Keep forgetting about Kelly. Who’s the other one? Hall? I know what you’re saying but it doesn’t really feel like a transfer.

Osulu, both signed and straight into the first team squad. Kelly will see significant game time this season imo.

Even with Botman out I'd be amazed if either of them are in anyone's strongest XIs, though. We've improved the squad but not the first XI. Failure to do that this window would be awfully poor.

Yeah, I meant squad rather than in our strongest 11.

Going to take solace in the fact that Spurs got to the 2019 Champions League final and maintained a top four finish after not signing anyone during the 2018 window. Hurts but we do still have a lot of quality.

We have signed two first teamers though

  4. Just had a survey from the club about some yellow container. Told them I don't use the turnstiles next to it but still asked me questions about how I navigate it and if it takes anything away from my match day experience.

    Amateur.

  5. Harvey Barnes - 815 mins, 101.87 mins per goal involvement

Anthony Gordon - 2976 mins, 141.71 mins per goal involvement

AG is however streets ahead on most (if not all) key metrics like key passes, successful dribbles, number of times fouled etc. It's a strange one, as he's a good player and slightly different to AG, however I think in hindsight that 40 odd million was perhaps better spent elsewhere. The opportunity clearly presented itself to us in a way that no other deal did. I doubt we said "Hang on, let's sack off that 40m right winger who will improve our first team and sign Harvey Barnes instead".

I really do wonder about what his expectations were too.

It will all be easier to manage once we get back into Europe, and have a good batch of games every week, and so we really need to do that this season.

I just hope he wasn't mis-sold anything as that would leave a bad taste and I don't think we can afford that perception like some other clubs can.

  7. Who knows, just going off what I've read on here. I'd understand if he wasn't happy but you'd have to question his expectations upon arriving at the club.

I got an enquiry come my way summer last year for the IT Manager role.

Pay was 20k less than I'm on.  T&C's were pretty Ashley-esq too.  25 days holiday.  No paid OT.  Work every other weekend (guessing match day) for nothing too :D - 2 days in the office non-negotiable.

Suffice to say I told them it was interesting but no thanks.

Yep, I was talking to a friend of an employee who was telling me something similar. I think they lean heavily on the fact that you're working for NUFC and that should mean something to a lot of people.

  9. Also, players coming out with this shit a week or so before the end of the transfer window never sits well with me. It's a threat if I've ever seen one.

  10. He's too good to not be starting in the Premier League, let's be honest. I'm just not sure what he thought was going to happen when he signed, with us already having Anthony Gordon in the squad. Did he just think AG was going to disappear [emoji38]

  11. I bet the pay isn't great. Saw a role at NUFC a few weeks ago that sounded similar to my current role (IT Service Management) and it was paying less, apparently the job was a piece of piss as well as "they do very little" [emoji38]

The obvious response to willing participation in group racism, to be fair to them.

    John Terry: captain. Leader. Legend.

My dad worked with his cousin and it turns out we're all pretty bang on with our perceptions.

  13. The more I think about the more I think it's a shame we didn't get Trafford in. A year or two working alongside both Pope and Ruddy would have surely been positive for his development.

Nah of course, assumption would be that Dubs and one other would have to go out.

I reckon we're stuck with Dubs (originally wanted Trafford to replace but couldn't shift him) and never wanted Vlachodimos. Ruddy was brought in as a slightly better Gillespie, but ultimately another version of him (someone who's going to train but never play)

What’s good about that is there’s only one you’d want starting a game for us.

We're never signing a good backup goalkeeper when we're signing a central defender for an insane fee and have zero purples at RW.

  16. Absolutely, but I doubt it's up to them. A season plodding around mid table (at best) in the Championship or a crack at the PL where you've got a real chance of making a bit of a name for yourself and establishing yourself as a decent option for a club in the lower half of the table, likely doubling your wage in the process? Tough one, that.
