Dave devastated Elliot had another good game. Imagine being gutted when a Newcastle player does well. Class
-
What? It wasn't a particularly good free kick which the keeper should have saved. It shouldn't be used to gloss over a thoroughly average display and a horrendous mistake for their first goal.
-
Poor. If Elliot had let in that free kick there would have been meltdown on here.
-
He got caught in the eye off their forward, that's why he dropped it. Wrong That's what it looked to me. He split it well before he made contact with anybody. Wrong

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Happy days for their 735 followers then. -
Had an argument at a local Non League game with another Newcastle fan last week because he wants Rafa sacked. I asked who he would like to see replace him and he replied with Tony Pulis. There are people like this out there.
-
Starting to hope the Man City game is going to be a massive Rafa fest similar to Spurs in our final game of the 15/16 season. We're going to get hammered anyway so the result isn't really of paramount importance (Not like the 2 games after it) and the managers name reverberating around the ground will be a shot in the arm to the media wanting us to turn on him, the internet trolls wanting him out and mackems distorting opinion polls.
-
Problem is that none of our midfielders look a s I'd they fit in at the moment other than Moreno. Hayden has been poor this season and hasn't managed to step up to the level required for this division.

Worse when you consider we'd only been relegated 4 times in 115 years before he arrived. Devil's advocate, but how many years did we spend outside the top flight after those 4 relegations? 7 years, 4 years, 6 years, 4 years. -
You can hear Paul Clement constantly shouting out instructions over the crowd.

Really was. Our home fans at times are a shower of s*** tbh. Says this prick sat at home in the warm with his central heating on I'd say the same to you too, but I dunno whether it's currently your NUFC time of the month or not. and I'll be back when Ashley's gone, some of us stick to our principles. It's never your time of the month. You're a nothing. You sit behind a keyboard in the warm and criticise the people that bother to wrap up warm and go to support. In short, you're a prick, a little tweeb, a coward of a person. But you knew all this already.

Got to start earning his massive salary now like.
-
Greg thinks he's great. Greg is clueless.

Did they not do that with the early goal and strong start on Saturday? Erm, yes? I didn’t say they didn’t. Was it still bad at that point? Sadly it was still pish and I'm at the front of the Gallowgate towards The Corner. I genuinely just think we're in a state of total limbo and there's very little faith in the players, which isn't the most useful combination at the moment. The takeover will make a world of difference, but relying on the crowd before that is fanciful at best. Need to grind out some results ugly IMO. Atmosphere was great up until the equaliser on Saturday. Even the Leicester manager said it was a difficult atmosphere to play in as have a few other opposition managers at SJP this season (Bilic, Klopp, Pochettino) The problem is, and you'll notice it tonight, that the style of play absolutely sucks the life out of the crowd and people become restless and even, dare I say it, bored by 20 minutes in. We never have a sustained amount of pressure on the opposition goal which along with a refereeing howler or a bad tackle are things that lift the crowd. People are edgy because we don't really look much of a threat going forward yet look vulnerable when the opposition do. This isnt a pop at the manager as hes doing what he can with a Championship quality squad but what we're watching now isn't condusive to a stirring atmosphere. Fans react to what they see on the pitch, and if it's pretty turgid stiff the atmosphere will reflect that. I completely see your point, but at the same time I just don't see it as a valid excuse to sit there in silence/moaning. I just think that people need to realise that their role as supporters is to sing and encourage, get behind the team. You can't go to a match (imo) with the mindset of 'well, I'll give socks if we're battering their goal'. And, for me, I think if we're defending a lead and the players are giving their all it can create that siege mentality and rally everyone around the team (but obviously most don't see it that way....probably because we're so unconvincing defending, in fairness). It's human nature and that's the way it's always been in this country. It's not the same as In Germany or Turkey for example where the atmosphere is choreographed and they have cheerleaders with their backs to the pitch telling the crowd what to sing. In England the support is more spontaneous and reactive to what is happening on the pitch. If we're showing plenty of attacking intent and the players are throwing themselves into tackles the crowd will be right up for it. If we're on the back foot, with little possession and showing no attacking threat it will be flat. I've been going since the 80s and tbh that's how it's always been regarding the crowd. -

Yedlins ball watching and continuing to be caught miles out of position has nothing to do with Richie like.
-
It's sad that the criteria for playing a winger in modern football is how well he defends. It is when you have 2 full backs who can't defend though. Richie has been poor lately, no getting away from that (although you could say that about every player) but people have short memories and he's contributed with more assists than any other player in our team. I'll be amazed if Rafa drops him tonight and goes with Murphy and Atsu as our 2 wingers.
-
Atsu/Manquillo & Murphy/Yedlin would mean us getting torn apart even more down the flanks than we are at present. I'd allow Richie the chance to play himself out of this poor run of form he's in because he's still been involved in more of our goals than any other player I believe, offers a reasonable amount of experience in a side that lacks it badly, and, although not recently, he does usually track back and help out his full back.

Well it's what happened last time we played them up here. Might have been an injury time winner from a corner. I remember it being very late on anyway. Hazy memory but wasn't it Cleverly with the last touch of the game? Aye think it might have been.
