That finish is how I expect every Premier League striker to finish every goal, every shot.

It’s the same as the one against us, and a week later that they conceded. It’s soft, but it’s a penalty.

We all saw how long the queue system was, and how accurate the estimated time was. Enough people said that they couldn’t get tickets because of it for them to change it. Why are season ticket holders kicking off about it in anyway? They already have theirs, and they get priory on cup games.

Simple. I don’t work in an office, I can’t use a phone at work most of the time. I get breaks or times when I can, but I don’t control when they occur. In my last job (retail) there was no chance of being able to sit on an online queue. It worked for you, well fucking done. It didn’t work for many other people though, and it’s not your place to dismiss that.

I agree you can’t blame tourists our day trippers when you have an estimated 35k season ticket holders who are telling us they are forever loyal, and dedicated to supporting the team. It’s idiotic to blame the ballot though. As I say, it was shit having a ballot at 10am on weekdays when the only people who could access it were people who either work from home, or work at a computer. It needed changing, that’s all NUST fed back, and rightly so. In terms of tickets, we are never going to have a situation that suits everyone until SJP has been expanded. It’s that simple. We also need to get off the gate from certain season ticket holders vs non-season ticket holders. We all love our club, we have all supported our club, and in the Ashley years both sides made difficult decisions to continue or not, no one should be chastised for the decision they made.

Since Shearer scored that goal against them, we have had a good record at home against them.

I was in Leeds Christmas market, so wasn’t able to keep up to date with scores and such. Managed to sit in a beer garden and was talking to one of my nieces who is a Leeds fan about football and remembered that we were playing and our game had finished. Saw the score, just hoping we got a point considering our injuries, and saw that we won 4-1 and immediately became happy, for my fiancée to remark that ‘See, there’s that smile he gets when Newcastle win’. The desire to see the highlights from our match made standing on the aisle of a train that had 2 trains of cancelled people added on to it nearly bearable.

Massively helped by Everton being deducted points though, and thus looking comfortably safe so far.

Nah, you’d think Poland should comfortably overcome them.

But clubs, and fans have been calling for stronger punishments for FFP. I agree that FFP just creates a glass ceiling, and I agree that Everton are the first to be made an example of, but it has to start somewhere.

They haven’t though. Everton’s losses were nearly £400m, meaning they at minimum spent £700m over a 3 year period. They were allowed deductions due to some of it being related to the new stadium. Their Covid losses were over double what the 2nd highest club to report covid losses (Arsenal) was at. They point to 1 player who they let go and valued him at £10m. This is a player who is allegedly under investigation for serious crimes. Look at the Greenwood situation and realise this guy had no value, despite them saying they released him for his own mental health for nothing. They have also been investigated and found guilty of trying to conceal their losses by the Premier League. In an era where every club, and fan base is up in arms with FFP and not wanting clubs to be able to spend casts sums of money, how much leeway are the Premier League supposed to give Everton?
