If this is true then the people at the top of NUFC are a bunch of fucking knobheads for letting rumours spread like wildfire all day like they have. Cabaye's the only good candidate IMO, I've always thought he'd make a decent captain though, (unlike some). Options are fucking sparse though, I admit that.

I heard it was pretty much impossible to sign enough players to keep Williamson and Shola out of the picture, so Ashley probably couldn't even do that if he wanted to.

I wouldn't be comfortable making him captain given his fitness record, he doesn't come into the equation for me. Captain needs to be in the side far more often than not IMO.
