  1. Was at Berwick on Saturday and it's still the same. The language/abuse they dish out is simply unrivalled Took 2 other lads with me who've never been before and they were shocked by it but also loved it at the same time and will be coming back. Preferred it to the sanitised shite at SJP nowadays. They beat Cowdenbeath 2-0. Great banter between the 2 sets of fans mind, especially when Cowdenbeath scored 1st, and one of their lot threw a blue flare onto the pitch during the celebrations, only for the linesman to very belatedly flag him offside. They took some shit for that like
  2. He's far better than the fat mess you’ve had in goal the past 2 seasons. Wouldn't bank on this Dutch kid being any good either. The Dutch haven't had a decent goalkeeper in ages. Nice that you've reappeared now Sunderland are doing better anyway. That's the Sunderland way isn't it. Come out for the good times, under your rocks for the rest. Tom Cowie never spoke a truer word.
  3. Good signing for them I suppose. Will be interesting to see how he gets on playing in a team that's chasing the ball rather than dominating it like he's used to, especially at his age but in reality he's one of, of not the biggest name signing they've made in their entire history so fair play to them for showing some ambition. Again though, it makes it all the more strange all those NUFC fans who were desperate for them to come back up "to get the derby back". Personally found it funnier when they were in the lower leagues signing absolute nobodies for £250,000.
  4. I'm still none the wiser
  5. Ironically I couldn't even tell you who plays Centre Forward for them
  6. Used to be 11,500 but the Council safety certificate only allows for 7,500 these days I think.
  7. Have the Trust made any contact with the club or released a statement regarding these astronomical price rises? Surely this is bread and butter stuff for a Supporters Trust and something they should be all over.
  8. Wolves will be bottom category as well so that's as low as they'll go outwith FA and League Cup games. Sorry like but those prices are disgusting.
  9. Yeah it's getting ridiculous now. £58 in the Gallowgate and £75 in the East Stand just isn't realistic up here. I just happened to glance at Chelseas ticket prices yesterday and the are pretty much in line with ours now! Staggering really. Started to make my preparations for "drifting away from it" 2 years ago when they brought the ballot system in as I knew that would end my days as a regular attending supporter and it would be down to luck of the draw and my attendance would become sporadic and that's just not me. I don't like not being in control of when I can and can't go to the match. I watch a fair amount of Non League to fill the void of missing out on certain NUFC games, occasionally watching Heaton Stan play as they're within walking distance but by chance I ended up taking in a Berwick Rangers game over the Xmas of 2023 and enjoyed it so much that I started to go pretty regularly last season and this summer I decided to purchase a season ticket (£130). I know I won't make every game but at that price I'm not that bothered about missing a few (It's a tenner to get in anyway) and they are genuinely so grateful for the support. I got a lovely letter enclosed with my season ticket thanking me for my "valued support" and it does make you feel like an actual supporter, not a customer, or worse still, a customer number. It's just little things like that. Got my rejection email for Liverpool off NUFC earlier and whereas in the past I'd have been gutted, it was more shrug of the shoulders stuff, and in some ways quite happy I wasn't getting hammered for these mental ticket prices. Anyway, first game of the season for me on Saturday. Cowdenbeath at home. Good crowd and good away following expected. Really looking forward to it!
  10. Mate of mine just text before. Him and his bairn (12) got tickets in the Milburn Paddocks. £112 for an adult and a kid, and if it rains they get wet
  11. Said on the other thread in ticketing that I got knocked back but wasn't too arsed because of the prices. Will take a few cans along and watch it in my mates bar instead. In hindsight renewing mine and the bairns memberships this season probably wasn't the smartest move. If I'd known how much they were putting the tickets up by I wouldn't have bothered, regardless of success rate of getting them.
  12. Aye tbf to the mackems it looks like they're giving it a go. Don't think Burnley have done too much this summer (could be wrong) but what got Burnley promoted last season will never work in the PL. Their success was built on clean sheets. They'll be lucky to get 3 or 4 of them all of next season. They don't score goals. I think they're nailed on to finish rock bottom. If Sunderland start well, and they have some favourable fixtures, they'll have a chance. If they don't, morale will quickly disappear and then they'll be into that horrid run of winter fixture minus about half a dozen players and they could be pretty much sunk by January.
  13. Aye he mentioned them and Wolves as being possible strugglers. I just think West Ham look like they could be in a lot of bother this season. Don't think it'll be as cut and dried next season where the 3 promoted teams were cut adrift early doors.
  14. Think West Ham could be in for a torrid season.
  15. Someone going to tell them they've only played 2 (TWO) European ties in their entire history?
  16. Almost 33 years old. Spent the last couple of years playing in a far less intense league and would be joining a team that'll be chasing the ball rather than dominating it like Leverkusen do. Honestly not sure if it would be a great signing, nor would I understand why you'd choose to leave Leverkusen and a Champions League campaign for a relegation scrap.
  17. If anything good comes out of this tedious saga I hope it's that ridiculous idea that's been floated about of singing YNWA when we play Liverpool at SJP has been well and truely kicked into touch.
  18. I used to think like that but the penny finally dropped when we won the League Cup that this is a totally different Newcastle United to the one we all knew and loved/hated pre 16/3/25.
  19. I'm proud to say I was one of the 4,609 fans present at SJP for that Cesena match. Was also at the Ascoli match where David Kelly rabbit kicked one of their players and was sent off (I somehow ended up on the pitch during the aftermath) and the Leicester match as well but they both had bigger crowds. I was in the scoreboard for the Cesena match and I remember a cat walking around the almost deserted Corner during the 2nd half.
  20. Went to watch Newcastle Benfield v Berwick Rangers. Good game of football and a good travelling supoort down from Berwick. Benfield 1-0 up at HT but Berwick far better 2nd half and ran out 2-1 winners, also having a couple of goals disallowed as well. First time I've been to Benfield for a good few years. Smashing set up they've got there now.
  21. Fucking brilliant news! Always like to see bad things happen to clubs who dislike ourselves and Parrish and their fanbase are right up there in that respect.
  22. Looked like they were going to be onto a winner at one point when that American billionaire Bob Rich got involved with them after discovering he had an ancestral link with Bedlington. He even bought the title Lord Bedlington! Remember he bought them that huge scoreboard, chucked 30 grand at them, and even flew the entire team, management and Commitee out to America as well. Rumour has it that their drunken antics out there were what made him decide he wanted nothing to do with them but not sure if that's true or if he just got bored of his new toy. It's a shame what's happened to them all the same. Anyway I'm off to watch Benfield v Berwick Rangers tomorrow. Weather forecast looking lovely so think I might have a walk along to the Lochside first and make use of that nice big beer garden they have.
  23. They've moved their match against Sunderland to Hebburns ground as well.
  24. Loving the macktracking over Henderson on Twitter mind. He didn't really sell his soul to Saudi as the didn't pay him whilst he was there which is why he left is the latest narrative.
