That’s how I read it too, but my worry is who is buying Miggy and Lascelles between now and next year for any sort of fee? Thats not a guarantee. So when we inevitably can’t, are we OK with selling Gordon? personally I’d rather we buy what we can, and not be relying on future sales.

Planning to cover your PSR deficit with future sales seems naive, if that’s how I’ve read it. Who are we selling between this window and next? The dead wood we can’t already shift? Tripper and Wilson? Who will be even older by that point or out of contract? Unless he means a crown jewel or a wonderkid.

Our window has been shite so far, like. Starting the season having only added an understudy striker and a CB on a free (plus however many backup goalkeepers that we never hope to see play). Chuffed with Hall, but that doesn't strengthen our team from last season. I'm happy to entertain the whole 'You can't judge until the window is over', but you can't deny the season starting is a significant point to have not signed anyone that improves the first 11. Hoping it improves.

I agree thats the case, especially when we wait until their careers nosedive to consider selling. I'm not even sure what I'm arguing anymore. I just want the club to have better timing when it comes to selling.

100% but I think thats exactly the kind of move (Mitchell intervening) that would put eddies nose out. I think Eddie was bemoaning Elliot Andersons PSR-related exit, but you could argue it'd never need to happen had we/he entertained moving on Wilson or Trippier in Jan. I'm just trying to get my head around how this is all gonna work at the club. We need to get better at selling at the right time to benefit us.

I'd love to find out who Eddie would like to move on, other than the players who have been ostracised. This isn't meant to be negative towards Eddie, but he seems to be against selling anyone if you believe his interviews (Notably Wilson and Miggy).
