Probably. Hadn't looked because I expected people to be talking about Davide Santon and if we have signed him, not a competition between a bunch of geeks trying to impress each other with shite moving pictures.
-
Same.

It's honestly getting to the stage now where I'm just hoping we sign a left back.
-
Sibs was mint He was mint by accident.

I have no issue with that. Laugh at the asking price and move on. But it appears like we've been trying to negotiate despite the fact we're probably unwilling to pay even half of the asking price. It's typical current regime stuff.

Agree with this. However, my boundless naivety will now have me hoping that we'll have Pieters and Santon in the squad by Thursday, given that wor Erik is still gagging to come here and we could probably get BOTH for the amount Cissokho would have cost. 2-for-1 deal man, Ashley loves that shit!! I do realise the Dutch lad is now apparently "not for sale", but we might just up the offer by 100,000 Sports Direct mugs and seal the deal. I bought last year's top from Sports Direct's website but the daft fuckers sent me an extra large. I took it back and got my money back. I kept the free Sports Direct mug that they sent me though. I am up on the deal and it feels good. I laugh about it now but Ashley's probably noticed the missing mug and this summer could well be my fault. So I'm sorry lads.

But we will have known the asking price for the WEEKS we've fucked around apparently trying to sign him! Fuck me.
-
There'll probably be at least 1 on here who says they're delighted that we just got a loan in at the end rather than spunking money up the wall for the sake of it on a striker who wasn't worth it because we're so close to the deadline, completely ignoring the last 3 months we've fannied about.
-
And I say the above with a new-found confidence that we won't get relegated, which is possibly the foolish by-product of us managing 7 points from 3 games. I still have big concerns about where the goals come from and the fact that we're relying on a few players that have only managed a handful of games in the last 12 months.
-
I'm sort of over it now Dave, are you not? It's been clear for a number of weeks/months that we weren't going to make the signings that were going to take us to the next level. I'm not saying it's not something to be angry about because it is, but as long as we sign a left back and look like getting 20-odd points by Christmas and 40+ by the end of the season then fine. Our intention is to exist in the Premier League. My personal expectations have been lowered once again, although I'd be well fucked off if I was paying £500 a season to watch it like. Hoping for miracles now is beyond daft and we all know it.

Macheda. People were laughing and joking about this the other day. They were saying "Ho, ho, ho, ho, Macheda" or something. Honestly man, this transfer window. I'm feeling quite mellow atm since we're on course for 90 points this season given current form, but we've made a right fucking hash of things like, pathetic.

Gyan is a disgrace, came back from summer way overweight and should be docked his wages till he loses at least a stone. He scored 10 goals in 20 starts last season so know he has the ability but he has been very unprofesional the condition he has come back in. Don't think you can call Wickham, he aint even started a game for us yet so that would just be daft, he is still learning. Any ideas who you'd like to sign? Would you go for a Gyan swap deal with Crouch or Pav if it was at all possible? Also, do you not think Bruce is being a right div by going on and on about poor finishing after every single game? Not only does it potentially destroy player confidence but - similar to the injuries craic last season - players will latch on to any excuse not to put a shift in if you give it to them on a plate. I'd only go for Gyan swap deal if it involved Defoe. I can't see Gyan going tbh, think it's too late in the window now. I think we need someone up top who is capable of holding the ball up and letting either Gyan or Sessegnon play off them, Gyan is not capable of playing up front on his own, ball just bounces off him. I'd like to see someone like Pavlychenko(sp) or Bendtner. Yes, it won't inspire confidence if the manager is constantly putting them down in interviews. I couldn't believe after the game on Saturday that Bruce came out in a BBC interview and actually said "if Benty was still here, we would have won the game. Unbelievable. Wow. Yeah, you're right - that's really fucking bad.

Yep, he was allegedly a very disruptive influence in the dressing room, falling out with coaches and players alike and was sent back to Inter before his loan even ended. Played 7 games and scored one goal and 3 assists so not too bad in that department. However his general play was shocking and one of the most lazy players I've ever seen, he made Kenwyne Jones look like a workaholic. Going to be some serious backpedaling from some posters on here if this deal happens. I somehow doubt it. Those that watch Serie A (Mattis, Sewelly etc) called him poor before you signed him. If we were to sign him, that opinion wouldn't change. If you look I believe they both referenced how he was impressive for Portsmouth so I'd imagine most would just hope he could recapture that form. I think Wearside's right tbh, most people had their reservations about signing Obertan and would have probably ripped Sunderland for signing him, but he's here now so you give the lad a chance.
-
Benjani re-signed for Portsmouth a few weeks back.
-
I wasn't even that big on Muntari from what I saw of him at Portsmouth tbh, was surprised that Mourinho saw enough in him to take him to Inter.
-
Can't see us signing Muntari. Not that young, high wages, arguably on the way down, not French enough. Doesn't really add up if he doesn't tick even one of the boxes we generally look out for.
-
I'm not on the internet 24/7, please accept my apologies. Loser.
-
So classy he could play for the mackems, what a guy.
-
He's 6 foot 2, isn't he? Sure he can bulk up a bit if needs be. I'd quite like us to sign him, sounds like he needs a new start and he's easily still young enough to turn things around. Could see him succeeding here and his versatility would be a big asset. Edit: haha OK then, you're talking about Ferguson you confusing buggers.
-
It's a shame Ajax never really challenge in Europe anymore, they seemed a really big club when I was growing up. They haven't even won the Dutch league that many times in the last 15 years either.
-
I think Redknapp's done a good job there in all honesty.
-
Yep, looks way off the pace. Gets caught in possession repeatedly, which is in stark contrast to last year when you couldn't get the ball off him. Hopefully it's been spotted and they're working on it, I think we're past the point where we can blame his naff pre-season. He's such an important player for us that we need him on form in the games he's available. I know this is getting chucked about every other post regarding Cheik, but isn't he fasting for Ramadan? Certainly isn't his usual self and I don't get how he can go from being so class to so naff. Aye, sounds about right. Fucking stupid tbh, we did a sponsored fast at our primary school when I was about 9, you'd have thought he'd have grown out of it. of all the people on here I'm not following you, is this because I live in East London? I'm only taking the piss anyway, I find the idea of Ramadan pretty commendable - it's just a shame it's not very compatible with being a professional footballer. Or anything really, I went to Uni with this lad who was a Muslim and he was always fucking starving during that month and it really affected his concentration.
