  1. Got to admit i am struggling to see how we could make a profit though. i cant see any way we're making profit this year reduced income wages while lower still are a huge percentage of our current income
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1242475/Mick-McCarthy-enters-race-Leeds-hot-shot-Jermaine-Beckford.html?ITO=1490 basically no more than we've offered
  3. they don't seem to have considered the possibility it could be bullshit which is an odd position as taking anything about ashley written in sunday papers unless it has direct quotes is not advisable
  4. Am I reading it wrong or does that last paragraph not just say the rest of that stuff isn't true? thats what it seems to read to me in which case
  5. didn't they have an article slagging off llambias a few months ago on their website?
  6. 7m profit per month? sweet jesus they're a bunch of morons if they honestly believe that more like 7m loss per month do they honestly think that the club is poised to make an 84m profit (by multiplying that 7m by 12) thats higher than the clubs projected turnover and what sources out of ashley and co would tell the nust anything?
  7. pointless story, its not like there isn't such thing as e-mail and phones to contact them
  8. a 4-5-1 with barton and smith in the middle with nolan off carroll or shola up front may be our most effective players we currently have and i certainly hope barton can help us improve our football but also to give nolan and smith a break now and then and rotate between barton smith and nolan with butt as emergency back up
  9. £150m was too much in the PL so no-one met his price. £80m was comically high for the state we were in the summer, so no-one met his price. When he names his price again, is it really any more likely to be met? Will he realise that investors are not queuing up round the corner to buy clubs? A number of major financial institutions will not touch football clubs after what has gone on at Man Utd and Liverpool. As for the concept that a low price would encourage a buyer who couldn't afford to run it- sorry- are we basically demanding that someone who buys the football club has some kind of moral obligation to pump tens of millions of pounds into it? It doesn't matter how much money any buyer has- if they pay what Ashley asks they are either very wealthy (unlikely to happen) or foolhardy. It was overpaying for the club in the first place which has driven Ashley to save face and ask for top-whack prices. I'd rather a businessman paid what it was truly worth- maybe that's the sort of level-headedness needed to run NUFC. the thing is ashley will want as much of the money hes put into the club back as he possibly can so he isnt going to lower the asking price, imo its a case of it will be known the club is for sale at the right price but not a case of desperate searching, he wants to sell but on his terms not anyone elses.
  10. methinks that south america may not have caught up with our relegation, or colo and jonas may have been to embarrassed to tell them
  11. how reliable is your mate. Can't see us offering cardiff 3.5m for chopra and not upping the offer for beckford but then what do i know
  12. so rafa finally in touch with reality
  13. 6 in 23.... 4 in 15. We've been through this already. 6 in 23 in a very shit team compared to 4 in the best team in the championship
  14. but mclean plays for a much shitter team than carroll does
  15. is it just me or is no one doing much in this window
  16. so on a sunday where there has been next to no football to talk about therefore the sunday papers already prone to making stuff up have even more column space to fill up and magically an article appears saying the club will be for sale at the end of the season with a source close to mike ashley exclusively telling the mirror of all papers this and people treat it as gospel truth? while it may be true putting faith in an article from any sunday paper let alone from a sunday red top is stupid
  17. out of interest when are our accounts released?
  18. Barton? Hum, I hope not. I'd rather he left it to the likes of Smudger and Nolan. Really? Because everything I hear about Barton's attitude around the training ground and with the younger lads sounds really positive, and that is from the likes of Nolan and Smith. I am pretty sure that if someone was disrupting the team spirit that the lads seem to have, the likes of Smith, Harper, Nolan and Barton would be the ones to sort it out. I'm sure there's more to Joey than the thug, but I still don't trust his temper. call me naive but i really think he's learned his lesson from his bad times and is a changed man who just wants to get on with football
  19. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/football/match_reports/championship/667751/VILLA-OFFER-STRIKER-TO-NEWCASTLE.html no
  20. i know tomorrows sunday and without much football to talk about the bullshit was likely to increase but this made me laugh http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sunderland-striker-Kenwyne-Jones-set-to-snub-Birmingham-in-the-hope-of-moving-to-a-Big-Four-club-in-the-summer-article283037.html apparently kenwyne jones fancys himself as a champions league player
  21. there is a 5.15 game in birmingham manure, should be on espn
  22. well everton are rumoured to be intrested but they're broke so cant buy him so he sits tight and waits and see who comes in for him at the end of the season and picks up a nice signing on fee in the process when he does find a club
