  1. I can't even be bothered to argue with Lee Ryder on Twitter anymore about Lee Bowyer's views. It's just pointless.
  2. Eh… Ellis was in charge for years and they hated him.
  3. On the bright side - given our next two matches - if we had any chance at all of staying up this season (with or without Pardew) we really needed 3 points today. I'm really trying to find a bright side there.
  4. Great tweet about Obertan: Iain Macintosh ‏@iainmacintosh 1m1 minute ago Obertan is a collection of random prosthetic limbs stuffed willy-nily into a large sausage, powered by a jet engine and controlled by no-one
  5. You forgotten Dyer refusing to play right wing for Bobby? And Cabaye refusing to play full stop? DJ's right. Cabaye did nothing for NUFC compared to Dyer. Splitting hairs there to be honest - both pretty similar acts.

  7. Most of the guesses appear to be Pardew and the guy has said the guesses aren't a million miles off.
  8. I think Solano was an intelligent enough player to have been good in any team. I think he was sorely underrated actually - such a great touch and amazing vision.
  9. My 2 year old nephew is going to this for his first game. God knows why.
  10. Wouldn't rate him below Clark - but agree with the rest.
  11. I wouldn't disagree that he is better than our current midfielders - as I said earlier, he would walk into our current team. However, I am not certain that I remember his technique in quite the way you do - I remember a lot of misplaced passes and poor touches. What he did have though was a great ball carrying ability and was excellent at launching counter attacks. However, when you look at his stats though - 23 goals in 193 league games just wasn't enough. I doubt his assist stats make for much better reading.
  12. Out of that team, he was probably the player I had the least time for. His technique and vision just weren't good enough ultimately.
  13. Solano was absolutely integral in Dyer's better games.
  14. Don't want to get into this again - but I think Dyer is and was hideously overrated. Obviously would walk into our team now though.
  15. Think Speed might also be more appreciated in this era of football than he was then actually - could do everything and chip in with goals.
  16. To be honest - I'm not even sure why I fighting his corner as I won't choose him to be our manager, but if you look at his track record, he's done a pretty decent job (bar Sunderland) wherever he's been. He got Birmingham promoted from a pretty crap league position, admittedly got them relegated, but then got them straight back up again. He established Wigan as mid-table Premier League team (arguably doing a better job than Martinez), got Hull promoted with a pretty awful team and did pretty well in their first season up. He's clearly not a terrible manager.
  17. People are going a bit overboard now - Bruce isn't shit. He just isn't particularly good. I'd take him over Pardew, but there are still large numbers of managers I would take ahead of Bruce.

What did Rob Lee do to Roy Keane? Keane doesn't seem to like him much..

Viera was better anyway. The bloke needs help.
  20. Keeps the Tuchel dream alive..
  21. I have to say I always found it strange that our CL games back in the Robson era a) weren't complete sell outs and b) didn't have the greatest of atmospheres.
  22. The only thing Geoff Thomas is known for is taking the worst shot ever taken by a footballer representing his country.
  23. I didn't even realise he was 23. I assumed he was nearer 20.
