  1. The Spanish National Football team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! El villancico de la Roja "Si tenemos a Villa y somos cinco.¿Por qué no cantamos un Villancinco?"
  2. Steven Gerrard cruising that vote, what a farce. Very good player in his prime, but certainly not "the best" by a significant distance. Went with Henry, even though Bergkamp is my favorite player from an aesthetic perspective.
  3. He'll be branded a racist and his image, endorsements and status will be damaged beyond repair. He's f***ed. Does he have any image to protect? I thought everyone was aware he was a prize cunt after all the shit he's been involved with the past years.
  4. The FA will be forced to hand him a hefty ban (particularly after the one given to Suárez) if he is found guilty.
  5. "Mono" it's pretty common in SA goalkeepers, particularly eccentric ones. El Mono Montoya, El Mono Burgos... just refers to the animal's agility and unpredictability.
  6. Ah, apparently it's Guillem Balagué who broke the news, 100% not happening then. He claims we'll pay €60m( ) in total, and that terms have been agreed with the player.
  7. As I said, I don't give much credit to Neymar transfer rumors since we have had 85847335 "deal in place" reports since the summer, but both Barcelona newspapers are saying that we have made a €10m payment to secure Neymar at an unknown date , Santos would have to pay €20m to cancel it.
  8. Went on to become a superstar at Hull, I felt vindicated by that
  9. To be frank, must be fucking grim being a racist sports fan. Whites suck at most of them.
  10. To be fair, the flashy-but-not-really-true headline is a staple of sports reporting over here too.
  11. How many until 20k? And you still look good in these rankings.
  12. Man, what possessed you to go to that cesspit?
  13. Valencia after Lars Bender, according to a major Spanish radio. Man, the Futurama jokes if it came to pass
  14. Isn't it a regional derby? Should be good with all that's on stake.
  15. Speaking of Lowe, his writeup his week excellently underlines how rotten Atlético are. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/dec/19/atletico-coach-club-la-liga
  16. Very up and down. Can't speak for back in the day but his Racing team this season has been so defensive it's untrue. Scored less than a goal a game with arguably the 2 best attackers in the league. Came 2nd though altho the league was a lesson in mediocrity in the Apertura. Just checked his wiki, seems to have done reasonably well but 6 teams in 5 years? Ridiculous
  17. No. Our board apparently met his agent in Japan though. Anyway, there have been 12142354346545633 "done deals" in the press with either Madrid or Barcelona since the past summer. I stopped caring about any Neymar transfer news.
  18. Has Simeone done well as a manager in Argentina? Otherwise looks like a populist signing that will appease the fans but probably will end up in tears.
  19. http://www.danbbs.dk/~salvador/Fotos/j-rochemback.jpg Where do I sign? Man, when I think that 8-9 years ago we had a Rochemback-Motta-Cocu midfield... sobering thought.
  20. Atlético are utterly bankrupt (they remind me a lot of you in your late Shepherd years, throwing money and more money in failed managers and players without real sense of purpose), they've been somehow papering over the cracks but truth is they don't have a pot to shit on. That makes it even more puzzling when they spend the entire Agüero transfer fee on a single player...
  21. I'd say David Silva, but having watched him a long time in La Liga I'll go for somebody different and say Modric, who I have always loved, and an honorable mention for Aaron Ramsey. Hugely impressed me this season.
  22. It was just a 8-year loan, with us having to pay his wages in a lump sum
  23. One of our vice-presidents: "Arsenal were right, Cesc was really worth €65m"
  24. 3 year deal with City, why he signed it I don't know. Me neither, the boy is clearly talented but he'll never get a chance at City.
  25. Living on a Guardiola dreamland myself right now, great way to head off to our Christmas break (after the cup game this thursday) Anyway the Madrid press now saying that Benítez is the new frontrunner for Atlético's bench. In more amusing news, Sevilla's president Del Nido has been sentenced to 7 years of jail for fraud in his business as a lawyer. He can still appeal.
