  1. Carew has been a decent player for Villa but I would always have thought Keane to be a more complete player. I'm not sure exactly how he will work with Agbonlahor (might be better with Heskey) as he seems to play better running off a big man, but I think he would work well interchanging with Downing and Young. He's a good link man and get's his fair share of goals.
  2. Latest forecast for the reading area. Highest temperature from now till the game will be -1, Getting as low as -7 at times. There is no more predicted snow until, go on guess........ yep, Saturday 3pm when it's a 95% chance of snow. I'd still say it's very much in the balance.
  3. Your match ticket will stand for the rescheduled game, or if you can't make it they will offer you a full refund. That is pretty much standard for postponed football matches. As for the train tickets it will depend where you bought them from. Most companies will refund but will also charge an admin fee, thetrainline.co.uk charge a £10 fee for refunds.
  4. Agreed, the snow is still falling accross the south and that stretch from Wycombe to Basingstoke got hammered again. I think most of the games around the country will be off this weekend. Even if they can keep pitches clear the authorities will say conditions around the stadium are unacceptable.
  5. I've said in the NOFC forum that the Preston game is tricky cause it's the wife's birthday (but not impossible) but I will 100% be there on the 6th. I've been waiting for my big moment since October. It's clearly going to be a massive let down for all involved.
  6. He's a decent keeper who while not being spectacular and making the odd mistake is solid and dependable. I'd take him over James or Foster. I think Green is good but has made a few clangers lately and never looks entirely comfortable. Hart is the one I really rate. Full of confidence but seems pretty down to earth and has the ability to make cracking saves. At the minute he looks like the long term future for me. I'd take Harper with those two to have an older experienced head. Wouldn't expect him to play or get picked after the World Cup but as a back up, why not.
  7. I don't understand rap music, let alone when it's in frenchish.
  8. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article6974759.ece Tony Cascarino reckons that both Manchester United and Arsenal will be screwed anyway by the end of the next decade as they'll fall to pieces without Fergie and Wenger at the helm. Arsenal still have a huge debt to pay off as well but seem to cope with it better than Manure. With the red scouse also in a huge mess behind the scenes it looks like City (providing the arabs don't get bored) and Chelsea could well be fighting it out for honours for a while. Cas also reckons that Spurs, Everton, Leeds andour very own NUFC will be the teams chasing for the title in the latter half of the next decade. Mind you he also thinks every club in the EPL will be owned by foreign billionaires and that only clubs with 40,000 seats will be allowed in the Premier League.
  9. Surely Wigan fans are worse. 5,000 for an all premiership FA Cup game FFS.
  10. You'd have to say that player for player Bolton probably have a better squad than Burnley. Also you have to look at future developments. Turf Moor is a ramshackle old style stadium. Their is no room for improvement without moving to a new stadium. The Reebok, whilst a soulless dump, is a modern stadium with decent facilities. Bolton have excellent training facilities and all that modern science stuff that Fat Sam likes, I don't know about Burnley but I'd imagine their training facilities are average at best. It is also more likely that Bolton will back him with more money in the January/Summer windows than Burnley would. I can see both teams just about avoiding relegation this season and I'd have to say I think he'd find it easier keeping Bolton up next time around than he would Burnley. With that in mind if I was him I'd head off to Bolton.
  11. 20th Feb is a toughie for me. Wife's birthday. Then again, Maybe she fancies a weekend away??
  12. How the hell can it be the worst possible result? If Houghton had played a full strength team we may well have won the game We're still in the cup, thats the main thing and if he puts out a strong team a week on Wednesday we have every chance of progressing. For f*** sake this is the FA Cup, 2400 people including myself care about it enough to travel down and yet some people on here would rather lose the game. Unbelievable Not everybody feels the same. I was mightily pissed off when I made the effort to go to the POSH league cup game only to see us play half the youth team and get completely embarrassed by a second rate team. I'd always want us to try and win no matter what. Pro footballers should be able to cope with the amount of games required without the need for being rested.
  13. How many of the Green Army will make the trip on a Wednesday night in January?? I'd say less than 100 of them. At least the steward/policing bill can be reduced for that one.
  14. I wonder what he was trying to do. Order a dandelion and burdock, and a pint of guiness for Kevin Nolan.
  15. I get all the reasons for us not going through and I agree with some. But I can't sit here saying 'Jesus, I hope we lose today'. It just isn't right.
  16. wot he say? First he was asked how his day was going or something and I was pretty sure he said 'shite' but I wasn't sure. After that they were talking about would he be bothered if they got relegated or would he continue his policy of buying young players, after a long answer he said 'so it's not like we're in the shit are we?'. Adrian Durham and Bobbby Gould were in stitches.
  17. I think he got it right first time. Incidentally did anyone else hear the Peterborough chairman swear live on talksport earlier today?
  18. Come on, Kadar: push it home, you strong young boy. Well at least if his football career doesn't pan out we know he can have a career in the thriving hungarian gay porn industry.
  19. You gotta love the way the local radio commentators get all hyped up, especially when there is a foul or injustice aginat their team. It's just like letting the fans have a go. "Shut up son, get on with it!!"
  20. Devonian commentator admits he dreams of Carlos Cuellar. Worrying.
  21. My mates a scunny fan and 184 of them went to plymouth earlier this season.
  22. Well what exactly did you expect to happen?? We haven't played a decent match away from SJP (and very few at them) all season. Except maybe Ipswich away.
