Turns out West Ham were just really shit. Woeful stuff today.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

Love him but he'll never succeed anywhere better than the likes of us without being mildly capable defensively. Proper bottle job today. -
What's the threshold for a sprint?

Terrible decision, FIFA are passionate about making international football worse. Ireland will be whacking the feelers out.

Haven't paid a tenner for the shite but promising to see another of the new signings seemingly bed in well. Will be very interesting to see how we fare against teams which aren't hopeless but so far so good. Be amazed if we recoup anything on wor Joe mind. Bless him.

Utter nonsense, and tbf you spouted nonsense throughout the match. We get it, Brewcievis the antichrist.

Very enjoyable that. Obviously West Ham are even more of a disgrace than us but good to see us playing some football and the new lads all performing. After the tedium of last season desperately wanting to try and enjoy watching us play again, as difficult as that is under Ashley and with empty stadiums. Positive start.

Is that not you? ? Got a season ticket at Shields, essentially an ultra. Was referring more to the tourists and corporate types who litter Premier League grounds. Fair enough. How much they go for? Ton? Probably cheaper if standing but think mine's over £200. Not cheap for the level like.

Highly recommend some South Shields gloryseeking. Should be regularly hitting 2000 attendance given NUFC / SAFC continued commitment to being wank, if fans are ever allowed back in. Non League a much better product these days anyway. No EPL day trippers & no VAR.

By all accounts a perfectly decent bloke, simply not up to the job. No idea why people feel the need to work themselves up into such a frenzy of hatred. All football managers / players chat utter shite in their interviews, he is no different.

Newcastle United 1-3 Liverpool - 26/07/20 post match from pg9

Exactly. Get a load of grief for not backing every protest going, they've put more time into the club than 99% of the weirdos who slate them. Far more representative of your average fan than your social media drama queens. Very good summary they've put up their mind. -
To be fair it's his job to be mildly positive, he can't really be expected to come out and admit we intend to do the absolute bare minimum to survive, yet again. Can tell he's at full mast over the thought of beating Rafa's points total mind. Have little against the bloke but the sooner his mangled beak is no longer in the dugout, the better for all involved.

Pretty confident nobody adulates Rob Elliot or despises Ayoze Perez. Was always amazed by the level of intense fewm a backup GK could inspire. Wonder if Arsenal fans are still frothing at the mouth at the very memory of Alex Manninger. No one despised Ayoze? Sure, that's why he invented a goal celebration to shut out... all the love he was getting? His thread here was a sewer at times. You're having a laugh. Whey, he got a lot of undeserved stick over the years due to a perceived lack of consistency. Find me a player who hasn't been griefed on the Internet for being imperfect. Don't think you'd realistically find anyone who valued Rob Elliott's contribution over his though...... Nah, Ayoze was absolutely hated by a large section of our fans - and I say that as someone who had to argue against some utter morons that, no, he wasn't a soft shite fancy Dan who'd fall over and not create anything. And if you did a poll of both players amongst match going fans - "Glad he's gone" versus "wish he was still here" I'd be pretty confident Rob fucking Elliot would get a more positive response. Perhaps before the phenomenon known as "the Joelinton effect" occurred. What's the Joelinton effect? If it's what I think it is then I think a more appropriate term might be, ironically, the Rob Elliot effect; in that it happened with him first... Haha, possibly. The effect being the replacement making you long for what you had before. Feel like pua shit just want her back.

Aye, seems a genuinely decent bloke. Best of luck to him.

Totally agree and this pretty much mirrors my experience growing up. There was a year when Hartlepool had £50 season tickets for kids (£100 for adults). I had season tickets for both NUFC and Hartlepool that year - as it worked out it was worth it even if I only went to 7 or 8 of the Pools games. If every NUFC game was on TV, I doubt I'd have ever gone in the first place nevermind ended up getting an ST. Even now I will often go and watch a Northern League game if Newcastle aren't on TV. If NUFC were on TV there would be no doubt I'd be in the pub watching it with mates. A drop of a few hundred fans for Hartlepool, or of 20-30 for a Northern League team, could be enough to kill them off. I have no doubt that every 3PM PL game on TV would destroy loads of clubs down the pyramid. Aye, one of the few areas in which the English game is superior to elsewhere is the significant support for clubs up and down the pyramid. The last thing we need is to encourage more dweebs to be full-time EPL customers. I've got a Shields season ticket atm. If there's the alternative of everyone watching the Newcastle match in the pub though, it's a difficult choice.
