It’s away from the retail core, but still city centre. It would be much easier to get too for away fans, and those to the west, and south of the city. The thing about a stadium there is that if you build it there, you are having to redevelop the whole area around it, because those garages, show rooms, even under the tunnels, is all grim as fuck. To be honest, building a new arena on there would have been great, if they decided to do the whole area up. You do on the plus side, have a heck of a lot of land to build an excellent stadium with a decent footprint.

I think the planning permission is due to lapse soon. In saying that, until they start developing it, it would likely be available for fee, just like the Strawberry land. You would need to develop the whole area around it though, because it is fucking grim around all those garages.

I think any new stadium/redevelopment we get, will be on a larger footprint. Concourses are bigger these days, offer more facilities etc. There are plenty of NFL stadiums that fit within or just over a city block in the USA. It’s usually the parking which takes up massive amounts of room.

I felt like some of it was forced. Why would they need to go to Alnwick castle for an executive meeting? It was shit that they spend 10 minutes focussing on the Gordon deal, had put in a bid that was rejected, club couldn’t afford anymore, The next minute he has signed, Shearer says that we got the deal we originally wanted without showing, or explaining how that came about. The Saudi links were brushed away, as others have said, in a pointless way of bringing them up. There was no mention of the takeover taking forever, or a proper explanation of how the deal came about. It seems to be more of a a season review so far.
