Thing is tubes, rightly or wrongly you’ve forsaken the football side of things. You’re obsessed with the off field - as am I. It’s clouding your judgement though. He’s no stooge, patsy or wet lettuce. I think we’ve just forgotten what professionals look like at this club. Watching the bobby doc on the plane a few hours ago. Was a good insight into the media, manage, club politics triumvate and Rafa treads it competently.

He’s only here for money? Extension of ashley now?
-
Part of me is a bit put out at why he hasn’t. It’s intetedting to hear in memoirs and all but he could really galvanise a movement given chance and his input.

Perhaps he cares about leaving the club in a stable way if he must and ‘getting his deposit back’ in terms of his CV and having kept NUFC in the big time. Integrity can be dissected among many lines - you’ve just drawn it across - he’s playing under Ashley therefore complicit. All those quotes are evidence of ideas that support and angry yet level headed approach many are taking to protest. If he just left, there implications for him, his staff, his family, his players, NUFCs stability (lol) and though I d respect him for it on a relatable level it’d be a similarly gauged reaction to those who say ‘well that won’t work, do a boycott that’ll work’ it just doesn’t cover all the angles.

You have far too much time in the morning ? I want every one of his business interests to fail. Once he gets full control over Debenhams it will be exactly like HoF, screwing over customers and suppliers. The general public are starting to turn on him. BBC are certainly covering every little detail of the HoF story. All of this is good for us because 2 years ago Mike Ashley was considered a good businessman, and it was just bad luck on his part that he bought our club. Deluded Geordies etc.. See, nobody gives a shit about Sports Direct or whoever works for them so the zero hours debacle was always going to blow over. But start fucking around with prestigious high street stores and now everyone is furious.. it’s a mad world. It’s taken them a few years but everyone else is now seeing what an absolute cunt this man is and with that are beginning to understand why we would be protesting his existence here. It can only help our cause. Yep. Journos are really gunning for him. The guardian for all it's faults are a good resource. -
He was due one or two like. Infinite monkeys/typewriters and all that. : :

Need to not dilute anti SD sentiment. Saying boyott this but spend here complicates. -

I want Ashley out. Dead even. But I’m not placing any trust in a man named Rocco commissio -
My mortgage document was shorter, but that’s a great post HTT

Support is doing what’s right. Refusing to tolerate and fund the whims of a toxic bully is right no matter how effective you think it is. Thick and thin is all when and good when you’re taking sporting chance. We don’t deal in that.

For a lot of people you are asking them to admit that their weekends are built around a complete waste of time in logical terms. Easier for me because I live miles away and it’s more apparent it’s a waste of my time and money. We’re just starting to grapple with that on a scale that matters. I understand the feeling behind ‘he’ll not stop me’ if not the logic.

There was talk of cheap sports redirect tees being done for a couple quid and sold at cost to wear at games.

Lets hope. At the very least he's shone a massive negative spotlight on himself. -
This is nonsense. You don't just fight everyone who disagrees with you unless they are an outright problem. If 75-90 are against we've fucking had it.

I'll eat him for free. -
I have to say this sounds like a terrible idea for reasons you’ve alluded to.

Rafa has been a cult on here for some time. It’s a combination of our situation and his ability which in light of the situation is incredible he’s still here (so all situation really) He’d be under far more scrutiny if we had a proper owner I’m sure, but it seems you can’t say anything negative as all you’ll get is that it’s the situation and Ashley is to blame...which is hard to argue with as he has created it, but sometimes you can do more with the hand you’ve been dealt rather than just keep blaming the dealer. Rafa has been screwed left right and centre any fool should know and see it. I get the 'just keep blaming the dealer' argument, and the obvious and perfectly correct his squad isn't good enough because of Ashley, so what can he do. My point and i reckon others on here is, even if Rafa had spent £100m i would still comment on a sub, the timing of one or a certain tactic or approach, a poor starting pick etc as that's football. And what i love to talk about, scrutinise and study more than anything else. Well, that's ultimately being spoilt by him n all. I suppose hyper sensitivity is partly from this bullshit narrative attacking Rafa and people want to defend him to the hilt. Also I'm finding it hard to see the relevance of the on pitch stuff so everything is viewed through the other lens. Sad but there you go.

Going in late for the next TV game should be where they go next imho. Obviously the cameras would pick up on all the empty seats, but the match would have to be delayed for health and safety reasons which would impact on TV schedules. Keep doing that on televised games, and Sky/BT would stop putting us on the telly which deprives Ashley of his advertising. Walk in on 11 minutes to signify the number of years he has been there. It'd be a great start towards boycott if we could. I'd knock minutes significance on the head tbh. Just stick to 15 as a benchmark.

These methods have worked in the recent past - difference is this season the manager has been supported even less, the politics have been laid even more bare with tensions whilst other clubs have strengthened not only in personnel terms but also through the drive of being first season in the premier league, boards and fans pulling in the same direction and just being bothered about being an actual football club. You can't ignore that context - it's far more of a factor than what sub could have been done or a formation.
