Bit of a misleading title imo. If you're going to commend someone for keeping their head down and getting on with their job, "boring" isn't usually the best word. Not a lot else to argue with it about though. i agree, good article, and his quotes about Allardyce especially!, but the undertones about "boring" kinda leave a bitter taste...its almost subliminal. I wonder what Kinner thinks about that article?...

out of our centre mids, id say he is the best passer (maybe Barton) and probably pushes for best shot (with Nolan), he can go past players when central (see his goals v Leicester or Hudders), but on the wing, he is forced to the byline where he doesnt have the pace to take on his man. Ironically, i get the feeling he'd do better on the left where he can cut in and orchestrate things from there. Barton also suffered by being stuck out on the right wing earlier this season, its a curse man...

Id argue that a left winger with 10-ish league goals to his name before xmas in a poor championship side may have a chance of making it in the league above...every club can have a Bullard man...

Every game, he has one moment where his judgement is terrible, but gets away with it...but then saves us with 2 world class saves per game...same was true tonight as it was when i was at Brammal Lane...

Looking back, werent the 2 back-to-back losses the games we had without Tayls and Colo? Hooper and Hayes had a field day against Khiz and Simpson (or was it Tamas?) as centrebacks...and similar at Forest for Blackstock. Taylor proved tonight how important he can be, he bails out others in our back 4, he dominates in the air and even drives the ball forward. We need Kilgallon or another centreback soon as, otherwise if Tayls gets injured, i can see us lettng in a few more goals...

I feel sorry for Guthrie having to play right wing as his lack of pace clearly undermines his ability there...with Nolan out we should see him get a crack in the centre... Nolan looked off the pace right from the start so the late tackles were no surprise...the first yellow looked soft but his second made up for it...better 2 yellows than a straight red... Jonas put in a massive shift in first half, and felt it in the second, but he really impressed today despite lacking the ability to strike the ball... Was Carroll wearing plimsols? i swear he spent more time on his arse today than on his feet...though a couple of shocking dives were throw in for good measure...defensively sound though, understands the philosophy of getting rid of the ball from corners! Overall, a win is a win, and with Pele back soon, so the goals should flow a litte easier...we have some degree of squad depth (apart from defence) so lets see if we can maintain this gap over xmas!
