Portsmouth FC in yet more trouble - administration again?
Southerner replied to GG's topic in Football
If Pompey died horribley as seems to be heading toward I'd love us to purchase thier youth academy and keep it running, could be very cheap and very productive havng a southern youth team to pick from. Would be a bad idea to call it SOUTH NEWCASTLE FC. Think it would be fire bombed. -

Really? I've not noticed that in the quarter of a century i've lived here. I think you're talking total shite mate. Out of the say 50 people i regularly speak to at the pub i'd say 10 have season tickets to pompey, 5 to southhampton and 5 to big 4 teams. That's a pretty good average for an island off the south coast. I'm not going to say Newcastle Is worse because it isn't, it's ferverous up there but to say south of england no-one likes football because there are so few big sides is not the case. -
Getting the feeling with every passing hour that the title of this thread is here to stay until ' Gosling Sign new Everton Contract until 2015 ' in about a week. need to act faster!

Well come on he's right, we needed to control the midfield and let our faster/smarter players pull channels and opening with thier nous. The second we lost the midfield battle ( which was always a possibility with Gerrard playing out of position for 30% of the game ) we lost confidence and were run upon. 4-5-1 with no heskey. Like to see Johnson and Carrol really step up thier game over the next two years and see how they cope with the pressure of playing in the Euros.

Not relevent to this topic but ITV in general had Neil Young at I.O.W and didnt show a bloody song last year Or you could just live on the same street as me and get free tickets and party for 4 days without sleep. You know you've over done it when you're watching Pink swinging from the rafters thinking, ' she's actually quite good' But yes, the coverage was shit.

Tiss' shot was crazy hard. Delicate thing this, is it something that practice would help with or is it the pressure?

I tend to be exicted about these players i've not heard of, also like to score some tasty youth players from some big teams, I reckon tosic would be a good shout for a loan

Cmon lads now kiss and make up, Reguarding transfer fees, i used to know where i was but now it's just wild speculation. I mean how much would Van Arlholt cost? And I think it would be a good idea to have a pop at Upson from West ham aswell, think our back four would almost certainly be premiership standard.

I've got some family from leicester, he a few years ago put some cash on them getting back to back promotions and coming up this year, He's in for a hell of a payout if they do, Or he'll shit the bed. Leicester are in my opinion a 'bigger club' than the likes of Burnley and Hull and despite thier stadium being called 'Walkers' It would be nice to see them back up.

Especially as they might win the league this year and need further reinvestment to assist with strengthening the squad to maintain that position

He's very young and untested, and I doubt will not have signed another contract. It's feesable that there's low wages, maybe a buy out clause and other positives in it for us. Is it not possible, maybe probable we could snap him up for 5-6 Million? Would you sell him if you were Benfica? Could make 4.5 million euro's on what's merely a young prospect who is only currently a back up player. I don't think i'm being unreasonable by saying this isn't the same as me suggesting Pedro from Barcelona.

Airton from Benfica, quickly becoming a Fan hero. Brazillian Midfielder, And he served up Porto like a kipper on sunday inthe League cup over there, and yet no-ones really mentioning him. A snappy buy for Benfica at €2.6m in January, Only played 3-4 games though.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010/03/23/1845457/premier-league-to-bag-14bn-from-sale-of-overseas Premier League To Bag £1.4bn From Sale Of Overseas Broadcasting Rights - Report The Premier League is reportedly set to double its income from broadcasting rights from 2010-13, which will generate an estimated £1.4 billion. The Independent reports that the deals for telecasting rights in Albania and Russia are still said to be in the process of reaching fruition, but the earnings for clubs in the top-flight are set to increase from £10m to £23m from this summer. However, it is said that the average boost of £13m per club will not be split evenly. Instead, some of the money is expected to go as parachute payments, which will supposedly rise from £11.2m last year, to £16m from next term. Broadcasters are believed to have been in a bidding war to buy the rights to air Premier League games, particularly in Asia. Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour's Abu Dhabi royal family are believed to have coughed up over £200m to win the rights for the Middle East and North Africa. In some regions, however, the same partners are expected to be retained as Fox and Setanta will air the games in North America and the Caribbean, while Fox Latin will continue the same in South America. ESPN Star are also expected to continue broadcasting the matches across 18 major Asia countries.

He'll have had a year under his belt by then and if the core group of lads remains (which i imagine it will ) I reckon we could srcape our first year back in the premiership.
