Erm, discussion. thread/ I don' think there is much of a discussion to be had here regarding that specific situation involving Hatem. Consequently, it's 100% acceptable to pull out of 50/50s in certain situations. So what are the situations that are acceptable? How to you judge?

I think it can depend on the player in question and the situation as well. Obviously there would be a lot more to risk if a CB bottled a challenge than, say, HBA, at the other end of the field.

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this? Around us yesterday I heard a few whinges about Hatem pulling out of a 50/50 tackle near Wigan's penalty area. Do people think it's acceptable to ever pull out of a challenge?
