  1. Would be delighted with Moyes, but would rather we looked abroad to be honest.

That's what I thought - that thread was then taken down..
  3. Honigstein told me (yes I am boasting) when I asked him if Tuchel would be interested in NUFC that he is fluent in English. f***ing hell. He needs to be the one What's the story with this guy then? Can't say I've ever heard of him. Posted these earlier - worth a read: http://bundesligafanatic.com/tuchel-mainz-retrospective/ http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/football/europeanfootball/bundesliga/the-main-man-at-mainz-S11363876017120 Not mentioned in the articles, but I am sure I read somewhere that he often used to train the team on a rhomboid shaped pitch to stop his full backs hitting the ball long down the line.

  5. I think he's been quite highly regarded in Argentina - I think you are possibly being a bit harsh there.
  6. I don't think, on the whole, the players we have bought aren't fit for purpose. A better manager would have made better use of the players we had last season and have this season.
  7. Selling Rooney for Balotelli and then making Balotelli captain instead of Costa has to rank as one of the worst decisions possible. Cost me about 30 points I reckon.
  8. what was it? Yeah what was it? Think it was that Ashley had a big 24 hours
  9. I do remember reading something about his contract when he left Mainz, but I am not sure what the deal is there. He sounds like just the kind of manager we should be looking at though.
  10. Articles on Tuchel for anyone who can be bothered to read them: http://bundesligafanatic.com/tuchel-mainz-retrospective/ http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/football/europeanfootball/bundesliga/the-main-man-at-mainz-S11363876017120
  11. This time last year when we had some real quality - I would agree. Now, We need someone with some type of PL/British league experience. I am not sure it makes any difference - I mean Pardew has PL experience and it hasn't helped him.
  12. Feel like I am endlessly repeating myself on this, but Ashley really should be looking at managers like Paco Jemez, Thomas Tuchel etc.
  13. I really don't think we need a manager with PL experience. I would much rather see a foreign manager with a decent grasp of tactics to come in.

Saw that - was bizarre stuff. Does he have an alcohol problem?
  15. It never makes sense to me that Ashley doesn't look for a progressive manager with a track record of improving the value of players and working with youth etc. It would fit his business model perfectly.
  16. Him or Tuchel would be amazing.
  17. I really want us to appoint someone with a philosophy of attacking football and I really think we should looking abroad. Like Tuchel, Jemez, De Boer, Stojkovic or Sampaoli.
  18. FFP is and will be an absolute disaster.
  19. That Graeme Bailey guy (who seemed to have some good info on transfers over the summer) has tweeted that Pardew is one heavy defeat away from the sack.
  20. Interesting call on Venison - but thinking about it a pretty good shout. I'd probably swap Solano for Gillespie and take out Howey for Woodgate I think.

Might be interesting to see an article detailing all the unemployed or employed but realistic alternatives to Pardew, given the only argument left to Pardewites is 'who would be better?'

I don't get the argument that a lack of investment is going to put off managers coming to us or indeed a lack of control over transfers. There are so many clubs in Europe that don't tend to have a positive net spend or let their manager recruit his own choice of players.

I think people might be missing the point that the produce you can acquire in certain countries isn't the same.

Other way round for me - probably, along with North African food, my least favourite type of cuisine to be honest. Maybe that's why I am standing up for Shola!

Bit stupid to be discussing this at such great length, given that we don't really know any of the facts, but anyway - I think however much you embrace a new culture, you are always going to hold on to something from your home (especially in the early stages). If in 6 months time, Shola has only eaten beans on toast and sausages then fair enough... criticism is perfectly justified!
