  1. Only complaint from last night was nothing to do with the actual crowd but why did they feel the need to play Freed from Desire literally 2 seconds after that clown blew the full time whistle ffs? Surely in that moment and the way the place was you just keep the bloody music switched off and let the crowd do their thing! It's such a generic song as well that gets played all over the world to get crowds pumped up but it wasn't required here.
  2. Got to say it still looked pretty much full on TV. A few empty seats in the East Stand (not many) but generally the place still looked pretty full. Never underestimate how shit these 8.15 kick offs are for some people. For a lot who live in parts of Northumberland and County Durham it causes massive issues if travelling on public transport and in some cases the only option is the leave a few mins before the end. Added to that the match massively over ran with around 15 minutes of extra injury time over the 2 halves which pushed the full time whistle back much further again.
  3. Haha I've always thought that as well! Would be much better if the lower tier wasn't split in 2 by the walkways that run the length of both the Leazes and Gallowgate but that's where the disabled bays are so not much can be done there.
  4. Keeps his place for Saturday. No doubt about that.
  5. 7 points from safety, 12 games to go. They couldn't could they?
  6. Howay man a half decent keeper stops that let alone a so called Premier League standard one. He's done fine other than that but ilhe should be saving it.
  7. It's horrendous goalkeeping. Even a half decent keeper saves that. Not actually sure what he's trying to do.
  8. Aye I'll not be watching the 2nd half. As someone else said these referees make this product virtually unwatchable.
  9. Another absolutely staggering display of refereeing here. Coaches are training their players all week and then everything they've done is completely nullified by these referees making wrong decision after wrong decision.

Let's hope we're not shouting for him to be reinstated in a couple of hours time. No confidence in Ramsdale either.
  11. He's an excellent manager. He was in my class at school and he's a smashing lad as well. Usually takes a bit of time to get going, you never really get the new manager bounce with him but wherever he's been, Whitley Bay, North Shields, Blue Star, Tyne Met College, Spartans U19s and now their 1st team he's been a success at them all. Was actually a very good footballer but got a bad injury unfortunately.
  12. Shows how underwhelming the rest of his time must have been then. He's a streaky player in my opinion. Can look good for weeks on end, then shite for weeks on end, then injured for weeks on end... Suppose it depends on your definition of "World Class". Not for me.
  13. Never reached World Class level at Sociedad either. 33 goals in 105 games is reasonable for a centre forward, but no better than that. 2 in 10 for Liverpool and 16 in 56 for Sweden. 3 excellent seasons with us (when he was fit and available) doesn't make him a "world class" striker in my book. It's an over used phrase these days imo.
  14. One of my biggest regrets is not being able to go to that Leeds match. Was 11 at the time and it wasn't until the following season I was allowed to go with my mates and without my dad. He wouldn't take me because of the Magpie group boycott so I had to make do with who I assume would have been Charles Harrison on Metro Radio. We'd gone to most home games since the start of the 84/85 season but he point black refused to take me to that game. Still remember the strange feeling of joy at the result and at the same time the devastation of missing it. Think he regretted it as well although he's never said.
  15. Whilst certainly not envious of their position I'd imagine the majority of Spurs fans would quite enjoy a season in the Championship, as long as it was just the one season. Winning most weeks (you'd assume), and winning always feels better than losing regardless of opposition, cheaper tickets (they won't be able to charge £95 in the Championship), loads of new grounds to tick off for their travelling fans, no VAR, and likely more entertainment. There's this insistence nowadays that to be a good PL player you need to be an athlete, and the almost robot like instructions that these players have to obey now has quite frankly made the league a bit boring. I rarely watch games as a neutral these days, and even watching NUFC where I have an emotional interest I often find my interest wandering. Obviously from a financial point of view it would be a complete disaster with the costs associated with running Spurs, and that stadium they have but purely from a supporters perspective I think the novelty factor would be good fun. My single favourite single NUFC moment by an absolute mile was last seasons cup final but my favourite season would still be 92/93 and 09/10 would make my top 6 as well out of over 40 seasons.
  16. I'd imagine being ex Villa it'll mean a bit more to him tonight!
  17. Probably likely need to score 3 to have any chance of beating these so unfortunately I can't see it.
  18. He's playing now in the Seville Derby.
  19. He's got one blinding asset and that his his pace. You can nullify that by hitting him as soon as the ball goes to his feet. That's how he receives the ball here as we don't put it in behind the left back for him to get on to. He's the easiest winger in the league to defend against right now. He'd be great in a Nottm Forest team I think. No good for us though. Actually I reckon Woltemade would do well for Forest. We just don't play that way, and I'm not sure if they're good enough players to change our style for.
  20. You just hit him early and you hit him hard. You take any pace straight out of the equation then. That's what we tell our kids to do anyway, and it works. You give a fast player a yard and you give him the one advantage that he has over you. And that's the yard.
  21. Agree. The football is tedious, the results are poor, we can't defend to save our lives, we've spent £135m on 2 impotent strikers and another £55 on a winger who looks like he's never played football before, we've let our neighbours who 3 years ago were in Division 3 get ahead of us, but despite all that, I wouldn't sack him. Just crack on, it'll get better.
  22. That's utter garbage tbf. The last thing you do as a defender is give a quick player any room to run, or accelerate, you hit him as soon as he takes the ball to totally nullify his pace. Mykolenko leaving him be was more confidence that he'd do fuck all and he got that spot on.
  23. Must admit if I was paying £800 for a season ticket I'd probably be a bit pissed off as the standard definitely doesn't justify the cost but as a Firestick fan I think we need to persevere basically because of what he's already done and I wouldn't have a clue who to bring in to replace him. Also I do think there's a chance he can turn this around. However all you who pay to watch this rubbish. You have my sympathy. It's not great.
