  1. I get the various FA's need money but jesus fucking christ Europe is in the grips of a second wave and they think having players travel all over the place now is a good idea? And yes the same argument can be made for CL and EL being scrapped/paused as well but at least thats more doable as you can have bubbles for each team, with internationals its not possible to put a secure bubble together as you have players coming from various clubs at various levels some who won't have remotely the same kind of steps a top level club can put in place
  2. there is a lot of mitigating factors for Kenny between injuries and Covid (two more today) but I just don't think we have the players to be remotely successful with the type of football he's trying to put in.
  3. thought the tabloid press had moved past all this shit after the attacks on sterling (for such crimes as having breakfast and buying batteries in poundland) failed miserably
  4. Alan Browne also tests positive and he played against England last night
  5. footballing pet peeve no 9876 teams wearing the away shirt when they clearly don't have to most especially when your at fucking home.
  6. wait they're letting people in for northern irelands game?!!
  7. the coloured vs people of colour terminology while outdated is understandable though he clearly should know fucking better he was the chairman of the FA its your job to keep up to date on this shit. Saw his comment re Asians in the IT department and its car crash stuff let alone the comments on being gay is a "lifestyle choice" or girls don't like having footballs kicked at them (who the fuck does?!)
  8. good of Everton to take one for the team and keep ole at the wheel
  9. Souness or McClaren, Souness gutted a pretty good team and started the decline which led to relegation. McClaren didn't do that kind of long term damage but he was utterly shocking with a team that should have been nowhere near relegation.
  10. well no, the broadcasters would make more with the ad revenue but that doesn't go to the clubs. The premier league cooked this up as they were unhappy about "giving away" the usually untelevised games to sky/bt/amazon.
  11. Surprised. Thought they’d just drop the price. been reported viewing figures have been fairly abysmal for them and I highly doubt Sky/BT were in the slightest bit pleased about the whole thing considering the negative pr they've been getting for something that isn't even their idea. Combine that with lockdown 2 in England and it just makes them look very bad to be trying to fleece more money out of people when theres rather a lot of people going back onto furlough and may lose their job permanently

    LOL at Lolro

tbf in the last 2 years or so its not been an unreasonable prediction
  13. oof thats awful stuff from the Leeds defence
  14. They should ban 'super league' players from playing for the national teams, like they did in cricket with the Kerry Packer tours. FIFA are backing all of this more than UEFA, aren't they? probably, FIFA doesn't like how much influence UEFA has with the CL, presumably with the "super league" that basically kills the CL and uefas cash flow so back it to the hilt and raise FIFA's prestige. Whole lot can go fuck off into the sun as far as I'm concerned, Fuck UEFA Fuck FIFA and fuck this Super League idea
  15. minus the costs to bt/sky for cost of showing it etc
  16. how is it breaching anti-competition laws? thats a big claim to make and you'd want to have some serious evidence to back it up or if it ends in court any judge would just dismiss it out of hand
  17. because England's Brave Harry Maguire was just trying to hug him in a show of sportsmanship obviously
  18. but they'll look at someones foot being brushed???
  19. VAR surely had to look at the Maguire grab there
  20. Perhaps the leaking of these plans was done to specifically pressure the PL into accepting the original Big Picture plans (where the top six have full control)? Although generally speaking I think a Super League has been always been unavoidable. inevitable maybe but I struggle to see how it will last long term, the clubs trying to get this going are all very used to winning all the time are they going to be happy being mid-table or near the bottom? Or will they say screw this back to Prem/Serie A/La Liga where we can be the big dogs all the time
  21. and personally I don't get the big appeal of a super league, for me the champions league is already getting stale seeing mostly the same teams in the knockout stages year after year so I certainly wouldn't pay extra money to watch a super league but hey maybe I'm weird
  22. It would be so satisfying to watch it go to a vote of some sort and the other 14 support them in fucking off. EDIT: Just saw that article mentions 'up to five clubs'. Poor Spurs just want to be loved, man. might be City they want rid of, do Juve Real Madrid Bayern etc want a team with unlimited money daring to threaten them?
  23. seems like a replacement for the champions league ie kick out the little teams and make sure they can't get back in, less a direct threat to the prem and more to uefa. The main threat to domestic football is the demand to make room in the calendar so they can play the "super league" on weekends to maximise tv revenue
