  1. The other way of looking at it is why would he hike the prices up so much in the midst of a takeover if he's not going to be here to reap the benefits of it? You would expect him to leave things as they are.
  2. Their ticket prices are actually quite reasonable, especially considering the amazing football they get to watch.
  3. Our average (1 year standard) season ticket price is the 6th highest in the league. Only Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool are more expensive. Another Ashley myth is that he's made football more affordable as well.
  4. 20% increase last summer and a further 5% increase this summer
  5. Watched a couple of games and just can't get into it. The overall standard seems poor and it's not physical enough for me. Some of the goalkeeping has been farcical! Scorelines like 13-0 won't do it any favours. Stadiums have also looked pretty sparse so it mustn't have captured the locals imaginations either.
  6. I hope he spills the beans on what goes on at that club but then again we all know how they operate. Keegan told us all about them.
  7. Resigned to him leaving tbh. Just got to hope this supposed takeover materialises and they can get a good replacement in. In reality I'm expecting Mike Ashley with Mark Hughes as manager but I suppose at least I can just walk away completely if that is the case.
  8. This lad isn't normally a bullshitter and only posts if he has some genuine info.
  9. How's your asking 5000 for a 500 pound car theory coming along? Get back to me when you understand the difference between a theory and a metaphor. If you seriously think Ashley has been an active and serious seller for years then be my quest but I think you find yourself pretty alone in that corner. Because nobody has matched his price, not rocket science but seems a bit hard for you to understand. If Ashley is to be believed (yes I know) the club has been up for sale for a Decade now. Just look at how many other clubs (that weren't necessarily up for sale either) have changed hands in that time. If he was serious about selling he could have done so a long time ago.
  10. Graves has made a bit of a gaff there. Firstly Wise could never be classed a legend and after the way him and Ashley shit on Keegan and were proven to have lied and misled the supporters in a court of law the word "legend" could certainly never be applied to him in our neck of the woods. I can understand the photo, that's just being professional in the job he's in, but the comments were unnecessary.
  11. Costing Ashley nothing It's not being done for free.
  12. Old advertising boards being replaced by more up to date LED signage. Lots of seats being replaced and the stadium getting a good clean up. Costing Ashley a few quid but well overdue.
  13. Fair play to them, I guess. Not really like because when the marrachute payments run out their main income stream will be though the gate. Their 25k average wont give them much financial advantage over teams averaging half of that at those prices. Once again they'll be relying on someone to bankroll them like Short did.
  14. Their gate receipts for the entire season totalled £6.6m. Their average crowd was 27,700 meaning that, on average the fans pay a tenner a head to get in!
  15. Fair play to Henderson. Managed to escape that shit hole at an early age and at the first opportunity and has ended up having a really good career.
  16. Bit of a sickener for these Spurs fans. The plane is still on the tarmac at Stansted!
  17. The sister and law, who to her credit has kept her season ticket on through thin and thinner, 15 point season/19 point season/double relegation etc has called it a day and wrapped it in. Spent £800 on two wasted trips to Wembley and that's enough for her now. She didn't cancel her season ticket in time though and they've already managed to get another DD payment out of her account which she's foaming about
  18. Yeah that's the treble then! Seat Dumpers Cup Fatlass Shittininafountain Trophy Charity Drivewaydumpers Shield Congratulations to our classy neighbours is in order Quadruple. One of them had a shit on a London Underground station platform last season.
  19. yup. hate these with a passion. but that shit spouted by meth is absolutely disgusting but totally expected from a public school toff. absolutely no awareness of the problems faced up here especially on wearside. quinn and short may not have been great but they developed some kind of understanding of the area and what the club means to the city. Surely with all these "branches" they claim to have all over the UK and beyond they could have mustered up enough support to at least match Charltons turnout at Wembley. Even the ones who did bother their arses to go along just sat there in silence as he mentions. They're not the great fans they claim to be.
  20. So that's their current owners, ex chairman Niall Quinn, and going back further, their old charman Tom Cowie who have all came out publicly and slated their fans. Maybe they just aren't as good a support as they like to tell everyone they are?
  21. Isn't it just great having these as our local rivals. The gift that just keeps on giving
  22. Sold 33k of their 38k allocation. Going to be well outnumbered by Charlton Athletic who have sold almost 39k. Poor showing that, especially on the back of hardly any of them turning up for the 2 Semi Final games against Portsmouth either. Best fans in the world though marra.
  23. Might go up to Hibs with it just being a couple of hours up the road. I say might as it will depend 100% on whether Rafa is manager or not.
