  1. Can't even recall him saying that but it doesn't surprise me. He was a proper Walter Mitty.
  2. Roeder gave Krul his debut didn't he?
  3. He's done ok tonight. You just get that feeling though when he gets the ball nothing really much is about to happen. He did put a couple of good balls over in the 1st half mind. Although he probably looked better than Barnes you can understand why he came off and Barnes stayed on. Ultimately Murphy has replaced him for 25 minutes and set up Barnes for the goal.

    Yoane Wissa

Just have to cut our losses with this lad. He barely gets a look in now. Looks like it's not just the fans and there's a lot there that Howe doesn't like. If he's a young lad you could think there might be something there you could work with and mould him into the type of player we need but at the age he's at it's not happening. Fair play Brentford. You had our pants down.
  5. I mean UEFA literally work the draw so that the same teams are always in the latter stages so it's probably not beyond the realms of fantasy that their referees are expected to cooperate to ensure that's what happens. Not just tonight but look at our last 2 games against PSG. It was clear there that there was a rabbit off.
  6. I watched it on the Firestick. Gerry Armstrong was co commentating. He mentioned it a few times.
  7. You're barking up the wrong tree here. Not like an Italian to get involved in corruption.
  8. They were. I remember the 01/02 season definitely Robert had the 2nd most assists in the PL with 14, behind Giggs.
  9. Hahaha never noticed that Just seen the source at the bottom was transfermrkt which is normally pretty accurate. Not sure how they could get hold of his stats though!
  10. Aye you'd be right there. Sort of thing the Trust should have been in dialogue with the club over really but as usual would rather just sit on their hands and do nothing.
  11. Think plans would already have had to be put in place for it well before now if it were to happen. Consultation with affected supporters etc. Certainly now ST renewals are in it definitely won't be happening. Just don't think there's any appetite for it at all from the club, or to improve the atmosphere in general. The 1,800 in the corner was a token gesture in an area where many already stood anyway and the fact that away fans get 3,200 safe standing places here just says it all about where the clubs priorities lie.
  12. Was reading a blog last week from an Everton fan about his visit here when we played them a week past Saturday. He was very complimentary of the fans and the city but one thing he noticed is that he was in a pub full of Newcastle fans and Bournemouth v Sunderland was on the TV. Said when Bournemouth equalised there was hardly any acknowledgement which surprised him.
  13. So in a nutshell, no extra safe standing, and ticket price hikes in every part of the ground. Should do wonders for the atmosphere next season.
  14. I just find it staggering that the team that could beat PSG, PSV, Benfica and Bilbao couldn't beat the team that's bottom of League One. Surely some mistake here.
  15. Absolutely superb that a Newcastle fan knocked them out and celebrated by doing the Shearer celebration. That'll have tipped a lot over the edge
  16. 4 month exile in the home end and I'm not refusing a free ticket
  17. Broke my 4 month exile yesterday (other than the PSV game in January) courtesy of getting a ticket off a mate. Gallowgate middle tier block K, near the back and right next to the corner. Cracking seat. Atmosphere started off canny, as it should for an FA Cup 5th round game at 8pm on a Saturday night, but oddly seemed to tail off when we went 1-0 up. Was almost if people sat back waiting for them to equalise. 2nd half was poor on and off the pitch with no real chanting en mass. A few observations; The % of people in the Corner who participate in the singing is actually quite low. Most the people at the back seem to sing but very few the further to the front you get. Turned around and could see people stood up all match at the back of the Gallowgate. They do try to get stuff going up there but could barely even hear them from where I was sat so their general impact is minimal. Could hear the Man City fans quite a bit which is unusual because the away fans aren't usually very audible from the Gallowgate End. Not sure if that's down to the acoustics and them having the corner as well which made them sound louder. I know that when that was our singing corner up there my mates in the Gallowgate said they could hear us. All in all a 6/10 I'd say.
  18. Apparently it would have been only a yellow if it is deemed he had made a genuine attempt to play the ball whilst commiting the foul. As it was a deliberate act the red card was awarded as well as the penalty.
  19. Hahaha remember it well Thanks for sharing that!
  20. Keith Barrett knew him. Remember when I first started travelling away with him in 1994 there was a big Union Jack flag over the back window of his bus with "Mungo Mags" written across the middle.
  21. We did. It didn't last very long thankfully!
  22. In theory a great idea. Fill it with radgies who'll make lots of noise and bait the away fans like we used to do up there when it was the singing corner. In reality they'll charge £60 a ticket and it'll be full of people who want to sit down and not get involved in all that carry on.
  23. Still remember when he got Mungo Jerry, aka Ray Dorset, to perform for us at the Trafford Park Hotel before the Semi Final v Spurs! What a day that was Used to be great arriving into various towns and cities across the Country with Somebody stole my wife or Lady Rose blasting out of the tape player! Great days.
  24. Said it for ages we're too nice and make ourselves an easy target to be on the wrong end of bad decisions because we rarely kick up a stink over them. Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea get a ridiculous amount of decisions go their way season after season and on the pdd occasion something goes against them you can bet your bollocks they'll cause uproar. Unfortunately we need to do the same. Put some pressure on Howard Webb and his team of useless cunts. Imagine if any of them had been on the wrong end of all those decisions at Villa Park the other week! We'd still be hearing about it now. They would have made sure of that.
