  1. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2894127/Steven-Gerrard-to-dodge-violence-charge.html Gave Brown a dig in the back of the heed last night, following on from his 'V' sign at the ref last week. He'll get away with it though, as the FA don't want any more bother from England players in trouble.
  2. He seems to be getting a little bit nasty lately. It's a bit obvious to say, but I reckon the frustration of how crap liverpool are has got to him. If there is no change in the summer I could see him angling for a departure. No doubt that somebody like Brown fully deserves a clumping though.
  3. I'd like to think we'll continue our impressive run of form with a comfortable win. We should score 5 or 6 easily. Also I think there will be less than 500 away fans turning up for this one.

    Phil Brown

This. Now we can hope Hull stay up, hopefully at the expense of the scum. Come on Hull!
  5. I had this conversation with a Virgin engineer who came to fix my phone line this morning. He said it looked like Ashley had turned things around and was getting it right now. I said it is more like he hasn't done anything that will make it worse this season, not that he has suddenly become our saviour and a god like businessman. Who knows, if we do clinch promotion and he manages to secure a few decent players so that we are comfortable in the PL I might just say he's got us back to where we should be, but no more than that.
  6. Technically, just to be pedantic, the injury occured in February.

    The England Thread

Lumpard missed two decent chances now.

    The England Thread

He was decent when asked to cover in the qualifiers. Looks like he just slipped TBH, happened a fair few times in the Carling Cup final on Sunday. Pitch is not the best.

    Level 7 Corner

L7, Block E, Row G, Seat 0387. Wasn't a great deal left to chose from by the time I got round to it. Looking forward to it, first time I have ventured up into the gods for a game. I normally get Level 4 behind the goal in the Leazes End, sorry, Sir John Hall Stand.
  10. Barnsley have been much improved since Robins took over but I still think we will be too strong for them at home. Routledge out is a blow of course but having Enrique, and hopefully McLoven, back is pleasing. Any news on Barton? Ready for a place on the bench?? Reckon we'll do them with a bit to spare. 4-1. Oh and........ :celb: :celb: 10-0 to NOFC.

Good stuff Pilkette. But why Tamwar Massood??
  12. Sounds to me like you've got it all under control Stu boy. I'd be more than happy to pay the £80 to get 45 mins of action in on the hallowed turf. It will be a fantastic event. If you can't afford it or think it's not worth it then you don't have to get involved. Personally I'd be walking over hot coals, broken glass and disgusting mackems to get to this.

    Level 7 Corner

Just me going, leaving the kids back home, My language is pretty bad so I'm not worried about being offended. I would expect nothing less. I don't really like watching football sitting down, unless I'm on the sofa, it feels sort of abnormal.

    Level 7 Corner

Going to sort a ticket for the Barnsley game later, gonna sample the atmos up in the gods so wondered where you good people consider to be the best spot. The stadium plan on the box office has six sections to chose from. Working that 1 is the closest to the family stand and 6 is the closest to the opposition, where would you recommend I go for to get the best "in game experience"??
  15. There was one, in Nottingham. Not sure if it's still there but I had a meal in there with some mates who went to Nottingham Uni about 7 years ago.

    Season Tickets

I'm saving to buy one for the first time, that's the easy part. It's finding the £100+ a time to get up to the games that's the problem!
  17. Exactly, and further more they have to make a Ltd company in England as well. I'm considering buying a couple of shares, I just have my doubt that there will be any future in it, since Chester are going down to Conference North next season. They will probably be relegated to the Northern Premier League depending on how things go with the conference board. Chester have broken several conference rules and could be refused permission to enter the competition next season. They have done it before and I would expect them to do it again.
  18. Just got in. Heard we were one down on the radio earlier. Loven-ly surprise to come home to a 3-1 scoreline. HTL!!
  19. Afraid the only place i'll be watching it is at home. I got pre-season training for my baseball team on saturday mornings at the minute.

    Female Referee

There's been a fair few women assistant referee's over the last couple of years. That is what she was there doing before the ref got injured. I don't have a problem with it really, as long as they are good enough.
  21. So you've had a bad experience with them then, which makes your view understandable, but comments such as "Arseholes, the lot of them" is absolute rubbish. My mates aren't arseholes and they follow them all around the country. They aren't vandals or hooligans. After last night Leeds fans are probably feeling similar about Carlisle fans... Doesn't make it right. We've all experienced s*** fans from other teams (and even sometimes our own), but it's too easy to project that on to an entire fanbase / team. They have come up through the leagues fair and square, from absolutely nothing. They've got every right to feel pretty pleased with themselves about that. It's not just me that has had a bad experience with them. And it wasn't just one time, it was six. And it really grated them that they never beat us in those six games. There isn't a group of fans that I have met who I detest more. I can accept that there are probably some that are perfectly normal, but I'm sure they would admit when asked that there is an element (a large element) of their fanbase who are just as I have described. They didn't have to start rising the leagues to feel smug. They were from the off. Marvelling in the glory of their own exsistence. The only reason they have got where they are is money. They'll soon hit a brick wall and then the world will lose interest. I for one hope they get promoted into the league, as their is no chance of my team ever getting there, so in all probability (barring an FA Cup draw) I never have to see them again. Actually, scratch that, if NUFC ever play them I'd be there. Just to show them how it feels to have a massive crowd, in comparison to what you are used to, turn up and trample all over your club.
  22. AFC Wimbledon have had the whole football world on their side. They love the romanticism of it. How the fans have saved the club. Watch that feeling erode as they climb the leagues. They are despised amongst the non-league clubs who have met them up to now. They turn up with their Bill Big Bollocks attitude, that other non league clubs are not worthy of gracing the same pitch as the saviours of football. When their players and fans leave holes in your stadium, smash perimiter fences, abuse the few supporters you have, fight with stewards and basically trample all over you I guarantee you won't feel the same. I've had to intervene as they've started on elderly volunteer stewards and other members of club staff. I've listened to them shout disgusting abuse at a young lad laying on their pitch with a leg broken in two places because they believe it was a bad tackle on his part, because the magnificent wombles can do no wrong. Like I said, you can like the idea of them as much as you like, but the reality of them is far from romantic. Arseholes, the lot of them.
