than I am any of this West Ham stuff. It is fucking integral that we get a quality forward and centre half in and they should be working around the clock trying to make that happen quickly. If we lose points against Reading then that's another black mark against the tossers running the show. It does seem like what some people thought might happen is coming to fruition mind, ie clubs are aware of our recent success for getting quality and value in the transfer market, selling clubs make our interest public, other buying clubs do what we never do and throw a bit more money at it to get the deal done. In other news, it's 18th January. Get a fucking move on and be prepared to pay a touch more to save our skins FFS.
  2. Fuck off with your NETD-like shit Neil, the only barometer for success is league position. I've been working over 50 hours a week some weeks and I've managed to submit my scores, there's no award for the flaky individuals who've thought on occasion "Oooh, it looks a bit difficult this week, I'll forget so that I keep my average up". Consider yourself telt.

  4. Pipe down man, nobody buys anyone until the last 2 or 3 days.
  5. I doubt it's true like, but if it is then we'll offer £1.5m if Bolton are expecting £2m. So not to worry.

The stronger the perception that he's been hamstrung by injuries and a lack of investment the better job he'll get. Never mind that we should have got much better results this year with the players we've had on the pitch, he's creating the perception he's had an impossible job. Definitely. If he gets sacked now there'd be a fair amount of sympathy for him from casual fans mainly due to his self preservation and that 8 year contract. If he went then it'd be like the Allardyce situation all over again, England's football fans and press alike absolutely slagging off our club after having seen us half a dozen times on Match Of The Day and glancing at the league table. Wouldn't be quite as bad, as Allardyce clearly has more friends in the press.

Anybody in his position would feel as if they'd won the lottery and to a certain degree he had. Pity he found a system that worked towards the end of last season, only to get rid of it at the first opportunity. I would love to know what thoughts went into that decision, my guess is that he's so arrogant he didn't think it could go wrong. Agree regarding the system, it was totally ridiculous and now we're playing catch-up on so many levels. Don't get me wrong like, I have little to no sympathy for him - just saying that it's not that hard to believe that those 2 at the top have worn him down.

How can he go on and on and on and on about injuries all season, then when one comes back wheel out the "like a new signing" line. No Alan, it's like one of your players not being injured anymore.

Yep. I'm utterly convinced that this is simply Pardew trying to absolve himself from blame ahead of the transfers we need failing to materialise. As the .com piece says, people will turn on the him and the club if signings aren't made and we continue to struggle. He's absolutely right about our lack of quality and depth, but a poor workman blames his tools... Honestly think the Remy debacle has been a huge wake up call for him. Also think he's shitting it as he knows how tricky Dekka is. how was remy a debacle ? theres probably numerous others but thats a poor choice. It would be better for all if he didn't do that (if it's as you say) via the media approaching a big game. He wants to put pressure on the board he knows where Mashley lives. Get some balls. I think he's tried that and he knows it doesn't make a blind bit of difference. He's now getting desperate, as I say. He must have known what he was getting into, I think everybody else did. You honestly think there was a hope in hell that Alan Pardew would have turned down the chance to manage NUFC at the stage of his career he was at? There was no chance, they could have asked him to do the job in drag and he'd have happily obliged. Another consideration is that the guy won manager of the year last year, if he's starting to feel like he's in trouble then part of the reason for his 'poor me' routine could be that he's talking himself up for his next job.

The thing is that you can say what you like about him losing it (I'm putting my personal feelings aside for a sec), but the fact that most of his media quotes are made to try to influence Ashley and Llambias is just so transparent it's untrue. Not sure how anyone can deny that tbh, it's totally obvious. So basically he signed up under the agreement he'd be their puppet and now things aren't going too well he's getting desperate and trying to save his own skin/reputation.

We're always the underdogs man, always. That goes for anything Pardew says and anything the daft cunts running the show display, both actions and words.

It's hard work supporting the tiniest club on the planet.
  15. FOR FUCK'S SAKE MAN, I looked at the form tables before making this week's predictions (don't usually do this) and was seriously considering going for a draw last night. Probably 2-2. Chelsea aren't winning at home and Southampton's recent form isn't bad. Need to start going with my gut.
  16. Why the self-enforced "2 windows on the trot" rule? You can't be pissed off at 1 transfer window and expect them to correct it sharpish? As it stands, we're a player up and a player down in this window. We need at least 2 top players in before February 1st. Last summer we lost players from the squad and the wage bill but as usual decided to take the risk and test the bare minimum we could get away with. And why have they ignored the centre back position since Sol Campbell left? This is the FOURTH window since then and we've basically chanced our luck with 3 centre halves (1 top class, 1 ropey if you're being charitable, and 1 with a proven track record of spending half of most seasons recovering from injury) and also a jack-of-all-trades in James Perch who has filled in at times. Since we got promoted Mike Williamson has played in the league 29 times, 22 times and 17 times so far this season. That's not good enough. You seem to be blinded by the fact that we've managed to bring a few good players in, while conveniently forgetting that a lot of the other players are some of the worst shite we've ever had in the top division. Why did we go 1 window without replacing Sol Campbell, never mind get on to the 4th window with the manager saying he doubted we could afford both a striker and a centre half? The irony is that most or all of the good signings that you're clinging on to for the sake of your argument will leave out of frustration at the lack of even moderate ambition shown, the fact they're playing with shite players every week, battling relegation. And that's without the manager issues. There's a chronic lack of investment, even a net spend of around £10m a season would have plugged the gaps and kept us ticking over, but we always seem to find excuses for not spending any money whatsoever and leaving ourselves criminally short. I'm fucking sick of turning up to matches and watching Shola, Williamson et al, the fact that you're not can only be down to you being such an all-seeing, all-knowing, NUFC fan-hating bore of a person.
  17. Howay man, there's offering your views and there's being a patronising twat. Perfect example is you calling people "silly" and "daft" when they're rightly concerned for the club, giving perfectly articulated and reasoned arguments for whatever dismay they may have. But no, the argument is just "silly" or "daft". It's very condescending, and already it's as tedious reading this shite on here as it was on my Facebook. But you know best, better than than the majority, all of the time. I understand. Anyway, I'm off to bed.
