  1. Used to be a waiting list for all those green blocks in L7. Around 2k available tickets up there now!
  2. I don't believe that for a minute! Why would anyone who didn't bother last season rush out to buy one as soon as they go on sale for this season after what's happened. I reckon your mate is full of shite and he must be thick as pig shit as well to let his season ticket lapse so that he loses any loyalty discount and now has to pay the price increase.
  3. The high availability in the East Stand tells you all you need to know about how season ticket sales have collapsed. There hasn't been as much availability in there since the summer of 1991. This is where the majority of the oldest, most longest serving fans sit, many of them have sat there since it was opened 45 years ago, and you can now buy 2 seats together on half way which is unheard of since the season ticket culture kicked in. Sales are definitely well below 25k and I'd estimate nearer to 20k than 25k as well. The penny is finally dropping!
  4. Don't be fooled. They've done exactly what I thought they might and have simply not released 1000's of unsold seats for sale. The giveaway is that if you click on 2 of the most unpopular areas, namely Leazes L4, blocks W and X where, even under Rafa when season ticket levels were very high, these areas were still less than 50% populated by ST holders, they are are now showing all but sold out, but cleverly they've kept the odd 2, 3 or 4 seats available scattered around in case any idiot wants to buy, and take their family along with them. Also, one of the lads I work with, who hasn't renewed, checked to see if they'd released his seat when they went on general sale this morning and his is still greyed out. Personally I'd take the stadium plan with a pinch of salt if using it to try to gauge how many haven't renewed.
  5. All he has are his cretin points ... yet he complains as much as anyone else . For some people the penny will never drop Guaranteed he doesn’t go to any away games. I haven’t had a season ticket in over a decade and have easily been able to go to away games, although I only took up a handful. As if loyalty points mean anything anyway. It must be great sitting at Old Trafford watching another drubbing. Forget Wembley, you’re more likely getting to a final watching Gateshead than the Toon. My only Wembley trip was with Gateshead FFS Cretin points, love it ha ha To be fair he’s travelled to China Organised the boats down the Thames last season as well.
  6. Monday will give a huge indication of crowds next season. Some strong claims on Twitter that only 23k season tickets have been sold and as they go on general sale on Monday everyone will be able to see for themselves (unless NUFC play games and only release a certain percentage of available seats for general sale to cover things up a bit). If the 23k figure is true there's not a hope in hells chance that 20k extra people are paying match by match to take the figure over 40k. As things stand it'll be more like 5k and that's including away fans as well. The Gallowgate singing section in block V has even disbanded. I've certainly never known it like this before.
  7. Not a chance next season as things stand.
  8. Got into Rugby League a few years ago after they brought Magic Weekend up here and we've had season tickets at Newcastle Thunder for the past couple of seasons now, which we absolutely love and tbh I'm more into following them than NUFC these days. Only problem there is that RL is a summer sport running from the end of february through to the end of September so my winter spectating will be groundhopping between the local Northern League grounds, Heaton Stan, Whitley Bay etc. If I want to watch a higher standard with some atmosphere we'll jump in the car and head over to watch Carlisle. Done that loads of times and it's a really good day out. Lovely old fashioned ground.
  9. If the 23k figure for season tickets is correct, and I've no reason to doubt it is, the crowd will be around 30k I would have thought. Can't see them selling more season tickets on the back of appointing Steve Bruce as Rafa Benitez replacement, if anything there'll be more cancellations than season tickets sold from here on in, then add on 3k Arsenal fans and a couple of thousand idiots buying on general sale they'll be lucky to hit 30k.
  10. Someone on Twitter was saying ST sales are around the 23k mark. They had 36k season ticket holders last season.
  11. Wouldn't be surprised if Cattermole is brought in to play alongside this ginger prick in the centre of our midfield next season.
  12. Wonder if this is a result of the "form an orderly queue" kid getting the bullet?
  13. Remember this when he was manager of the mackems and we sang Cheer up Steve Bruce at the end? "It is 71 days until the next Derby at our place, not that we are counting. I hope we can repeat the same dosage when they come to our place. It was typical of that club's etiquette".
  14. I still don't see this going through purely because I still don't see Ashley simply taking his money and walking off into the sunset. He's still got Rangers by the bollocks even though he never actually owned them and I'm as certain as can be that he'll still be wanting his pound of flesh by way of taking a huge cut of future merchandising sales, and clauses inserted so his advertising can remain prominent and that's just something I can't see any potential buyer agreeing to. I think ideally he'd rather sell to Peter Kenyon. Someone who can't afford the club outright but can basically hire it off him so to speak by paying in installments meaning Ashley can still call the shots and take his money out. Not too dissimilar to how the new mackem owners bought them off Short.
  15. Let him sell them. He loses even more money once we go down.
  16. Out of my family, close friends and work colleagues, which I'll admit is a drop in the ocean compared to the overall amount, less than half have currently renewed their tickets for 19/20. 4 of those who haven't cancelled have only kept theirs going because they've already being paying for next year since March and they dont want to just write that money off. They'll be cancelling in January though if things are still the same. Tbh I can quite believe 1/3rd have decided to call it a day and won't be surprised if the actual figure is slightly higher.
  17. That would put current season ticket sales at around the 25/26k mark then. In other words they have to sell out half almost half the stadium to single sales to get the usual 50k+ crowds. Not going to happen even against the top teams, especially with the pricing structure. Average gate next season between 32-35k then. Still too many but a huge step in the right direction.
  18. How many regular away travellers is there? 3k or so? Ok so loyalty points might be their excuse but what about the other 35k?
  19. https://twitter.com/UltraStarTime/status/1147142091824345088 Genuinely curious how he thinks this could be a really good season with no manager and a threadbare squad. He'll be booing them and storming out in a huff way before full time by the end of August.
  20. Was that Greg off here? Either way he spoke very well and put a lot of misconceptions about the club to bed. Good to see the presenter letting him speak and not trying to talk over him as well.
  21. Shola did the same a few months ago. Got a job out of it at the end though. Problem is if we take away his 2 goals as well they beat us 1-0.
  22. Just curious. How many did you write off when you packed in? Don't know and it doesn't matter, i could get sunderland away put it that way. 50+ then.
  23. Shearer would be ideal. Our record goalscorer and most famous player of all time on baord would be massive. He's very critical of Ashley both on TV and social media but would he be prepared to take something like this on? Only one way to find out.
