  1. Keeper should surely have been booked by now.

I’ve always argued that if we did have every Premier League match on TV, then it might be wise to do it by moving away from the 3pm’s. I’m not massively convinced that lower league, and non-league teams would take a hit. What was their attendance the weekend before the one just gone, compared to the weekend just gone, or the weekend before? Over the international break, women’s football filled the gap. 11k to see NUFC women’s. All the WSL, and Championship teams played at their clubs mains grounds. I’ve also argued that clubs should probably be doing non-league days. Imagine if SJP did a magic weekend style non-league weekend. You see 2 matches per day, could have North Shields vs whoever, West Allotment Celtic vs whoever on day 1, day 2 is Newcastle Benfield vs whoever, Morpeth vs whoever. £3 for kids, £5 for adults per day. Every year the teams change so everyone gets a chance to play at SJP and have a payday. On top of this, if the Premier League are earning such an increase in TV money, who’s to say you can’t just give grassroots football another £100m per season? That roughly translates to about £20k per team.
  4. I’ve still went ahead and emailed 2 members of the House of Lords expressing my concerns and to ask them to consider rejecting the proposals.
  5. Back in 2015/2016 I had a flat mate at uni who was from Norwich. She insisted that before he was famous, she used to go and see him play at Norwich University, and that he was a Norwich City fan. I was shocked when I saw him turning up to Ipswich games, sponsoring them, and then buying a percentage of them.
  6. Probably, but if no one is around to see you, you’re hitting Bambi instead.
  7. Motson was shit, utter fucking shit, he was just an older version of Drury. People seemed to like him because he had that old fashioned voice that everyone in sports commentary had since the invention of the radio, and because by the time he retired, was an old man.
  8. This is it. TV coverage full of ex players of said clubs. Commentators are fans of said clubs. Even listening to the earlier match on the radio, I didn’t even know that Southampton were playing. It’s done on purpose. Those neutral fans, let’s push them to the big clubs, those fans in different countries, get your Liverpool/Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea/Spurs scarfs. Look at the coverage today. Super Sunday consisting of the countries 2 most successful clubs, up against the favourites for relegation. One of those clubs are in the position they are now because 10 years ago they had to sell all their decent players to the team they were up against today.
  9. It’s Alan Smith, cunt couldn’t form a decent response if he was given a thesaurus.
  10. Man Utd customers have pinched the Almirón song for their manager.
  11. Fucking hell, the commentary, absolutely fucking lifting. Going on as he’s hit a stoppage time screamer in the final of the cup final to win it.
  12. I can’t put my finger on it, but I can’t get away with Potter myself, I even thought that when he was at Brighton. Credit to him for how he went away to build his way up into the roles he’s got, but there is something about him that I don my like.
  13. Worlds apart really. They started off with no confidence, which just invited pressure, and got them off to a pretty bad start. Absolute horrific refereeing though. But ultimately, they are worlds apart, and the new lasses are the worst performers.
  14. So reading up further of it, apparently these amendments have to go to vote. If just 1 Lord or Baroness votes against it, then the amendment gets thrown out. Our best bet is to get Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay who is a Newcastle fan, to vote against it. He even opened the reading of the bill the day the amendment was proposed with stories of his love of Newcastle United. It is worth noting that he is a Conservative who believes very much in the free market, so he may also be against it in that aspect. I don’t know if there are any other sitting Lords who are Newcastle fans who would vote against it?

If they did do direct to consumer distribution, then they would likely end up also changing the distribution model. On the international distribution schemes, the top 6 already receive a greater proportion of revenue compared with the rest of the league. I’d say they would do something like you can subscribe via your own club, and if you do that, then your club gets a greater percentage of the fee on top of what is equally paid out, however if you subscribe via the Premier League, then they will distribute more of that fee to the top 6 clubs, under the assumption that they are likely being you in as a fan, instead of the other clubs.
  16. It would be at and odds of existing law though.
  17. It is the House of Lords proposing this amendment, which will be debated on Wednesday.
  18. Portsmouth went bust because of their debt to owners. As the Premier League have only just voted to ban non market value ownership loans this week, and because they have been told not doing so would be illegal, it is further evidence that they had no intent of stopping clubs from doing a Portsmouth.
  19. The amendment will be debated in the House of Lords on Wednesday. I think someone will come back to them and say that it may fall foul of U.K. law in regards to ownership of a company, and could be tested. Others may argue that it is overreach of what the bill intends to do, which is to set aside some basic rules which the football authorities have to adhere too. I would also argue that it specifically targets 1 club, which is against the spirit of law writing/creation. If the amendment passed, it would have to go back to the House of Commons who would also have the ability to accept, or reject the changes. Again, the issues, both the spirit of them, and legality of them would be debated. Assuming it did pass all of these, I would assume the club would just spin off from PIF, and be put into private equity portfolio, which is how the City group who own the majority of Man City is owned.
  20. The Premier League rejected their proposed sponsorship with Riyadh Air.
  21. For what it’s worth, I’m going to email Chi and say that this clause is being proposed by a Liverpool fan who is speaking on behalf of his club in their attempts to retain a portion of domination in football, and not on behalf of the people of the country, and or those within football. Therefor his actions of proposing such a clause is un-ethical, and that it should be disregarded, and himself warned and/or punished for his actions.
  22. Man City are technically owned by a private investment group, where as we are owned by a sovereign wealth fund. We will end up being owned in a similar manner to Man City. Man City will just change their directors.
