  1. Tried to make a Bilbao one, until I realized it's mostly their current starting XI+Aduritz given their transfer policy. But they have one of the best youth setups in La Liga (they have to). Iraizoz Iraola San José Amorebieta Asier del Horno Yeste Gurpegi Javi Martínez Muniain Llorente Aduritz
  2. As said, Messi, Iniesta, Busquets and Puyol didn't start football at the club, but moved in when they were teens without money changing hands. We paid for Pedro so I left him out.
  3. Also Madrid could put out a decent team if they had bothered. Casillas Arbeloa Pavón Mejía Raúl Bravo Granero Jurado Borja Valero Mata Soldado Raúl/Negredo (Raúl was an Atlético boy but they dissolved their youth setup and joined Madrid on a free)
  4. Mmmm... if no transfer paid is the criteria. Valdés Bartra Puyol Piqué Fontàs Busquets Xavi Cesc Messi Bojan Iniesta
  5. One of the first "classic" English legends I knew about. RIP.
  6. Madrid's DoF Jorge Valdano just said that the transfer "it's complicated". Still can't see this being a good idea. Mou's Real Madrid have a good dynamism going for them and really can't see RvN providing that.
  7. Every time I see the name of a Blackpool player in the scoresheet I wonder who the hell he is. Most overachieving set of players of recent times, I barely recognize 1/3 of their squad.
  8. I think that's not his real name actually. EDIT: Wikipedia answers He just adapted it to sound more western I guess.
  9. Hope Avram Grant lines up all the U18s just to fuck them over
  10. Adebayor is the fan favorite for being Real Madrid's next signing, according to a poll by Marca
  11. poor VI. Skirge is having an effect on him. I have a fkn effect on you all and you know it
  12. It's a friendly though, doesn't tie him up to Nigeria IIRC.
  13. Fkn hell, can't wait to hear what Baba thinks of this
  14. Heard that Tim Cahil guy was pretty good. That's why I didn't mention him, he actually still plays at a high level and gets in the team on merit instead of coasting on name and past achievements.
  15. Yeah, he looks so lethargic nowadays, and that was the only thing he had going for him as a player.
  16. I love watching Australia play, I only need to imagine Viduka is still there and it's like I'm 25 again. Aren't there any other footballers in that place than Schwarzer, Emerton, Kewell and Culina?
  17. To be fair, 99% of all teams on Earth would look woeful to you. I'm having fun Hehe, don't expect a tiki-taka display every time I tune in a game, but the possessions are very short and you don't see many things coming out from the players. Australia are very slow and scrappy and seem to have dragged Korea - which I remember as a spirited side - down to their level.
  18. Why do I giggle every time I see a Korean named "dong". Am I racist?
  19. Both sides are rather woeful tbf. Very scrappy game.
  20. Yah, missed it while I was fixing lunch. Now that I see the repeat it was pretty awful defending by Australia, he was lone in the box.
  21. Think I'll tune in, should be the most decent game so far in this thing.
  22. We played the Real Madrid supporters club about six months ago. We lost something like 17-1 f***ing hell, was Cronaldo spending his holidays in Korea? Well, multitude of factors. They're pretty close to an actual amateur football club in that they have regular practice sessions etc. We're just a bunch of lads who get together for a kickabout once a month or so. Also they draw from a pool of members that's several times larger than ours. You can imagine how there would be quite a bit more Real Madrid fans than Newcastle fans in this country. What are the biggest foreign clubs in there? The only Korean football fans I met are all Manchester United fans. Man United is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else for obvious reasons. Basically most Koreans with a passing interest in European football are Man United "fans." After that it's probably Liverpool, Arsenal, Real, Milan, Inter, and Juventus. Chelsea isn't popular at all for some reason and Barca is surprisingly underappreciated. Newcastle is probably the fourth most popular Premiership club, shockingly enough Yeah I know, our board has been laboring to increase our profile there, hence our friendlies this summer. These Qatar Foundation shirts and Messi spread posters need to be moved...
