Aston Villa vs Newcastle United - Saturday 7th May 2016 @ 15:00 (No TV)

I'm not but this place just reminds me of the days leading up to sunderland at home when everyone had us winning it comfortably (not me) and it ended up with us snatching a draw it a few minutes to spare. If they'd had a more adventurous manager they'd have been out of sight by then anyway. I've got loads of confidence in Rafa, he's the best thing to happen to the club in years, it's quite a few of those on the pitch who've let us down time and time again that worry me. -

Stop being so negative, man. The absolute cheek of you calling Brummie boring when all you do is trot out the same line every single week about how badly we're gonna do. Tbf if you look at the league table I've been proven right more often than not and as I said the other day the hypocrisy on here is staggering considering how negative this forum is in general. There's very few players, managers or board members on here who escape criticism. I don't get what this has to do with beating the worst team the league has seen for 8 years on the back of 4 games unbeaten. We couldn't beat them at home on the back of beating Liverpool and Spurs mind. Different manager and a different time though. Can't you see things have completely changed since then? Well we still haven't won away from home since 2015 and I was at the Crystal Palace match last week when a team with one win in 18 league games matched us (were better than us 1st half) and it took a world class free kick and a penalty save to beat them. -

It's just the way Newcastle are. -

We're in our best run of form this season and Rafa's leadership and methods seem to be working tremendously well. If ever there was a time to be cautiously optimistic this year then it's now. Rafa = hope. Agree. This team would be already dead and buried if not for him. -

I'll start you off with our recent derby record then. The game where you need more bottle than in any other. This group of players have failed to turn up time and time again. We haven't won an away game in 2016. Away games are those when you don't have the support of the home crowd to spur you on and so need to roll up your sleeves and do it for yourself. Time and time again this lot have failed to show the bottle needed on the road, a 45 minute spell at Anfield apart. Hopefully its just the nerves but there's not many players in that team I'd trust to just go out and get the job done on the road and let's face it, if it weren't for Benitez this group of players would already have us relegated -

Don't worry I haven't taken it personally. I actually find you one of the better posters on here. Again all about opinions. -
Never been his biggest fan but he's really impressed me at right back. He's a pretty intelligent player but was never physical enough to play in the middle in this league. However full back is one of those positions where you can get away with being 5'6" and 9 stone wet through and I think he's clever enough to retrain in that position.

It wasn't bitterness, it was schadenfreude. It's all part of football. The time to worry is when you go down and nobody bats a f***ing eyelid. People go on about 'the banners' but they're talking about two banners which could have been brought by one person for all we know. It's not like we were all riding around the city centre, sat on top of our cars, bibbing our horns and waving flags at 3am in the morning because you'd got relegated. Anyway, we know what it's like now - we've been slowly tortured to death in front of the entire world for one entire season now. We have had loads of p*ss take and media coverage about it and to be honest, it just makes me feel better - that us getting relegated is still 'a story'. Unlike pointless yoyo clubs like Albion or Norwich, up and down so often people forget where they are from one year to the next. This fixture is a great opportunity for you lot to take the p*ss back, and we're going to have to suck it up. The only problem is: 1. Your current league position which may render p*ss taking inadvisable before the end of the match. 2. The fact that that banner posted here is proper s****. Just like your team then. What goes around comes around and all that. Yep - which is pretty much exactly what I just said in the post you're referring to, you might have observed. Nah got bored after the 2nd paragraph so stopped reading. Did "schadenfreude" make you do a brain melt? Just find your posts generally speaking to be fairly boring and repetitive tbh, nothing personal of course, so the longer ones I tend not to bother reading all the way through. Was there any need for this btw?[emoji38]Proper s*** craic. Nothing against the lad personally he's probably a decent enough chap but just find his postings to be pretty long winded and repetitive. There's been far worse than that posted on here mind so no need to get all precious about it, especially when it doesn't really concern you. -

Will this season's heartache ever end? It ended at Old Trafford for you surely. Just playing out the remaining matches without any pressure I would have thought. -

I find the FA trying to send us down a little difficult to believe. Unless you think how s*** we've been is their fault like. No doubt about it we are exactly where we deserve to be but we've had some awful decisions go against us this season. Rightly or wrongly Mike Dean is the only ref that gives that penalty v Palace on Saturday, then we had Agueros offside goal, our 2nd goal to make it 2-0 v Man City in the corresponding fixture being wrongly disallowed, Coloccinis red card v the Mackems, Norwich winner the other week being a handball, the penalty against Mbemba v Man Utd and that's just off the top of my head without even thinking. Match deciding decisions that have gone against us. Now I've always been of the belief that decisions even themselves out and no doubt we have had one or two go our way but we are well in the negative when it comes to refereeing/linesmen decisions this season.
