You still want him as our manager going forward? If better is available, get them in. All I'm saying is that I don't want to kill Pardew and his family in a dramatic display of my support for DA TOON.

Must admit I still don't quite understand the vitriol He may not be a particularly good manager and may delve often into his book of excuses (as 90% of losing managers do), but the genuine anger he seems to instil in the typing fingers of purportedly sane individuals is somewhat bewildering. We'll stay up and hopefully move on to bigger things. Howay.
  3. Martinez uses positive words but is still dragging his team towards relegation. Divin't understand. Cheers Swansea.
  4. Erm, no. It's a daft question as the only measure we have of 'deservedness' is the league table. Therefore after 38 games, the league table will inform us as to whether we deserve to go down. At least make sense in your bait pls. But yes, Wigan will go down. Stop being so angsty bonny lad.
  5. This. As has been said, if we're in the bottom 3, we deserve to go down. No point in attempting to overcomplicate a reasonably basic concept with meaningless waffle.
  6. i think you're nuts. No offence, but I really do. They'll get nothing like that. Having that sort of GD swing against you is awful, but keep it in perspective, Wigan are way behind, and have to get the points. Perspective isn't something we specialise in. Your victory tonight signals the end. Wigan are irrelevant. What's the difference between people saying we're definitely going down and you saying Wigan are definitely going down? Neither are nailed on, only one team is in better form than the other. The difference is that only one eventuality will come to fruition. That will be Wigan's relegation.

  8. Nothing's changed in so much as we need the same points to stay up that we needed at 8pm. Wigan's game against Swansea is far more important than tonight's game. Well that's not right is it? If we'd finished on the same amount of points as Villa and stayed up on goal difference. Huge difference. Psychologically it's gargantuan. Wigan are going down though. So yes, the difference is minimal.
  9. Changes little, Wigan are going down.

Less of this nonsense Hans. As Wullie noted, it is a 100% certainty that we're going down. It's basic mathematics mate. There may be a 5 point gap and Wigan may be utterly woeful, but the numbers don't lie. Don't let the Pardew apologists bring you to their level. What's done is done.
  11. Pathetic management and pathetic players. Wish we could just sack the lot and start again.

Just going to ignore the fact that Spurs and Chelsea have quality throughout their squads, whereas our bench normally consists of James Perch and some tiny ginger lad? The comparisons aren't particularly fair. As for the proportion of blame conundrum. 50% Pardew, 50% players. It's verging on hilarious the lack of criticism the players actually playing the games have received this season despite their consistently shit performances. Obviously, Pardew has been equally as shite in his managing of the team, but even awful management can't account fully for our players' inability to string two passes together.
  13. Just watched an absolutely mortal David Meyler throw away Gs at Aspers. Watching someone with no footballing talent waste the equivalent of my yearly wage makes me want to kill. Irish freak.

We looked just as s*** playing in on the deck today. If anything, the option to play effective long ball may have won us the game. Sadly we have no real outlet for it. And with Tiote as the deepest midfielder frankly I think hoofball would be less dangerous. Mainly because of how deep we were, in any case hoofball is out of the question when Cisse is your centre forward. I just wish you'd stop trying to imply we have this really talented, technical midfield. Our lot consistently struggle to keep the ball under and pressure and generally create not a bastarding thing. Indeed. We're never going to achieve the attractive padding game everyone desires with the current mob, over 50% of the starting XI just aren't up to it technically. Sissoko and Goufrann don't appear to be the most intricate types and we continue to rely on the likes of Tiote and Jonas. Yet the mackems managed it? You and Ronaldo are a hoot. Utterly obsessed with the manager and the wonderful job he's doing under difficult circumstances. Of course, although I have said absolutely nothing to this effect. Just trying to redress the balance of blame between the manager and out supposedly greatest team in a decade.

Anybody? Go on then. For a start, I don't rate him highly or even have that much faith in him. That's even more the case after today. However, my position all along has been that he deserves next season based on last year alone. I saw enough during that season that I could be happy with as a supporter going forward. If things haven't improved after the start of next season, he should be replaced. I don't have very much faith that he'd be adequately replaced mind. As you say, he's obviously a good man manager and the players like him. I crave some form of stability here and, if he can reach the heights of last season again, I don't have any real personal dislike of him to prevent me wanting him as our manager. That's your opinion but my opinion of your opinion is that you only looked at result. Cause we were nowhere good enough last season for large spells to say we should've been happy with how we played. I can break down last season to you. We had a great unbeaten run in the beginning where confidence was high and the team was buzzing. The first difficult opposition we played we lost though. From losing that first game and forward we were not playing well and I'd like to remember in as much of a tactical mess as now and our early season run was holding us from falling down the table. We then reached a point in february where we were so terrible I couldn't stand watching us play. We bought Cisse and started playing Ben Arfa, the results changed and we rode their form all the way to the end. At no point was this team except the Man U game, tactically great. We were riding a lot of individual brilliances. Might seem harsh but that's how I saw last season and I remember Mick agreeing with me. I knew this was going to happen as soon as players started to hit rough patches like this season and injuries started hitting us. We relied heavily on our top players to perform. Not enough rewriting of history and arrogance for my liking.

he's a poor manager. Regardless of whether or not you want the best for NUFC if you cannot see that you're mental. If you'd referred to him as a poor manager after the Chelsea 2-0 you'd almost certainly have been labelled a mental tbf. Your concern for my mental constitution is touching though Hans. Thank you x

Not sure why I expected anything other than a barrage of abuse for suggesting giving Pardew another year after that performance. Fwiw, I also want the best for NUFC unsurprisingly. Actually quite apathetic towards the decision of whether he stays or not. The alternative options aren't particularly appetising at all. Hopefully a couple of decent additions and a luckier season on the injury front will result in a campaign more similar to last year's. So aye, for reasons unknown to even myself, I'd give him another year. Soz.

Not sure if I'm disabled, but I'd still give him next season. Obviously wouldn't be in tears if we found a suitable replacement, but the chances of that happening are slim thanks to Big Mike. Pleased for those who have their week of Pardew gloating to look forward to. Enjoy it.
  20. Gutted. Awful, absolutely awful. Some of our players are horrific technically. Jonas and Tiote were vile today. Vile. Avoiding anything football related for a week.
  21. You're acting like the football hasn't been wank for 90% of this season. It has. "Stop going on like the manager's comments mean the football will be wank and he's making excuses early" or words to that effect. I base what I say on what I've seen this season, your comments seem not to extend beyond "stop moaning" and there's nothing else to it. The league campaign this year has been consistently awful, not once have I denied this I just can't abide the constant, boring tearing apart of every minute detail of Pardew's management. Quotes in random interviews are being analysed on a Saturday neet and seen as suitable evidence to judge his whole footballing ethos. The reality tomorrow will be completely different.
  22. Who the fuck sits and reads interviews man, nevermind taking what is said in them at face value. We'll be reasonably attacking tomorrow and beat the creeps, that's all that matters.

Leave ground on a surprising wave of positivity, log onto here and considering chiselling my wrists off. Best go to kip.
  24. Back hyem. Class effort second half, but edged out by the better team. Was proud to be an NUFC fan in SJP after that reaction to the Benfica goal. Onto the mackems.
