I can't stand AFC Wimbledon. Would be a completely different case. AFC Wimbledon were formed when Wimbledon FC were still playing. Wimbledon FC only stopped when the name was changed to MK Dons but they are a continuation rather than a new club. You try telling an AFC Womble fan that his club are a new entity and not the phoenix from the flames of the FA Cup winning Wimbledon FC and they practically explode. Timing schmiming, IMO. What used to be Wimbledon FC might not have been formally finished by the time that AFC Wimbledon started, but it was in the post. What other choice do ex-Wimbledon FC fans have? It's either AFC Wimbledon; follow MK Dons (which, as the most evil/hateable team in England, is not an option for anyone in possession of a soul); or stop watching football. AFC Wimbledon get the from me. You've clearly never met them then. It's only an hour drive from London to MK. It takes that long to get from Ploough Lane to Selhurst Park on a good day. FYI there are plenty of 'old' Wimbledon fans who are now MK Dons fans. I've met a few. The majority of AFC Wimbledon fans are bandwaggoners who have jumped on board as they rise ough the leagues. They have a nasty bunch of fans and believe it is their divine right to get into the football league. I can't stand them.

The most recent case in point would be Aldershot Town FC (1992) who were formed after the original Aldershot FC folded mid-season. They started in Ryman Division 3 and took about 15 years to get back to the Football League.

Get ready for AFC Portsmouth or Portsmouth FC 2010 or Portsmouth City FC or whatever, coming to a Zamaretto Football League Ground near you in the not too distant future. Well not too near most of you as you are in the North East. It sounds like Her Maj's Revenue and Customs are not prepared to accept anything other than the liquidation of Portsmouth FC, and as gutting as that is for Pompey fans and football in general it is the only sensible option. For too long football clubs operate on massive debts and survive only on bank loans. The whole of football needs to get it's house in order and if this is what it takes then so be it. Although the salary cap is a good idea it will never happen. It's ok doing it in sports where the competition is pretty limited like NHL or Super League (realistically where else would the top players go?) but if English Football capped a clubs wage bill then the top players would all move abroad where the clubs can still pay the silly wages. Fifa/Uefa will never put a mass salary cap in place so it's a non starter.

Quite frankly I'd be happy for us to scrape a win in this one just to keep up the revival in our form. Obviously I'd prefer to smash them to pieces but it's got to be all about a result given that it's away from home and our record against them has been poor over the last few years. Would be good if we could field the same eleven two matches in a row. I don't think that has happened for a good few months. I haven't checked the teamsheets to verify that statement mind.

First really took note in 87/88 season, not sure why. Obviously I have family in the north east, but my dad is a villa fan as is my older brother, but I just picked them and that was that. I think a young Gazza might have made an impression on me. Went to my first game (away to brentford) in 92/93.

Right, quick dash to the car as I'm off to pick the wife up from work. Can we score again by the time I get in the wagon and turn the radio on?
-
Glad we got another one in, always worried we'll just give up when we get a lead. *Stadium Empties* Bouncers on red alert.
-
Probably be on SSN later then on the BBC website tomorrow. Soccer AM will show the goals tomorrow morning I presume.

I knew I should have just told the wife to shove it and gone up today. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Still, GET IN. Big Andy will get his hat-trick.
-
Jeeeeesus. About time we gave someone a pasting, could it be tonight??
-
Big Andy!!!! Get in. Brand new back 4 again. Good to get an early lead, might be under pressure tonight.

I think it is unfair to claim players who have had their careers ended or seriously blighted by injury as having wasted their talent. In such a way I'd agree the likes of Woodgate, Dyer and Ashton have had their talent spoiled for them rather than wasted. In the modern day I'd agree Adriano is probably the best example of someone who could have had it all but threw it away.

You just know that Le Tissier didn't move to a top club because he couldn't be arsed to exert himself at all. It's unquestionable that United, Liverpool et al made offers for him. Saints would have accepted a decent fee as they never had a lot of cash, but he never would have gone. The ultimate example of a player living in a comfort zone. As such he can't complain that he never got a chance for England. Not that I don't agree he should have had more chances, but he is the ultimate luxury player.

Beat me to it Nobby. Could and should have been the very best striker in the world.

Okey dokey, a little dissappointed as I know I can't make the two upcoming NOFC games, but at least a decision has been made. I guess the debut will have to wait.

Romania, Austria, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, San Marino. 10 wins out of 10, shirley. In terms of away destinations how about: Sweden, Republic of Ireland, Cyprus, Iceland, Malta. Nowhere that you are likely to get attacked and some nice places to visit.

Sorry - you were not with your wife, you don't have any rights to dictate the life of your ex. You can feel jealous or whatever, but keep it to yourself. Friends ex's, sisters are not off limits. I have seen plenty of such relationships, peaceful and amicable. Mums and daughters I have not seen myself - but probably due to age difference/gap rather than anything "standard procedure". Your wife was probably being irresponsible for going out with a new guy during pregnancy, though. You are right that I can't dictate to her what she can do. But it's not her I had the problem with, she was single and could do what she liked. As it turned out she was a bit of a whore who slept with anyone who showed a bit of interest. He, on the other hand, was supposedly my friend and as such knew the situation. He had no excuse for what he did. If they had stayed together and had a relationship I might have, in time, changed my view. But he was just after a bunk up.

I love Shearer as much as the next Newcastle fan but I'm yet to be convinced that he has the ability to be a top manager. I don't like the way ex-players get top jobs without doing the ground work. It very rarely comes off. He needs to manage at least in the championship first (by that I mean a normal championship club, not one that can fill fifty thousand seats and really shouldn't be playing in this division). I mean somebody like Plymouth, Bristol City, Coventry or the like. I'd like to see him in charge of us at some point, but not just because of who he is, it has to be because he is the best man for the job on merit.

ESPN commentator just commented on what a powerful player Abdullaye Faye is.

I hope they all have decent careers at SJP, I think Routledge could do really well if he's played in the right way. Give him the ball and let him attack, pretend he's Aaron Lennon. Williamson already loks decent and with time could be a cracking centre half. I'll go for Routledge because I think it is attacking play that will be the difference between promotion and another year in this division.

It seems an extra 250k soon changed that one around.

There is no way Man Utd are getting to the Champions League Final.

Latest on this?? Number of players? Pitch?? Likliehood of getting called off due to shitty weather?? It's a long old way to come if I get there and it's not on. I can't really afford to come up, and I wouldn't if it was just for the cardiff game, so can we get some confirmation please?

were you and your wife together when they done it ? "Needless to say any chance of reconciliation with my wife had vanished". Friends who did this must be stripping & kill your personality into your beloved. Is this good friends? NO. It's all over with now, I don't see the guy anymore and I've moved on. Got a new wife and a couple of kids who are my world, and I still see my boy's from my previous. Did I mention that she was pregnant with my second boy while they were getting it on? No I think I missed that out.
